Storing tire pressures
Applies to: vehicles with Tire Pressure Monitoring System inÂ
dicator
If the tire pressure changes or a tire is replaced,
it must be confirmed in the Infotainment sys Â
tem.
~ Make s ure before storing that the tire pressures
of a ll fou r tires meet the specified values and
are adapted to the load

Do not store the tire press ures if snow chains

Run-flat ti res
Applies to: vehicles with run-flat tires
A run-flat tire helps to maintain vehicle mobility
when there is a loss of pressure .
Cl ~ Run-flat t ires have re inforced sidewalls that pro-

If the t ire pressure monitoring system indicates a
l oss of pressure in one or severa l tires, yo u can
contin ue driving on run -flat tires fo r at least 20
miles (30 km). Drive to an authorized Audi dealer
or authorized Aud i Serv ice Facility immediately to
have the problem corrected .
Continuing to drive on run-flat tires is n o
longer possible if
- there is visible damage to the tires, such as
cracks in the sidewalls .
- strong vibrat ions are felt w hile driving, or the
tire beg ins to smoke due to a strong build-up of
heat .
- the t ire was heavi ly damaged, for example in an
accident There is a r isk that parts of the tire
tread will detach and damage important ve hiÂ
cle components .
- the E lectron ic Stab ilizat ion Control (ESC) is not
work ing or is cont inuously r unning .
- the t ire pressure monitoring system is not
work ing .
If it is no longer poss ible to continue driving deÂ
spite hav ing run-flat tires, see an author ized Audi
dealer or author ized Audi Service Fac ility for asÂ
s istance.
A WARNING
-
R un-f lat t ires may only be used on vehicles
that we re equipped with them at the fa ctory.
- The vehicle must have suspens ion designed
for run-flat tires and a facto ry-installed tire
p ress ure mo nitor ing syste m.
- I nco rrect use of r un-f lat t ires can lead to veÂ
h icl e damage o r accidents. Contact an auÂ
thor ized A udi dealer or au thori zed A udi
Serv ice Facili ty to lear n if r un-f la t tir es may
be used on you r vehicle an d if so, which
ones.
- If r un-fla t ti re s are used, they m ust be in Â
stalled on all fo ur whee ls. Mix ing ti re types
is not permitted.
- If yo u have to drive when the tire press ure is
too low or there is no tire press ure, note the

reached after inflating for 6 minutes, then
the tire is too severely damaged. Do not
continue driving .
- If the t ire cannot be repaired with the tire
sealant, see an authorized Audi dealer or auÂ
thorized Aud i Serv ice Facility for ass istance .
(D Tips
Do not operate the compressor for more than
six m inutes continuously, or it can overheat.
Once the compressor has cooled, you ca n conÂ
tinue to use it .
Completing
"'Adhere the sticker that says "max . SO mph
(max. 80 km/h)" that is p rovided w it h the t ire
mobility kit within the dr ive r's fie ld of vision.
"' Stop the vehicle afte r driving for about 10 m iÂ
nutes and check the tire pressure .
"' If the tire pressure is lower than 19 psi ( 130
kPA), then the tire is too severely damaged. Do
not cont inue driving.
A WARNING
Pay attent ion to the following after repair ing
the t ire :
- Do not drive faster than SO mph (80 km/h).
- Avoid hard acceleration, brak ing sharply,
and fast cornering.
- The vehicle may become more difficu lt to
contro l.
- If the tire is too severely damaged, see an
authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility for assistance.
@ For the sake of the environment
You can give the used tire sealant bottle to an
authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility for disposal.
(D Tips
Remember to obtain a new bottle of sea lant
from an authorized Audi dea ler or authorized
Audi Service Facility after repairing a tire.

Replacing a wheel
Preparation
You must complete the preparation before
changing a tire .
"'Read and follow the impor tant safe ty precau-
tions
¢ page 357.
"'Set the park ing brake .
"' Select the "P" selector lever position .
"' When towing a tra iler : disconnect the trailer
from you r vehicle.
"' Lay out t he vehicle too l kit ¢
page 357 and the
spare tire.
"' Switch on wheel change mode* in the InfotainÂ
ment syst em:
!MENUI button> V ehicle > left
control button >
S erv ic e & ch ecks > Air s uspenÂ
s io n: w heel chang e.
"'Switch the ignit ion off.
The vehicle jack mod e* switches off automatica lÂ
ly at speeds above 6 mph ( 10 km/h).
A WARNING "---
When us ing the ve hicle jack" on a road with a
steep hill or offroad, you must take extra pre Â
cautions to prevent the vehicle from rolling .
Use su itable objects to block the front and
back of t he wheel t hat is diagonal from the
whee l with the flat t ire.
A WARNING
You o r yo ur passenge rs could be injured while
changing a whee l if you do no t follow these
safety precautions :
- I f yo u have a flat tire, move a safe dis tance
off the road. Turn off the eng ine, turn the
emergency flashers on and use other warn Â
ing devices to a lert other motorists.
- Make sure that passengers wait in a safe place away from the vehicle and well away
from the road and traff ic.
- To he lp prevent the vehicle from moving
suddenly and possib ly slipping off the jack*,
a lways f ully set the park ing brake and block
the front and back of the wheel diagonally
opposite the wheel being changed. When
one front wheel is lifted off the ground,

