Introduction
Appliesto:vehicleswithAudipresense
Withinthelimitsofthe system, thepresense
functionscaninitiatemeasuresinparticularly
dangeroussituationstoprotectthevehiclepas-
sengersandotherroadusers.
—Duetotheinterlinkingofvariousvehiclesys-
tems,criticaldrivingsituationscanbedetected
bypresensebasicandmeasuresforpreventa-
tiveoccupantprotectionarecanbeinitiated.
—Thepresensefrontsystemusesthedatafrom
theadaptivecruisecontrol*radarsensorsand
thecameratocalculatetheprobabilityofacol-
lision.Withinthelimitsofthesystem,anim-
pendingcollisionwithvehiclescan bedetected
inbothurbanandruralspeedranges.Inthis
case,thesystemwarnsthedrivervisually,
acousticallyandwithajerkonthebrakesifnec-
essary.Ifneeded,itcaninitiateapartialorfull
decelerationtoreduce thecollisionspeedor to
avoid
thecollisionundercertaincircumstances.
Inconjunctionwithpresensebasic/rear,the
front safetybeltsarealsoreversiblytensioned
whenneeded.Thepresensefrontisalsoactive
whenadaptivecruisecontrol”isswitchedoff.

tions.Itusesthedatafromthesideassist*ra-
darsensorsandcalculateswithinthelimitsof

Ifyouavoidanobstacleaftertheacutewarning,
thentheevasive steeringsupportassistsyouby
applyingslightsteeringadjustmenttocorrect
yoursteeringwheelangleaslongasyouareac-
tivelysteering.Evasivesteeringsupportisavaila-
bleatspeedsbetweenapproximately20mph
(30km/h)and90mph(150km/h).
Turnassist
Whenstartingtodriveanduptospeedsofmaxi-
mum6mph(10km/h),theturnassistusesa
brakinginterventiontopreventyourvehiclefrom
collidingwithanoncomingvehiclewhenturning
leftorright(availableincertaincountries).The
brakinginterventioncausesyourvehicleto stay
initslane.

Apedestrianwarningcanoccuratspeeds upto
50mph(85km/h),andvehiclewarningscanoc-
curatspeedsupto155mph(250km/h).Apre
sensecitybrakingmaneuverispossibleatspeeds
upto50mph(85km/h).

Thesystemrecognizesvariousdangeroussitua-
