airdistributionsettingisdisplayedintheclimate
controlsystemcontrols.Tohavetheairdistribu-
tionregulatedautomatically,pressoneofthe

SYNC]Synchronization
Usetherockerswitch ()toselectthefunction.
Whensynchronizationisswitchedon,theset-
tingsforthedriver'ssideareappliedtothefront
passenger'ssideandtherear(exceptforseat
heating/ventilation*).Whenthesettingsonthe
frontpassenger'ssideorinthereararechanged,
thesynchronizationisautomaticallyswitchedoff
and3-zoneappearsinthedisplay.

Usetherockerswitch ()toselectthefunction.
Whenthefunctionisswitchedon,youcanadjust
allsettingsfortherearusingtheclimatecontrol
systemcontrolsinthecockpit.Therearclimate

maticallyafteracertainperiodoftimeorafter

Pressingtheabuttonswitchestheseatheating
onatthehighestsetting(level3).TheLEDsindi-
catethetemperaturelevel.Toreducethetem-
perature,pressthebuttonagain.Toswitchthe
seatheatingoff,pressthebuttonrepeatedlyun-
tiltheLEDturnsoff.

Theautomatictransmissioniscontrolledelec-
tronically.Thetransmissionshiftsupordownau-
tomaticallydependingonwhichdriveprogramis
selected.
Whenamoderatedrivingstyleisused,the
transmissionselectsthemosteconomicaldriving
mode.ThetransmissionupshiftsatalowerRPM
anddownshiftsatahigherRPMtoimprovefuel
efficiency.
Thetransmission switchestoasportymodeafter
akick-downorwhenthedriverusesasportydriv-
ingstylecharacterizedbyquickacceleratorpedal
movements,heavyacceleration,frequent
changesinspeed,andtravelingatthemaximum
speed.

manually(tiptronicmode)>page86.
Stronictransmission
TheStronicisadual-clutchtransmission.Power
istransferredusingtwoclutchesthatworkinde-
pendentlyfromoneanother.Theyreplacethe
torqueconverterusedinconventionalautomatic
transmissionsandallowthevehicletoaccelerate
withoutanoticeableinterruptionintraction.
