Boost ind icator
Applies to: ve hicles w ith Audi virtual cockpit
The boost indicator is only displayed in the sport
view ¢ page 14 .
The current eng ine load (meaning the current
boost pressure) is indicated by a bar .
Head-up display
Appl ies to: ve hicles with hea d-up d isp lay

The head-up display projects certa in warnings or
selected information from the assist systems * or
nav igation* on the windshield. The d isp lay ap
pears within the driver's field of vision.
Switching on /off
.. To switc h the head-up disp lay on, press the~
knob .
.. To switch the head-up disp lay off, press the~
knob.
Adju sting the height
The height of the display can be adjusted to t he
individual driver.

Settings in the Infotainment system

Display content
In the Infotainment system, you can spec ify
which information sho uld be disp layed: For ex
ample, this can include navigation information*,
adaptive cruise contro l* or camera -based tra ffic
s ign recognition *.
The display of ce rtain informa tion and some of
the red indica tor ligh ts cannot be h idden in the
Infotainment system .
Brightness
You can adjust the display br ightness in the Info
ta inme nt sys tem. The display br igh tness dec reas
es autom atically as the amount of lig ht decreas
es . The bac kg round br ightness is adjusted w ith
the instr ument
illumination ¢ page 49.
Picture rotation
You can rotate the picture in the Infotainment
system cloc kwise or counter clockwise .

To prevent sc ra tches on the glass covering the
head-up display, do not p lac e any objects in
the project ion opening.
(D Tips
- Sunglasses with po larization filte rs and un
favor able light ing cond itions can have a
negative effect on the disp lay.
- An opt imum d isp lay depends on the sea t
posit io n and the height ad justment of the
head -up disp lay.
- A spec ial windshie ld is needed for the head
up display funct ion.

Releasing the parking lock using th e
e m erg enc y re leas e
~ To prevent the vehicle from ro lling unintention
ally, set the parking brake(®}
c> page 80 or
press the brake pedal.
~ There are two slits o n the cover . Position the
screwdriver from the vehicle tool kit in one of
the slits on the cover and pry the cover off .
~ Insert the socket wrench (from the vehicle tool
ki t) into the openi ng
c> fig. 93.
~ T urn the soc ket wrench all the way clockw ise (!)
and press it downward @unti l it locks into
place .
~ Leave the socket wrench inserted i::> .&_.
Re setting the parking lock
~ Press t he b rake peda l and sta rt the eng ine.
~ Keep the brake pedal pressed and engage the
f o llowing se lector lever positions one afte r the
other : "N", "D" and back to "N" .
~ Turn the engine off again .
~ Grasp the socket wrench w ith both hands and
pull it up and out carefully to remove
c> (D .
~ Install the cover .
When the parking lock emergency re lease is
used, the
[O] ind icator light and the "N" selector
lever position turn on in the instrument cluster.
The message
D ang er of rolling a way! P not pos
s ible . Plea se apply parking brake
also appears .
A WARNING
-Only activate the eme rgency re lease while
on a level s urface o r a s light slope.
- T he pa rking lock may only be released us ing
the emergency release if the parking brake
is set.
If i t i s no t fu nct ion ing, secure the ve
hicle from rolling using the brake ped al or
ot her s uitab le means, such as blocking a
front and a rear whee l. An unsec ured vehicle
may roll away, wh ich increases the r isk of an
acc ident.
- To reduce the risk of an accident, you m ust
not drive when the emergency re lease is ac
t ivated.

-The risk of damage increases if yo u do not
remove the socket wrench caref ully w hen
resetting the parking lock.

System settings
Setting the date and
time
You can set the clock time manually or using the
CPS* .
.. Select : IMENU I button> Settings > left co ntro l
button >
MMI settings > Date & time.
.. Or : select : IMENU I button> Vehicle > left con-
t ro l button >
Vehicle settings > Date & time .
Automatic setting
When t his function is sw itched on g, the time
and date are a utomat ically set.
Time
R eq uirement: the Automatic setting must be
sw itched
off .
Press the cont ro l kn ob. Yo u ca n se t the Time
manually by turn ing and press ing the con trol
k nob.
Date
R eq uirement: the Automati c setting must be
sw itched
off.
Press the cont rol knob . Yo u can set the Date
manually by turn ing and press ing the cont rol
knob.
Time zone
When se lecting the approp riate t ime zone, a
sampling of countr ies in this zone will be listed .
Automatic time zone*
When t his function is sw itched on g , the time
will automatically ad just to the corresponding
time zone.
Automatic daylight saving time*
When t his function is sw itche d on g, the time
w ill automatically switc h to day light saving time .
Time format
If yo u select 24h , the clock will d isp lay, for ex
a m ple,
13 :00 . If yo u se lec t AM /PM , the clock
w ill d isp lay, for examp le,
1 :00 PM .
System settings
Date format
If you select DD .MM .YYYY , the date displ ay will
show, for example ,
31.08.2018. If you select
MM /DD/YYYY , the date disp lay w ill show, for ex
amp le,
08/31/2018. If you select YYYY-MM
DD ,
the date display will show, fo r example,
2018 -08 -31 .
MMI settings

Language
Yo u can c hange the display language as well as
the lang uage fo r the voice guidance * and voice
r ecognition system *.
T he num ber of langu ages av ailab le depends on
t h e ma rket.
Measurement units
The following meas urement u nits can be set de
pend ing on ava ilab ility:
Speed , Distance , Tem
perature , Fuel consumption , Volume , Pressure .
Tool tips
When this f unct ion is switched on g, yo ur MMI
shows you tips fo r inpu t. The freq uency of how
often it displays dec reases w ith time .
Speech dialog system
App lies to : vehicles wit h voice recog nitio n system
Depend ing on veh icle equipment, the following
funct ions may be ava ilable:
Command display : when this function is sw itch
ed on
g , th e M MI w ill show yo u the poss ible
commands for voice input in the respective
menu.
Short dialog : when this function is sw itche d on
g, a shorter form of the prompts is used .
Command during voice output*: thi s fu nction i s
swi tched on at the factory . W hen this func tion is
switched on
g , yo u can say new commands dur-
i ng announcements. You do not need to wa it for
the signal tone (beep) dur ing an announcement.
