Seat Entry Memory
The vehicle identifies the number of
the current driver’s RKE transmitter
(1–8). See Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System Operation 08. If the
RKE transmitter is 1 or 2, and Seat
Entry Memory is enabled in vehicle
personalization, the positions saved
to the same memory button number
1 or 2 are automatically recalled
when the vehicle is turned on,
or turned from off to ACC/
ACCESSORY. RKE transmitters 3–8
will not provide automatic memory
recalls.
To turn Seat Entry Memory on or off,
see “Vehicle Personalization
Settings” previously in this section
and Vehicle Personalization 0135.
The shift lever must be in P (Park)
to start Seat Entry Memory. Seat
Entry Memory recall will complete if
the vehicle is shifted out of P (Park)
prior to reaching the saved memory
position.
To stop Seat Entry Memory recall
movement, turn the vehicle off or
press any of the following controls: .
Power seat
. Memory SET, 1, 2, or
B
.Power mirror, with the driver or
passenger side mirror selected
. Power steering wheel,
if equipped
If the saved memory seat position
does not automatically recall or
recalls to the wrong positions, the
driver ’s RKE transmitter number (1
or 2) may not match the memory
button number that positions were
saved to. Try storing the position to
the other memory button or try the
other RKE transmitter.
Seat Exit Memory
Seat Exit Memory is not linked to an
RKE transmitter. The position saved
to
Bis used for all drivers. To turn
Seat Exit Memory on or off, see
"Vehicle Personalization Settings"
previously in this section and
Vehicle Personalization 0135.
If turned on, the position saved to
Bis automatically recalled when
one of the following occurs: .
The vehicle is turned off and the
driver door is opened within a
short time.
. The vehicle is turned off with the
driver door open.
To stop Seat Exit Memory
movement, press any of the
following memory controls:
. Power seat
. Memory SET, 1, 2, or
B
.Power mirror, with the driver or
passenger side mirror selected
. Power steering wheel,
if equipped
Obstructions
If something has blocked the driver
seat and/or power steering wheel
while recalling a memory position,
the recall may stop. Remove the
obstruction and try the recall again.
If the memory position still does not
recall, see your dealer.

3. Pull the lever on top of theseatback to unlock the
seatback.
A red indicator near the
seatback lever is exposed
when the seatback is unlocked.
4. Fold the seatback down. Repeat Steps 1–3 for the other
seatback, if desired.
Raising the Seatbacks
{Warning
If either seatback is not locked, it
could move forward in a sudden
stop or crash. That could cause
injury to the person sitting there.
Always push and pull on the
seatbacks to be sure they are
locked.
{Warning
A seat belt that is improperly
routed, not properly attached,
or twisted will not provide the
protection needed in a crash. The
person wearing the belt could be
seriously injured. After raising the
rear seatback, always check to be
sure that the seat belts are
properly routed and attached, and
are not twisted.
To raise a seatback: 1. Lift the seatback up and push it rearward to lock it in place.
A tab near the seatback lever
retracts when the seatback is
locked in place. The center rear seat belt may
lock when you raise the
seatback. If this happens, let
the belt go back all the way
and start again.
2. Return the head restraint to the upright position. See Head
Restraints 040.
3. Push and pull the top of the seatback to be sure it is locked
into position.
4. Check if the seat belt is stowed within hook at side. If not, stow
seat belt in it appropriately.
5. Repeat the steps to raise the other seatback, if necessary.
When the seat is not in use, it
should be kept in the upright, locked
position.

96 Storage
Roof Rack System
{Warning
If something is carried on top of
the vehicle that is longer or wider
than the roof rack—like paneling,
plywood, or a mattress —the
wind can catch it while the vehicle
is being driven. The item being
carried could be violently torn off,
and this could cause a collision
and damage the vehicle. Never
carry something longer or wider
than the roof rack on top of the
vehicle unless using a GM
certified accessory carrier.
If equipped, the roof rack can be
used to load items. For roof racks
that do not have crossrails included,
GM certified crossrails can be
purchased as an accessory. See
your dealer.
Caution
Loading cargo on the roof rack
that weighs more than 75 kg
(165 lb) or hangs over the rear or
sides of the vehicle may damage
the vehicle. Do not load cargo
exceeding 75 kg (165 lbs) and
always load cargo so that it rests
evenly between the crossrails and
does not block the vehicle lamps
or windows. Fasten the cargo
securely.
To prevent damage or loss of cargo
when driving, check to make sure
crossrails and cargo are securely
fastened. Loading cargo on the roof
rack will make the vehicle’ s center
of gravity higher. Avoid high speeds,
sudden starts, sharp turns, sudden
braking, or abrupt maneuvers;
otherwise it may result in loss of
control. If driving for a long distance,
on rough roads, or at high speeds,
occasionally stop the vehicle to
make sure the cargo remains in its
place. Do not exceed the maximum
vehicle capacity when loading the
vehicle. For more information on
vehicle capacity and loading, see
Vehicle Load Limits 0232.

