Rearseatpassengersmustsituprightwithboth
feetonthefloorconsistentwiththeirphysical
sizeandbeproperlyrestrainedwhenevertheve-
hicleisinuse.
Toreducetheriskofinjurycausedbyanincorrect
seatingpositionintheeventofasuddenbraking
maneuveroranaccident,yourpassengersonthe
rearbenchseatmustalwaysobservethefollow-

Improperseatingpositionscancauseseriousin-
juryordeath. Safetybeltscanonlyworkwhen
theyareproperlypositionedonthebody.Im-
properseatingpositionsreducetheeffectiveness
of safety
beltsandwillevenincreasetheriskof
injuryanddeathbymovingthesafetybelttocrit-
icalareasofthebody.Improperseatingpositions
alsoincreasetheriskofseriousinjuryanddeath
whenanairbagdeploysandstrikesanoccupant
whoisnotintheproperseatingposition.Adriver
isresponsibleforthesafety ofallvehicleoccu-