placing the Automatic Transmission in P
(Park) will
not prevent the vehicle from
moving.
- Before you change a wheel, be sure the
ground is level and firm. If necessary, use a
sturdy board under the jack*.
-Always store the vehicle tool kit, the jack* and the replaced tire in the luggage comÂpartment <=>
page 257.
@ Tips
-Obey all laws.
- Before changing the wheel, you must acti- vate the jacking mode*, so that the autoÂmatic controls for the air suspension* do
not make it more difficult to lift the vehicle
with the jack*<=>
page 360 .
Removing the caps

Loosening the wheel bolts

.,. Slide the wheel wrench (from the vehicle tool
kit) all the way onto the wheel bolt .
.,. Turn the wheel bolt approximately one turn to
the left -arrow- . To reach the required torque,
hold the end of the wheel wrench. lfthe wheel
bolt will not loosen, press carefully on the
wheel wrench with your foot . H old onto the veÂ
hicle securely whi le during this and make sure
your stance is stable.
_&. WARNING
To reduce the risk of an accident, only loosen
the wheel bolts gently (one turn) before rais Â
ing the vehicle with the vehicle jack*.

sary . On a slippery surface such as ti le, you
should use a non-slip pad (such as a rubber

the base @ lies f lat on the ground . The base @

.. Move the ratchet @clockwise back and forth
unt il the wheel lifts up slightly from the
ground.
A WARNING
- Make sure the vehicle jack* is stable. There
is a r isk of injury when the ground is slick or
soft, because the vehicle jack* could slide or
sink.
- Only ra ise your vehicle with the vehicle jack*
provided by the factory .
If you use a vehicle
jack des igned for another veh icle, your vehiÂ
cl e can slide and ca use i nju ry .
- Posi tion the vehicle ja ck* only at the desigÂ
na ted mounting points on the side s ill and
align the jack. O therwise, the ve hicl e jack *
cou ld slip and ca use an inj ury i f it does not
have sufficie nt hold on the vehicle.
- Vehicles wi th air suspension*: changes in
tempe rat ure or load can affect the height of
the stopped vehicle.
- To reduce the risk of an accident, never start
the engine when the vehicle is raised .
- T o reduce the risk of injury, support the veÂ
hicle securely with suitab le stands if work is
to be performed underneath the vehicle.
- To help prevent injury to yoursel f and your
passengers:
- Do not ra ise the vehicle unt il you are sure
the jack* is securely engaged.
- Passengers must not remain in the vehicle
when it is jacked up.
- Make sure that passengers wait in a safe
p lace away from the vehicle and well away
from the road and traff ic .

-Make sure jack position is correct, adjust
as necessary and then continue to raise
the jack*.
- If work has to be done under the vehicle,
ensure that it is safely supported on suitaÂ
ble stands -risk of injury!
- Never start the eng ine when the vehicle is
on the jack* -risk of accident!
(D Note
Do not lift the ve hicle by the s ill. Pos ition the
vehicle jack* only at the designated mount ing
points on the side sill. Otherw ise, your veh icle
will be damaged.
(!) Tips
The vehicle jack mode* switches off automatiÂ

-If you notice t hat the wheel bolts are corÂ
r oded and diffic ult to turn w hile chan gin g a
tire, they should be rep laced befo re yo u
chec k th e ti ghtening torque.
- D rive a t reduced speed until you have the
ti ghtening torques c hecked.
Notes on wheel changing
P lease read the i nfo rmation r=> page 33 7 if you
a re go ing to use a replaceme nt tire which i s difÂ
fe rent from the tires on you r ve hicl e.
Afte r you change a t ire:
- Check the tire pressure on the replacement
tire immediately after installation.
- Have the wheel bolt tightening torque
checked with a torque wrench as soon as posÂ
sible by your authorized Audi dealer or qualiÂ
fied workshop.
- With steel and alloy wheel rims , the wheel
bolts a re correctly tightened at a torque of
120 ft lbs (160 Nm) .
- If you notice that the wheel bolts are corroded
and difficult to turn while changing a tire,
they should be replaced before you check the
tightening torque.
- Replace the flat tire with a new one and have
it installed on your vehicle as soon as possiÂ
ble. Remount the wheel cover.
Until then, drive with extra care and at reduced
speeds.
