Double cargo floor
You can store dirty or wet objects under the
cargo floor .

Removing the cargo floor, installing
.. To remove, lift the cargo floor fo lded to­
gether and pu ll it toward the rear lid.
.. To install, place the folded cargo floor into
both retainers and unfold it.
Grab the protective tray on the hand les and
pull it out. You can also install a divider to di­
vide @the storage area. Depending on the
vehicle equ ipment level, the protective tray
can have different sizes and shapes.

The storage net on the right side trim can be
moved lower on the side guides, if needed

Roof rack
Description
Additional cargo can be carried with a roof
luggage rack .
If luggage or cargo is to be carried on the
roof, you must observe the follow ing:
- Only a specially designed roof rack may be
used on your vehicle roof. This is provided
with your vehicle.
- These roof racks are the basis for a complete
roof rack system. Additional attachments
are necessary if you want to transport lug­
gage, b icycles, surf boards and skis . All
these components are available at your au­
thorized Audi dealer .

If you use other roof luggage rack systems
or do not install the racks as intended, any
damage to the vehicle is not covered by ..,.

the warranty. Always read the manufactur­
er installation instructions that came with
your roof rack system when you install the
attachments.
(D Tips
When installing a factory-supplied roof
rack system on the roof railing, the ESC
w ill adapt itself to a different center of
gravity.
Attachment points
The roof rack can only be attached at the
marked locations.

Attach the roof rack only at the attachment
poi nts on the roof railing. On the inside of the
roof railing there are two holes for attaching
the rear end of the roof rack . To prevent con­
fusing the front and rear roof rack attach­
ments, there are three holes on the left and
two holes on the right for mounting the front
part of the roof rack

The roof racks have a sticker on the left side
underneath to identify front and rear.
A WARNING
When installing the roof rack, make sure
the sticker is on the left side of the vehicle
and faces the stamped arrow in the drive
direction .

The roof rack set consists of a front and rear
roof rack, the cover profile and a socket
wrench.

A WARNING
Check all the roof rack connect ions each
time before eac h tr ip and re -tighten or re ­
adjust if necessary. If you are going to be
driving or rough terra in, you will have to
check the at tachments more often.
If you
do not do th is, the risk of yo ur luggage
coming loose and fa lling off is greater.
The p ins and the roof rack claws must en­
gage secure ly into the holes and in to the
edge of the roof ra iling when you tighten
the screws!
(j) Tips
You can adjust the width of the roof rac k
by using a hexagon wrench and turning the
screws on t he top . Let your author ized
Audi dea ler help you with this .

Roof load
The cargo on the roof must be securely at ­
tached. Handling charac teristics change
when cargo is transpor ted.
The permissib le roof load for your veh icle is
165 lbs (75 kg ). The roof lo ad is the total of
the weight o f the roof rack, the attachment s
and the cargo you are carrying .
A WARNING
-The cargo m ust be sec urely attached on
the roof rack, otherwise you ris k an acci­
dent.
- Distrib ute the load as evenly as possib le
and do not make the roof rack wider than
the maximum permitted.
- You must under no circ umstances exceed
the permissible roof load, the permiss i­
b le ax le loads a nd the pe rm issib le over all
weight of your veh icle -risk of an acc i­
dent .
- Mou nt t he attachments to the roo f ra ck
only after you have placed the roof rack
on the vehicle .
- Consider that when tra nspo rting heavy
objects or one w ith a large s urface, the
handling characteristics change due to
shift in the center of gravity or the great­
er surface exposed to the w ind . So adapt
your driving and your speed to prevailing
conditions . We recommend that you do
not drive faster than 80 mph (130 km/
h) .
- Mounti ng a roof rack changes the heig ht
of your vehicle . Keep this in mind when
parking your vehicle in your ga rage, o r
when dr iv ing t hrough a tunne l o r u nder
a n overpass.

-Make sure the rear lid does not hit the
cargo on the roof rack when you open it.
On vehicles with automatic rear lid/trunk
lid operation" you may have to adjust the
open position of the rear lid

-Remove the roof rack and attachment
before taking your vehicle through an au­
tomatic car wash to avoid damage.
@ For the sake of the environment
As a result of the increased wind resist­
ance created by a roof rack, your vehicle is
using fuel unnecessarily. So remove the
roof rack after using it.