wiper lever to select the wiper
speed.
Windshield Wiper with Intermittent
Wipes (INT Shown, Rainsense
Similar)
HI :Use for fast wipes.
LO : Use for slow wipes.
INT : Use for intermittent wipes or
Rainsense, if equipped and
enabled. To adjust wipe frequency,
turn the band up for more frequent
wipes or down for less frequent
wipes. If Rainsense is enabled, see
“Rainsense” later in this section.
OFF : Use to turn the wipers off. 1X :
For a single wipe, briefly move
the wiper lever down. For several
wipes, hold the wiper lever down.
Clear snow and ice from the wiper
blades before using them. If frozen
to the windshield, carefully loosen or
thaw them. Damaged blades should
be replaced. See Wiper Blade
Replacement 0328. Heavy snow or
ice can overload the wiper motor.
Wiper Parking
If the ignition is turned off while the
wipers are on LO, HI, or INT, they
will immediately stop.
If the windshield wiper lever is then
moved to OFF before the driver
door is opened or within 10 minutes,
the wipers will restart and move to
the base of the windshield. If the ignition is turned off while the
wipers are performing wipes due to
windshield washing, the wipers
continue to run until they reach the
base of the windshield.
Rainsense
If equipped with Rainsense, a
sensor located near the top center
of the windshield detects the
amount of water on the windshield
and automatically controls the
frequency of the windshield wiper.
When Rainsense is enabled, the
normal intermittent control operates
as a sensitivity control.
Keep this area of the windshield
clear of debris to allow for best
system performance.

and either stop or return to your
preset speed. For more washer
cycles, press and hold the lever.
The rear window wiper/washer will
not operate if the liftgate is open or
ajar. If the liftgate is opened while
the rear wiper is on, the wiper
returns to the parked position and
stops.
Rear Wiper Arm Assembly
Protection
When using an automatic car wash,
move the rear wiper control to OFF
to disable the rear wiper. In some
vehicles, if the transmission is in
N (Neutral) and the vehicle speed is
very slow, the rear wiper will
automatically park.
The wiper operations return to
normal when the transmission is no
longer in N (Neutral) or the vehicle
speed has increased.
Reverse Gear Wipes
If the rear wiper control is off, the
rear wiper will automatically operate
continuously when the vehicle is in
R (Reverse) and the frontwindshield wiper is performing low
or high speed wipes. If the rear
wiper control is off, the vehicle is in
R (Reverse), and the front
windshield wiper is performing
interval wipes, then the rear wiper
automatically performs interval
wipes.
This feature can be turned on or off.
See
Vehicle Personalization 0135.
The windshield washer reservoir is
used for the windshield and the rear
window. Check the fluid level in the
reservoir if either washer is not
working. See Washer Fluid 0322.
Rear Camera Washer
If equipped, push the windshield
wiper lever forward to spray washer
fluid on the rear camera lens. The lever returns to its starting position
when released. See
Rear Camera
Mirror 032.
Compass
The vehicle may have a compass
display on the Driver Information
Center (DIC). The compass receives
its heading and other information
from the Global Positioning
System (GPS) antenna, StabiliTrak/
Electronic Stability Control (ESC),
and vehicle speed information.
The compass system is designed to
operate for a certain number of
miles or degrees of turn before
needing a signal from the GPS
satellites. When the compass
display shows CAL, drive the
vehicle for a short distance in an
open area where it can receive a
GPS signal. The compass system
will automatically determine when a
GPS signal is restored and provide
a heading again.

engine is started.
If the light does not come on, have it
fixed so it will be ready to warn if
there is a problem.
If the light comes on while driving,
stop as soon as it is safely possible
and turn off the vehicle. Then start
the engine again to reset the
system. If the ABS light stays on,
or comes on again while driving, the
vehicle needs service. A chime may
also sound when the light comes on
steady.
If the ABS light is the only light on,
the vehicle has regular brakes, but
the antilock brakes are not
functioning.

Tire Pressure Light
For vehicles with the Tire Pressure
Monitor System (TPMS), this light
comes on briefly when the engine is
started. It provides information
about tire pressures and the TPMS.
When the Light Is On Steady
This indicates that one or more of
the tires are significantly
underinflated.
A Driver Information Center (DIC)
tire pressure message may also
display. Stop as soon as possible,
and inflate the tires to the pressure
value shown on the Tire and
Loading Information label. See Tire
Pressure 0351. When the Light Flashes First and
Then Is On Steady
If the light flashes for about a minute
and then stays on, there may be a
problem with the TPMS. If the
problem is not corrected, the light
will come on at every ignition cycle.
See
Tire Pressure Monitor
Operation 0353.
Engine Oil Pressure Light
Oil pressure can vary with engine
speed, outside temperature, and oil
viscosity.
On some models, the oil pump will
vary engine oil pressure according
to engine needs. Oil pressure may
change quickly as the engine speed
or load varies. This is normal. If the
oil pressure warning light or Driver
Information Center (DIC) message
indicates oil pressure outside the
normal operating range, check the
vehicle's oil as soon as possible.
Caution
Lack of proper engine oil
maintenance can damage the
engine. Driving with the engine oil
low can also damage the engine.
The repairs would not be covered
by the vehicle warranty. Check
the oil level as soon as possible.
Add oil if required, but if the oil
level is within the operating range
and the oil pressure is still low,
have the vehicle serviced. Always
follow the maintenance schedule
for changing engine oil.
This light should come on briefly as
the engine is started. If it does not
come on, have the vehicle serviced
by your dealer.
