Gasolineadditives
Animportantissueformanyautomobilemanu-
facturersiscombustionresidueintheengine
thatresultsfromtheuseofcertainfuels.
Althoughtypesofgasolinedifferdependingon
themanufacturer,therearesimilarities.Certain
substancesinthegasolinemaycausedepositsin
theengine.Additivesinthegasolinethatshould
keeptheengineandfuelsystemcleandonotall
functionequally.

Thevehiclemayonlybedrivenwithunleaded
gasoline,orthecatalyticconverterwillbede-
stroyed.
Neverdriveuntilthetankiscompletelyempty.
Theirregularsupplyoffuelthatresultsfromthat
cancauseenginemisfires.Uncombustedfuel
couldentertheexhaustsystem,whichcould
causeoverheatinganddamagetothecatalytic
converter.

ZAWARNING
Thetemperatureoftheexhaustsystemis
high,bothwhendrivingandafterstopping
the
engine.
—Nevertouchtheexhausttailpipesoncethey
havebecomehot. Thiscouldresultinburns.
—Donotparkyourvehicleoverflammable
materialssuchasgrassorleavesbecause
thehightemperatureoftheemissionssys-
temcouldstartafire.
—Donotapplyunderbodyprotectantinthe
exhaustsystemarea,becausethisincreases
theriskoffire.

hotsteamorcoolant,coverthecapwitha
thick clothwhenopening.
—Donotremovetheenginecoverunderany
circumstances.Thisincreasestheriskof
burns.
—Duetotheriskofelectricshock,nevertouch
theignitioncableorothercomponentsin
theelectronichigh-voltageignitionsystem
whentheengineisrunningorisstarting.
—Ifagearisengagedwhilethevehicleissta-
tionaryandtheengineisrunning,donot
presstheacceleratorpedalinadvertently.
Pressingtheacceleratorpedalwillcausethe
vehicletomove,andthiscouldresultinan
accident.
—Ifinspectionsorrepairsmustbeperformed
whiletheengineisrunning,movingcompo-
nents(suchastheribbedbelt,generator,
and
radiatorfan)poseanadditionalrisk.
—Firstsettheparkingbrake,andthenmove
thegearshiftlevertoneutralonvehicles
withamanualtransmissionorselectthe

Itisbecomingincreasinglymoreandmorediffi-
culttoreplacevehiclelightbulbssinceinmany
cases,otherpartsofthecarmustfirstbere-
movedbeforeyouareabletogettothebulb.
Thisappliesespeciallytothelightbulbsinthe
frontofyourcarwhichyoucanonlyreach
throughtheenginecompartment.
Sheetmetalandbulbholderscanhave sharp
edgesthatcancauseseriouscuts,partsmustbe
correctlytakenapartandthenproperlyput back
togethertohelppreventbreakageof partsand
longtermdamagefromwaterthatcanenter
housingsthathavenotbeenproperlyresealed.
Foryoursafety,werecommendthatyouhave
yourauthorizedAudidealerreplaceanybulbsfor
you,sinceyourdealerhasthepropertools,the
correctbulbsandtheexpertise.
Gasdischargelamps(Xenonlights):
Duetothehighelectricalvoltage,havethebulbs
