16 In Brief See Dual Automatic Climate Control
System 0 129 .
Transmission Driver Shift Control (DSC) DSC allows you to shift an
automatic transmission similar to a
manual transmission. To use the
DSC feature:
1. Move the shift lever from
D (Drive) to the left into the (+)
or ( − ) manual position.
2. Press the shift lever forward (+)
to upshift or rearward ( − ) to
downshift. An M and the
current gear will be displayed
in the Driver Information
Center (DIC).

While using the DSC feature, the
vehicle will have firmer, quicker
shifting. You can use this for sport
driving or when climbing or
descending hills, to stay in gear
longer, or to downshift for more
power or engine braking. Vehicle Features Infotainment System See the infotainment manual for
information on the radio, audio
players, phone, navigation system,
and voice or speech recognition.
It also includes information on
settings.
Steering Wheel Controls The infotainment system can be
operated by using the steering
wheel controls. See "Steering
Wheel Controls" in the infotainment
manual. Cruise Control
1 : Press to turn the cruise control
system on or off. A white indicator
comes on in the instrument cluster
when cruise is turned on.
RES/+ : If there is a set speed in
memory, move the thumbwheel up
briefly to resume to that speed or
hold upward to accelerate. If cruise
control is already active, use to
increase vehicle speed.

In Brief 17SET/ − : Move the thumbwheel down
briefly to set the speed and activate
cruise control. If cruise control is
already active, use to decrease
speed.
* : Press to disengage cruise
control without erasing the set
speed from memory.

Driver Information
Center (DIC) The DIC display is in the center of
the instrument cluster. It shows the
status of many vehicle systems. The
controls for the DIC are on the turn
signal lever.
1. SET/CLR: Press to set,
or press and hold to clear, the
menu item displayed. 2.
w /
x : Use the band to
scroll through the items in
each menu.
3. MENU: Press to display the
DIC menus. This button is also
used to return to or exit the last
screen displayed on the DIC.

Forward Collision Alert
(FCA) System If equipped, FCA may help avoid or
reduce the harm caused by
front-end crashes. FCA provides a
green indicator,
V , when a vehicle
is detected ahead. When
approaching a vehicle ahead too
quickly, FCA provides a visual alert
and rapidly beeps.

System 0 164 . Lane Departure
Warning (LDW) If equipped, LDW may help avoid
unintentional lane departures at
speeds of 56 km/h (35 mph) or
greater. LDW uses a camera sensor
to detect the lane markings. The
LDW light,
@ , is green if a lane
marking is detected. If the vehicle
departs the lane without using a turn
signal in that direction, the light will
change to amber and flash. In
addition, beeps will sound.

Rear Vision
Camera (RVC) RVC displays a view of the area
behind the vehicle on the
infotainment display when the
vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse) to
aid with parking and low-speed
backing maneuvers.

E85 or FlexFuel No E85 or FlexFuel
Gasoline-ethanol fuel blends greater
than E15 (15% ethanol by volume),
such as E85, cannot be used in this
vehicle.
Engine Oil Life System The engine oil life system calculates
engine oil life based on vehicle use
and displays the CHANGE ENGINE
OIL SOON message when it is time
to change the engine oil and filter.
The oil life system should be reset
to 100% only following an oil
change. Resetting the Oil Life System
1. Display REMAINING OIL LIFE
on the Driver Information
Center (DIC). See Driver
Information Center (DIC) 0 110 .
2. Press and hold SET/CLR to
reset the oil life at 100%.
3. Turn the ignition off.

Driving for Better Fuel
Economy Driving habits can affect fuel
mileage. Here are some driving tips
to get the best fuel economy
possible.

Avoid fast starts and accelerate
smoothly.
.
Brake gradually and avoid
abrupt stops.
.
Avoid idling the engine for long
periods of time.
.
When road and weather
conditions are appropriate, use
cruise control. .
Always follow posted speed
limits or drive more slowly when
conditions require.

Keep vehicle tires properly
inflated.
.
Combine several trips into a
single trip.
.
Replace the vehicle's tires with
the same TPC Spec number
molded into the tire's sidewall
near the size.

Follow recommended scheduled
maintenance.

High-Beam On Light The high ‐ beam on light comes on
when the high-beam headlamps are
in use.
See Headlamp High/Low-Beam
Changer 0 121 for more information.
Adaptive Forward
Lighting (AFL) Light
This light should come on briefly as
the vehicle is started. If it does not
come on, have the vehicle serviced
by your dealer. This light comes on solid when
there is a problem with the AFL
system. It flashes when the system
is switching between lighting
modes. See Adaptive Forward
Lighting (AFL) 0 122 .
Front Fog Lamp Light
If equipped, this light comes on
when the fog lamps are on.
The light goes out when the fog
lamps are turned off. See Fog
Lamps 0 124 . Lamps On Reminder This light comes on when the
exterior lamps are in use. See
Exterior Lamp Controls 0 120 .
Cruise Control Light
For vehicles with cruise control, the
cruise control light is white when the
cruise control is on and ready, and
turns green when the cruise control
is set and active.
The light turns off when the cruise
control is turned off. See Cruise
Control 0 159 .

Instruments and Controls 113Remember, the Remaining Oil Life
display must be reset after each oil
change. It will not reset itself. Also,
be careful not to reset the
Remaining Oil Life display
accidentally at any time other than
when the oil has just been changed.
It cannot be reset accurately until
the next oil change. To reset the
engine oil life system, press SET/
CLR while the Remaining Oil Life
display is active. See Engine Oil
Life System 0 181 .
Battery Voltage
This display shows the current
battery voltage. If the voltage is in
the normal range, the value will
display. For example, the display
may read Battery Voltage 15.0
Volts. The vehicle's charging system
regulates voltage based on the state
of the battery. The battery voltage
can fluctuate while viewing this
information on the DIC. This is
normal. See Charging System Light
0 102 . Vehicle Messages Messages displayed on the DIC
indicate the status of the vehicle or
some action that may be needed to
correct a condition. Multiple
messages may display one after the
other.
The messages that do not require
immediate action can be
acknowledged and cleared by
pressing SET/CLR. The messages
that require immediate action cannot
be cleared until that action is
performed. All messages should be
taken seriously and clearing the
messages does not correct the
problem.

Engine Power Messages ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED This message displays when the
vehicle's propulsion power is
reduced. Reduced propulsion power
can affect the vehicle's ability to
accelerate. If this message is on,
but there is no observed reduction
in performance, proceed to your
destination. The performance may
be reduced the next time the vehicle
is driven. The vehicle may be driven
