Your speedometer lets
you see your speed in
both miles per hour
(mph) and kilometers
per hour
(krdh).
Your odometer shows how far your vehicle has been driven, in either miles
(used in the
U.S .) or kilometers (used in Canada).
Tamper Resistant Odometer
___"..." ..
Standard Cluster Tachometer Cluster
Your odometer is tamper resistant. It will show silver lines between\
the
numbers
if someone tries to turn it back.
You may wonder what happens if your vehicle needs a new odometer
installed. If the new one can be set
to the mileage total of the old odometer,
then it must be. But if it can't, then it's
set at zero, and a label must be put
on the driver's door to show the old mileage reading when the ne\
w
odometer was installed.

Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine Doing Your Own Service Work
If you want to do some of your own service work, you’ll want to get the
proper
GM Service Manual. It tells you much more about how to service
your vehicle than this manual can.
To order the proper service manual, see
“Service Publications” in the Index.
You should keep a record with all parts receipts and list the mileage and the
date
of any service work you perform. See “Maintenance Record” in the
Index.
I NOTICE:
If you try to do your own service work without knowing enough
about it, your vehicle could be damaged.
Fuel
Use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher. Use premium
unleaded gasoline rated at 91 octane or higher for high power performance,
when towing a trailer or with a high payload requirement.
But when
operating with a light load as a normal condition, you may use middle grade
or regular unleaded gasolines.

The services shown in this schedule up to 100,000 miles (166 000 km)
should be performed after 100,000 miles (166 000 km) at the same intervals.
Footnotes
? The California Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to
perform this maintenance item will not nullify the emission warranty or
limit recall liability prior to the completion of vehicle useful life. We,
however, urge that all recommended maintenance services be performed at
the indicated intervals and the maintenance be recorded in “\
Section
E:
Maintenance Record.”
