To view available settings for
this feature, touch the
Settings icon on the
infotainment home page.
Select“Vehicle” to display the
list of available options and
select “Remote Lock, Unlock,
Start”.
Keyless Liftgate Opening
Press the touch pad on the
liftgate handle to open the
liftgate if the remote key is
within 1 m (3 ft).
Key Access
To access a vehicle with a
weak remote key battery, see
Door Locks 020.
Programming Remote
Keys to the Vehicle
Only remote keys programmed
to the vehicle will work. If a
remote key is lost or stolen, a
replacement can be purchased
and programmed through your
dealer. The vehicle can be
reprogrammed so that lost or
stolen remote keys no longer
work. Each vehicle can have
up to eight remote keys
matched to it.
Programming with
Recognized Remote Keys
A new remote key can be
programmed to the vehicle
when there are two
recognized remote keys.
To program, the vehicle must
be off and all of the remote
keys, both currently
recognized and new, must be
with you.
1. Place the two recognized remote keys in the
cupholder.
2. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver
door handle. See Door
Locks 020. Insert the
vehicle key of the remote
key into the key lock
cylinder on the driver door
and turn the key counterclockwise, to the
unlock position, five times
within 10 seconds.
The DIC displays READY
FOR REMOTE #3, 4,
5, ETC.
3. Place the new remote key
into the remote key
pocket. The remote key
pocket is inside the center
console storage area
between the driver and
front passenger seats. The
storage area will need to
be opened and the storage
tray lifted up to access the
remote key pocket.

4. Place the new remote keyinto the remote key
pocket. The remote key
pocket is inside the center
console storage area
between the driver and
front passenger seats. The
storage area will need to
be opened and the storage
tray lifted up to access the
remote key pocket.
5. Press ENGINE START/ STOP. When the remote
key is learned the DIC
display will show that it is
ready to program the next
remote key. 6. Remove the remote key
from the remote key
pocket and press the
remote key
KorQbutton.
To program additional
remote keys, repeat
Steps 4–6.
When all additional remote
keys are programmed,
press and hold ENGINE
START/STOP for
12 seconds to exit
programming mode.
7. Return the key back into the remote key.
8. Replace the key lock cylinder cap. See Door
Locks 020.
Starting the Vehicle with a
Low Remote Key Battery
When the vehicle is started,
if the remote key battery is
depleted, there is signal
interference, or the remote
key has been idle for a while,
the DIC may display NO
REMOTE DETECTED or NO
REMOTE KEY WAS DETECTED PLACE KEY IN
TRANSMITTER POCKET
THEN START YOUR VEHICLE.
For improved vehicle security,
the remote key is equipped
with a motion sensor. First,
move the remote key slightly
and try starting the vehicle.
If the vehicle still does not
start, and the DIC displays the
same warnings above, follow
the steps shown below.
To start the vehicle:
1. Open the center console storage area and the
storage tray.

Inclination and Intrusion
Sensors Disable Switch
It is recommended that the
inclination and intrusion
sensors be deactivated if pets
are left in the vehicle or if the
vehicle is being transported.
With the vehicle turned off,
press
oin the overhead
console. The indicator light will
come on momentarily,
indicating that the sensor has
been disabled until the next
time the alarm system is
armed.
Steering Column Lock
If equipped, the steering
column lock is a
theft-deterrent device. This
feature locks the steering
column when the vehicle is
turned off and the driver door
is opened, or when the driver
door is opened and then the
vehicle is turned off. The
steering column unlocks when
the vehicle is turned on. The Driver Information Center
(DIC) may display one of these
messages:
.A message to service the
steering column lock
indicates that an issue has
been detected with the
column lock feature and the
vehicle should be serviced.
.A message that the steering
column is locked indicates
that the engine is running,
but the steering column is
still locked. It is normal for
the column to be locked
during a remote start, but
the column should unlock
after the brake pedal is
pressed and the vehicle is
started. No message will
display during a remote
start.
.A message that the steering
wheel must be turned and
the vehicle must be started
again indicates that the
column lock mechanism is
bound, the column locking
device was unable to unlock
the steering column, and thevehicle did not start. If this
happens, immediately turn
the steering wheel from side
to side to unbind the column
lock. If this does not unlock
the steering column, turn the
vehicle off and open the
driver door to reset the
system. Then turn the
vehicle on and immediately
turn the steering wheel side
to side for about 15 seconds.
In some cases, it may take
significant force to unbind
the column.
To keep the steering column
from binding, straighten the
front wheels before turning
off the vehicle.

Immobilizer Operation
This vehicle has a passive
theft-deterrent system.

The system does not have to
be manually armed or
disarmed.
The vehicle is automatically
immobilized when the vehicle
is turned off.
The immobilization system is
disarmed when the ignition is
on or in accessory mode and a
valid remote key is present in
the vehicle.
The security light, in the
instrument cluster, comes on if
there is a problem with arming
or disarming the
theft-deterrent system.
The system has one or more
remote keys matched to an
immobilizer control unit in your
vehicle. Only a correctly
matched remote key will startthe vehicle. If the remote key
is ever damaged, you may not
be able to start your vehicle.
When trying to start the
vehicle, the security light may
come on briefly when the
ignition is turned on.
If the engine does not start
and the security light stays on,
there is a problem with the
system. Turn the ignition off
and try again.
If the vehicle will not change
ignition modes (accessory
mode, on, off), and the remote
key appears to be undamaged,
try another remote key. Or,
you may try placing the
remote key in the remote key
pocket located in the center
console. See Remote Key
Operation
09.
If the ignition mode will not
change with the other remote
key or in the remote key
pocket, your vehicle needs
service. If the ignition does
change modes, the first
remote key may be faulty. See your dealer who can service
the theft-deterrent system
and have a new remote key
programmed to the vehicle.
It is possible for the
immobilizer system to learn
new or replacement remote
keys. Up to eight remote keys
can be programmed for the
vehicle. To program additional
remote keys, see
“Programming Remote Keys to
the Vehicle”
under Remote
Key Operation 09.
Do not leave the remote key
or device that disarms or
deactivates the
theft-deterrent system in the
vehicle.