Holding beverages at the rear
• To adjust the arm @, swing it in the direc­
tion of the arrow.
• Place the beverage in the holder and release
the arm. The arm swings back by its elf and
automatically secures the beverage.
Closing the rear cupholders
• To close the rear cupholder, press on the
center section between the two arms and
push the cupho lder in the slot as far as it
will go.
The holding arm must be adjusted such that it
lies closely against the cupholder.
A maximum of two beverages can be placed in
the center armrest.
A WARNING
Spilled hot liquid can cause an accident
and personal injury.
-
-Never carry any beverage conta iners with
hot liquids, such as hot coffee or hot tea,
in the vehicle while it is moving . In case
of an accident, sudden braking or other
vehicle movement, hot liquid could spill,
causing scalding burns. Spilled hot liquid
can also cause an accident and personal injury.
- Use only soft cups in the cupholder. Hard
cups and glasses can cause injury in an
accident.
- Never use the cupholder or adapter as an
ashtray - risk of fire.
CD Note
Only drink containers with lids should be
carried in the cupholder. liquid could spill
out and damage your vehicle's electronic
equipment or stain the upholstery, etc.

Climatized cupholders

The driver side beverage holder can keep your
beverage warm or cold.

age holde r base will go down to approximate·

on @. This is reminder not to touch the base
because it is hot . The disp lay goes out if the
temperature falls be low this value.

- Never to uch the beverage ho lde r base
when the warm ing display is on. Yo u can
burn yourse lf!
- Do not use breakable beverage con tain­
ers (for example made out of glass o r
porcelain). Yo u could be injured by them
in case of an acc ident.

Ma ke sure you r beverage holder has a lid.
I f not, yo ur beverage could spill out and
cause damage to t he ve hicle elec tronic or
stain t he seat cove rs .

Do not cover the ventilation grille -arrow­

.,. Remove the cigarette lighter when it pops
out .
The cigarette lighter should only be used as a
power source for the compressor from the in­
flatable spare tire/tire repair kit* when abso­
lutely necessary.
_& WARNING
The cigarette lighter only works when the
ignition is switched on. Incorrect usage
can lead to ser ious injuries or burns. For
this reason, children should never be left unattended in the vehicle because this in­
creases the risk of injury.
12-volt sockets
Electrical accessories can be connected to ev­
ery 12-volt socket.

The 12-volt sockets can be used for electrical
accessories. The power input must not exceed
120 watts.
There is an additional 12-volt socket in the
center console. Before you purchase any accessories, always
read and follow the information in
Q page 295, Additional accessories and parts
replacement.
A WARNING
The power outlets and therefore the elec­
trical accessories connected to them oper­ ate only with the ignition on. Improper use
of the outlets or of electrical accessories
can lead to serious injuries or cause a fire.
For this reason, children should never be
left unattended in the vehicle -they could
be injured!
(D Note
To avoid damaging the socket, only use
plugs that fit properly .
{D) Tips
When the engine is off and accessories are
still plugged in and are on, the vehicle bat ­
tery can still be drained .

A WARNING

- Always remove objects from the instru­
ment panel. Any items not put away
could slide around inside the vehicle
while driving or when accelerating or
when applying the brakes or when driv­ ing around a corner.
- When you are driving make sure that
anything you may have placed in the cen­
ter console or other storage locations
cannot fall out into the footwells. In case
of sudden braking you would not be able
to brake or accelerate.
- Any pieces of clothing that you have
hung up must not interfere with the driv­
er's view. The coat hooks are designed
only for lightweight clothing. Never hang
any clothing with hard, pointed or heavy
objects in the pockets on the coat hooks .
During sudden braking or in an accident -
especially if the airbag is deployed -
these objects could injure any passen­
gers inside the vehicle.
Glove compartment
The glove compartment is illuminated and
can be locked .

• Push the g love compartment lid upward un-
ti l the lock engages.
There are holders for a pen and a pad of paper in the glove compartment lid.
On the right side in the glove compartment is
a holder with the key body into which the
emergency key must be cl ipped to be able to
start the vehicle .
A WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury in an
accident or sudden stop, a lways keep the
glove compartment closed whi le driving.
Cooling box in glove compartment
The cooling box works only when the air-con­
ditioning is in cooling mode.

A WARNING
Always keep the lid closed while driv ing to
reduce the risk of injury during a sudden
braking maneuver or in the event of an ac­
cident .

- Hang clothes in such a way that they do
not impair the driver's vision.
- The coat hooks must only be used for
lightweight clothing. Do not leave any
heavy or sharp edged objects in the pock­
ets which may interfere with the side cur­
tain airbag deployment and can cause personal injury in a crash .

