A WARNING
Never place any objects in the driver's foot­
well. An object could get into the pedal
area and interfere with pedal function. In
case of sudden braking or an accident, you
would not be able to brake or accelerate .
Front passenger's seat
Always move the front passenger seat into
the rearmost position .
To avoid contact with the airbag while it is de­
ploying, do not sit any closer to the instru­
ment panel than necessary and always wear
the three-point safety belt provided adjusted
correctly . We recommend that you adjust the
passenger's seat in the following manner:
.,. Bring the backrest up to an (almost) upright
position.
Do not ride with the seat reclined .
.,. Applies to vehicles with adjustable head re­
stra ints: Adjust the head restraint so the up­
per edge is as even as possible with the top
of your head. If that is not possible, try to
adjust the head restraint so that it is as
close to this position as possible

- Never adjust the driver's or front pas­
senger's seat while the vehicle is moving.
If you do this while the veh icle is moving,
you will be out of position. Always adjust
the dr iver's or front passenger's seat
when the vehicle is not mov ing.
- Be careful when adjusting the seat
he ight. Check to see that no one is in the
way, or ser ious injury could result!
- Because the seats can be electrically ad­
justed with the ignition off or with the
ignit ion key removed, never leave chil­
dren unattended in the vehicle. Unsuper­
vised use of the electric seat adjust­
ments may cause serious injury.
- To reduce the risk of injury in the case of
sudden braking or accident, front pas­
sengers must never ride in a moving ve­
hicle with the backrest reclined. Safety
belts and the airbag system only offer
maximum protection when the backrest
is upr ight and the safety belts are prop­
erly positioned on the body. The more
the backrest is reclined, the greater the
risk of persona l injury from an incorrect
seating position and improperly posi­
tioned safety belts.

Center armrest
The center armrest can be adjusted to several
levels .

.. To adjust the angle, raise the armrest from
the starting position

-To prevent the head restraints from run­
ning into the headliner, they retract au­
tomatically when moving the seat for­
ward or upward.
- Correctly adjusted head restraints and
safety belts are an extremely effective
combinat ion of safety features.
Seat memory
Description
App lies to vehicles: wit h memo ry function
-
The memory fun ction allows you to quickly
and easily store and recall personal seating
profiles for the driver. The memory function is
operated t hrough the master key and the
memory buttons in the driver's door .
The driver's seating profile is stored and as­
signed to the master key each time the vehicle
is locked. When you open the door, the seat
profile is automatically recalled . If two peop le
use one vehicle, it is recommended that each
person always uses "their own " master key.
Up to 2 seat profiles can be stored in the
memory buttons in the driver's door . Once
they a re stored, these seat profiles can be se-
lected at any time.

In addition to the driver 's seat settings, you
can also store and access the exterior mirror
ad justment settings* using the remote con­
trol key or memory button.
Remote control key

To assign the driver's seat settings to the re­

Switching the memory function on /off
• Press the ION/O FF I button to switch the
memo ry fu nction on/off. The word
OFF
li ghts up when the memory funct io n is
swit ched off. Seat profi les are neither stored
nor recalled .
Storing a s eat p rofile
• Press the ISET I button. When the word SET
lights up, the memory is ready to store set ­
tings.
• Press a memory button

tone confirms that the settings were stored.
Acces sing a seat profile
• If the driver's door is open and the ignition
is switched off, press the memory button.
• If the driver's door is closed or the ignition is
switched on, press and ho ld the memory
button until the seat adjustment is com­
plete .
A WARNING
-For safety reasons ., the seat setting can
only be recalled when the vehicle is sta­
tionary -ot herwise you ris k having an ac­
cident.

