Ignition switch and steering lock
KeysYou will receive two master
keys and one spare key.
The key number is shown on a
tag which is also supplied.
d Warning:
Only RESIDUAL BRAKING
FUNCTIONALITY is available
when the ignition is switched
off (b 81).
d Warning:
Never attach other keys or
key rings to the motorcycle
key – risk to safety if bunch of
keys were to get trapped be-
hind the fairing as you turn
the handlebars.
L Note:
Ignition switch and steering
lock, fuel tank filler cap lock,
radio-compartment lock and
side and topcase locks are all
operated with the same key.

on before the hazard warning
flashers can be used.
Do not use the hazard warning
flashers for longer than abso-
lutely necessary.

Adjusting left/right
deflectors:

Reverser
d Warning:
Avoid steep and uneven road
surfaces when reversing.
Take great care to maintain
your balance when reversing
on wet, slippery, uneven,
unpaved or muddy surfaces.
Engage the reverser only
when the motorcycle is at a
standstill and do not press the
starter pushbutton while en-
gaging the reverser lever.
d Warning:
The rules for reversing:
–No pillion passenger
–You must be seated on the
motorcycle
–Keep both feet on the
ground
–Keep your feet well clear of
the footrests on both sides
–Keep both hands on the
handlebars
–Make sure side stand and
main stand are both fully
retracted (
b 65, 67)
–Check that the area behind
the motorcycle is free of
obstructions
e Caution:
Do not operate the reverser for
more than 1 minute – bear the
state of battery charge in mind.
The reverser switches off if it is
overloaded.