Warm and cold Climate control
Description
The climate control system warms, cools and
adds humidity to the a ir in the veh icle inter io r.
It is the most effect ive when the windows and
panoramic sliding sunroo f* are closed . If
there is a build-up of heat inside the vehicle,
venti lation can help to speed up the cooling
process.
I n all heating mode f unctions except
defrost,
the blower on ly switches to a higher speed
once the engine coolant has reached a certain
temperature.
Condensation from the cooling system can
drip and form a puddle of water under the ve­hicle. This is normal and does not mean there
is a leak.
Pollutant filter
The po llutant filte r removes po llutants s uch
as dust and pollen from the air.
The air pollutants filte r must be changed at
the in tervals specified in you r Wa rranty
&
Main tenance book let, so tha t the air condi­
tioner can properly work.
I f you drive you r vehicle in an area with h igh
a ir po llution, the fi lter may need to be
ch anged more freq uent ly than specified in
your Aud i Warranty
& Ma intenance booklet. If
i n doubt, ask your authorized A udi Service Ad­
visor for advice .
K ey coded settings
The climate con trol settings are automat ically
stored and assigned to the remote cont ro l key
that is in use .
& WARNING
Reduced visibility is dangero us and can
cause accidents . -

-For safe driving it is very important that
all windows be free of ice, snow and con­
densat ion.
- Comp letely fam iliarize yourse lf with the
proper use and funct ion of the heat ing
and ve nti lation system and especially
how to defog and defrost the w indows.
- Never use the windshield wiper/washer
system in freez ing weather unt il you
have warmed the w indshield first, using
the heating and ventilation system. The
washer sol ution may free ze o n the wind­
shie ld and red uce visib ility.

- If you suspect that the air conditioner has been damaged, switch the system
off to avoid furt her damage and have it
i n spected by a q ua lified dea lership.
- Repairs to the Audi air conditioner re­
quire specia l techni cal know ledge and
speci al tools. Contact an autho rized Aud i
dealer fo r ass istance.
@ For the sake of the environment

emitted in to the air.

- Keep the air intake s lots ( in fro nt of the
w indshield) free from ice, snow and de­
br is in order to maintai n the proper f unc ­
tion of the climate control system.
- T he energy management system may
switch the seat heating* or rear window
defroster off temporar i Ly . These systems
are available again as soon as the energy
balance has been restored.
- The air flowing out of the vents and
throughout the vehicle's entire interior is
discharged at the rear of the ve hicle.
Make sure that the outlet slots are not
covered by clothing, etc.

Press ing the button switches the seat heating
on at the highest setting ( leve l 3) . The LEDs
indicate the temperature leve l. To reduce the
t e mperature, press the button again. To
switch the seat heating off, press the button
repeatedly unt il the LED turns off .
After 10 minutes, the seat heating automati­
cally switches from leve l 3 to leve l 2.
lil Adjusting seat ventilation *
Press ing the button switches the seat venti la­
tion on at the h ighest set ting (level 3) . The
L EDs indicate the ventilation leve l. To reduce
the ventilation leve l, press the button agai n.
T o switch the seat v entilat ion off, pr ess the
button repeatedly until the L ED turns off.
I.., F RON T I Switch th e defro ster on /off
The windshield and side windows are defrost­
ed or cleared of condensat ion as quickly as
poss ib le. Th e maximum amo unt of air flows
mainly from the vents below the windshield.
Rec irculation mode sw itches off . The tempera­
ture should be se t to 72 ° F (22 °C) or higher .
T he temperature is controlled automatically .

The r ear window heater only operates when
the engine is running.
It switches off auto­
mat ically after a few minutes , depend ing on
t he outside tempera ture.
To prevent the rear window heater from
switch ing off automatica lly, press and hold
the
IQil) REAR I button for more than 2 seconds.
This remains stored unt il the ignition is
switched off .
Air vent s
You can open and close the center and rear air
vents using the thumbwheels. The levers ad ­
just the d irection of the airflow from the
vents .

You can adjust the air temperature in the rear
by turning the thumbwheel toward the red
s ide to make it warmer or toward the blue
s ide to make it cooler.
A WARNING
- Do not use the recircu lation for extended
periods of time. The windows could fog
up since no fresh a ir can enter the vehi­
cle . If the windows fog up, p ress the air
recirc ulation button aga in immediately
to switch off the air reci rc u lation func­
tion or se lect defrost .
- I ndividuals w ith reduced sensitivity to
pa in or temperature cou ld deve lop burns
when using the seat heating* funct ion .
To reduce the risk of injury, these individ­ uals sho uld not use seat heating.
(D Note
To avoid damage to the heat ing e lements *
in the seats, do not kneel on the seats or
place heavy loads on a small area of the
seat.
Setup
The basic climate control settings can be ad ­
justed in the radio or MMI*.

Automat ic recirculation
When sw itched on, a utomat ic recircu lation
controls the recircu lation mode automatically.
If the windows fog up , press the

button.
Synch ronization
When synchronization is swi tched o n, the
same sett ings are appl ied to both the dr iver
and fron t passenger, except for the seat heat ­
ing/venti lation* . Synchronization switches off
when you adjust the settings on the front pas-
senger's s ide . .,.