A WARNING
Never put waste paper in the ashtray. Hot
ashes or other hot objects in the ashtray
could set waste paper on fire.
Cigarette Lighter

.. Press the cigarette lighter in .
.. Remove the cigarette l ighter when it pops
out.
The c igarette lighter shou ld only be used as a
power source for the tire repair kit when abso­
l utely necessary.
A WARNING
The cigarette lighter only works when the
ign ition is switched on . Incorrect usage
can lead to serious injuries or burns. For
this reason, children should never be left
unattended in the vehicle because this in­
creases the risk of injury.
Storage
General overview
A WARNING
- Always remove objects from the instru­
ment panel. Any items not put away
could slide around inside the vehicle
wh ile driving or when accelerating or
when applying the brakes or when driv­
ing around a corner.

-When you are driving make sure that
anyth ing you may have placed in the cen­
ter console or other storage locations
cannot fall out into the footwells . In case
of sudden braking you would not be able
to brake or accelerate .

A WARNING
Spilled hot liquid can cause an accident
and personal injury.
- Never carry any beverage containers with
hot liquids, such as hot coffee or hot tea,
in the vehicle while it is moving. In case
of an accident, sudden braking or other
veh icle movement, hot liquid could spill,
causing scalding burns. Spilled hot liquid
can also cause an acc ident and personal
injury.

- Use only soft cups in the cupholder. Hard
cups and g lasses can ca use in jury in an
accident.
- Never use the cupholder or adapter as an
ashtray -risk of fire.
(D Note
On ly drink containers with lids should be
carried in the cupho lder. Liqu id could sp ill
out and damage your vehicle's e lectronic
equipment or stain the upholstery, etc.
Glove compartment
The glove comportment is illuminated and
can be locked .

On the r ight side in the glove compartment is
a holder wi th the key body into which the
emergency key must be cl ipped to be able to
start the vehicle .
A WARNING
To reduce the risk of persona l injury in an
accident or sudden stop, always keep the
glove compartment closed wh ile driving.

--The backrest must be securely latched in
position so that no items contained in

- Never a llow safety belts to become dam­
a ged by be ing caugh t in door or seat
hardware.
- Torn or frayed safety belts can tear and
d a maged be lt hardware can break i n a
crash. Inspect the belts periodically .

Belts showing damage to webbing, bind­
ings, buckles, or retractors must be re­
placed.
(D Note
Slide the belt guide on the outside safety
be lt all the way up before fo lding the back­
rest back forward. Make sure the seat belt
is not pinched or damaged when the rear
seat backrest if folded back. Other objects
should be removed from the rear seat
bench to protect the seatback from dam­
age.
Tie-downs
The luggage compartment is equipped with
four tie-down rings to secure luggage and
other items.

- Sharp edges on the load must be covered

Warm and cold Climate controls
Description
Th e climate control sy stem warms, cools and
adds humidity to the a ir in the veh icle inter io r.
It is the most effect ive when the windows and
power top are closed. If there is a build-up of
h eat inside the vehicle, ventilation can help to
speed up the cooling process .
I n all he ating mode f unctions except
defrost,
the blower on ly switches to a higher speed
once the engine coolant has reached a certain
temp erature.
Condensat ion from the cooling sys tem can
d rip and form a puddle of water under the ve­
h icle. This is normal and does not mean there
is a leak .
Pollutant filter
The po llutant filte r removes po llutants s uch
as dus t and pollen from the air.
The air pollutants filte r must be changed at
the intervals spec ified in you r Wa rra nty
&
M aintenance book let, so tha t the air condi­
tioner can prope rly work .
If you drive your vehicle in an area w ith h igh
a ir po llution , the fi lter may need to be
changed more frequent ly than specified in
your Aud i Warranty
& Ma intenance bookle t. If
in doubt, ask your authorized A udi Service Ad ­
v isor for advice .
Key coded settings
The clima te control sett ings are automat ically
stored and assigned to the remote co ntro l key
that is in use. These set tings are differe nt
when the power top is open or closed .