If available, the buttons are on
the rear of the center console.
With the engine running, press
MorLto heat the left or right
outboard seat cushion. An
indicator on the climate
control display appears when
this feature is on.
This feature turns on at the
highest setting. With each
press of the button, the
heated seat changes to the
next lower setting, and then
the off setting. Three lights
indicate the highest setting,
and one light indicates the lowest. If the heated seats are
on high, the level may
automatically be lowered after
approximately 30 minutes.
Third Row Seats
{Warning
Using the third row seating
position while the second
row is folded, or pushed
forward in the entry
position, could cause injury
in a sudden stop or crash.
Be sure to return the seat to
the passenger seating
position. Push and pull on
the seat to make sure it is
locked into place.
Caution
Folding a rear seat with the
seat belts still fastened may
cause damage to the seat or
the seat belts. Always
unbuckle the seat belts and

return them to their normal
stowed position before
folding a rear seat.
Power Seatback Folding
(If Equipped)
1. Remove objects on thefloor in front of or on the
second row seat, or in the
seat tracks on the floor.
2. If the second row seat is in the full rear position, adjust
it forward to allow the
third row seat to fold
fully flat.

glove box. Close until it
latches. Use the vehicle key to

Cupholders in the center
console are under a cover. Do
not place items on the cover.
To open, slide the cover
forward.

the cover will close

Rear Cupholders
If equipped with cupholders in
the back center console, pull
on the handle to access.
If equipped, the rear seat
armrest may have cupholders.
Pull the armrest down to
access the cupholders.
Rear Storage
There is storage in the floor of
the rear cargo area. Lift the
handle to access.
Center Console
Storage
The SD card is used for
navigation. Do not remove the
card from the holder. See the
infotainment section.

Press the button to access
the storage area under the
armrest. There may be an
additional storage tray inside.
There are two USB ports and
an SD card slot inside.
There are two charge-only
USB ports on the rear of the
center console.

The cargo cover crossbars
must be locked and fully

cargo cover could strike

turn, or in a crash. Store the
cargo cover securely or
remove it from the vehicle.

Do not place objects on the
cargo cover. Sudden stops
or turns can cause objects
to be thrown in the vehicle.
You or others could be
injured.

To avoid personal injury,
keep hands clear of cover
hinge points while folding
the cargo cover.

If equipped, push the
windshield wiper lever forward
to spray washer fluid on the
rear camera lens. The lever
returns to its starting position
when released. See Rear
Camera Mirror039.
Activating the Rear Camera
Washer also cleans the rear
window and the Night Vision
Camera, if equipped. See Night
Vision System 0333.
Compass
The vehicle may have a
compass display on the Driver
Information Center (DIC). The
compass receives its heading
and other information from
the Global Positioning
System (GPS) antenna,
StabiliTrak/Electronic Stability
Control (ESC), and vehicle
speed information.
The compass system is
designed to operate for a
certain number of miles or
degrees of turn before
needing a signal from the GPS satellites. When the compass
display shows CAL, drive the
vehicle for a short distance in
an open area where it can
receive a GPS signal. The
compass system will
automatically determine when
a GPS signal is restored and
provide a heading again.
Clock
Set the time and date using
the infotainment system. See
"Time/Date" under Settings

Power Outlets
Power Outlets 12-Volt Direct
Current
The vehicle has two 12-volt
outlets that can be used to
plug in electrical equipment,
such as a cell phone or MP3
player.
The power outlets are located:
.Under the front of the
center console.
.In the rear cargo area.
Lift the cover to access the
outlet and replace when not
in use.
{Warning
Power is always supplied to
the rear cargo power outlet.
Do not leave electrical
equipment plugged in when
the vehicle is not in use (Continued)

The airbag readiness light
comes on for several seconds
when the vehicle is started.
If the light does not come on
then, have it fixed immediately.
{Warning
If the airbag readiness light
stays on after the vehicle is
started or comes on while
driving, it means the airbag
system might not be working
properly. The airbags in the
vehicle might not inflate in a
crash, or they could even
inflate without a crash. To
help avoid injury, have the
vehicle serviced right away.
If there is a problem with the
airbag system, a Driver
Information Center (DIC)
message may also come on.
Passenger Airbag
Status Indicator
The vehicle has a passenger
sensing system. See
Passenger Sensing System
0 78. The overhead console
has a passenger airbag status
indicator.
When the vehicle is started,
the passenger airbag status
indicator will light ON and OFF,
and the symbols for on and
off, for several seconds as a
system check. Then, after
several more seconds, the
status indicator will light either
ON or OFF, and the symbol for
on or off, to let you know the
status of the front outboard
passenger frontal airbag. If the word ON, and the
symbol for on, are lit on the
passenger airbag status
indicator, it means that the
front outboard passenger
frontal airbag is allowed to
inflate.
If the word OFF, and the
symbol for off, are lit on the
passenger airbag status
indicator, it means that the
passenger sensing system has
turned off the front outboard
passenger frontal airbag.
If, after several seconds, both
status indicator lights remain
on, or if there are no lights at
all, there may be a problem
with the lights or the
passenger sensing system.
See your dealer for service.
{Warning
If the airbag readiness light
ever comes on and stays on,
it means that something may
be wrong with the airbag
system. To help avoid injury