Reduced visibility is dangero us and can
cause accidents . -

-For safe driving it is very important that
all windows be free of ice, snow and con­
densat ion.
- Comp letely fam iliarize yourse lf with the
proper use and funct ion of the heat ing
and ve nti lation system and especially
how to defog and defrost the w indows.
- Never use the windshield wiper/washer
system in freez ing weather unt il you
have warmed the w indshield first, using
the heating and ventilation system. The
washer sol ution may free ze o n the wind­
shie ld an d red uce visib ility.

- If you s uspect that the air conditioner
has been damaged, switch the system
off to avoid furt her damage and have it
i n spected by a q ua lified dea lership.
- Repairs to the Audi air condition er re­
quire specia l techni cal know ledge and
speci al tools. Contact an autho rized Aud i
dealer fo r ass istance.

- Keep the air intake s lo ts ( in fro nt of the
w indshield) free from ice, snow and de­
br is in order to maintai n the proper f unc ­
tion of the climate control system.
- T he energy m anagement system may
switch the seat heating* or rear window
defroster off temporar ily . These systems
are available again as soon as the energy
balance has been restored .
- Air escapes through vents under the rear
window. When placing items of clothing
on the luggage compartment cover, en­
sure that the openings are not covered.

IAUTO I Switching automatic mode on
Automatic mode mainta ins a constant tem­
peratu re inside the vehi cle. Air temperature,
airflow and air distribution are controlled au­
tomatically.
Adjusting the temperature
Temperatures between 60 °F (+16 °C) and
84
°F (+ 28 °C) can be set . Outside of this
range,
LO or HI will appear in the climate con­
trol system display. At both of these settings,
the climate control system runs continuously
at maximum cooling or heating power. There
is no temperature regu lation.
~ Adjusting the airflow
You can adjust the airflow manually to suit
your needs . To have the airflow regulated au­
tomatically, press the IAUTO ! button.
~Adjusting the air distribution
You can manually select the vents where the
a ir will flow. To have the air d istr ibution regu­
lat ed automatically, press the
IAUTOI button.
~ Adjusting seat heating*
Pressing the button switches the seat heating
on at the highest sett ing (level 3). The LEDs
indicate the temperature leve l. To reduce the
temperature, press the button again. To
switch the seat heating off , press the button
repeatedly until the LE D turns off.
After 10 minutes, the seat heating automati­
cally switches from level 3 to level 2.
[ill Adjusting seat ventilation*
Pressing the button switches the seat ventila­
tion on at the highest setting (level 3) . The
LE Ds ind icate the ventilat ion level. To reduce
the ventilation leve l, press the button aga in.
To switch the seat ventilat ion off, press the
button repeatedly until the LED turns off.

l F RON T I Switch the defroster on/off
The w indshield and side windows are defrost­
ed or cleared of condensation as quickly as
possible . The maximum amount of air flows
main ly from the vents below the windshield.
Recirc ulation mode switches off. The tempera­
ture should be set to 72
°F (22 °() or higher.
The temperature is controlled automatically.
The
! AUTO I button switches the defroster off.
lliil R EAR ! Switching rear window heater
on/off
The rear window heater on ly operates when
the engine is running .
It switches off auto­
matically after a few minutes, depending on
the outside temperature.
To prevent the rear window heater from
switching off automatically, press and hold
the
l oo REARI button for more than 2 seconds.
This remains stored until the ign ition is
switched off .
Air vents
You can open and close the center and rear air
vents using the thumbwheels . The levers ad­
just the direction of the airflow from the
vents.
In vehicles with a 3-zone deluxe automatic cli­
mate control system*, you can adjust the air
temperature in the rear by turn ing the thumb­
whee l toward the red side to make it warmer
or toward the b lue side to make it cooler .
A WARNING
-Do not use the recirculation for extended
periods of time. The windows could fog
up since no fresh air can enter the vehi­
cle. If the windows fog up, press the air
recircu lation button again immediately
to switch off the air recirc ulation func­
tion or se lect defrost.
- Individuals with reduced sensitivity to
pain or temperature could develop burns
when using the seat heating function. To
reduce the risk of injury, these indiv idu­
als should not use seat heating.
