Information
This section provides a brief
overview about some of the
important features that may or may
not be on your specific vehicle.
For more detailed information, refer
to each of the features which can be
found later in this owner’s manual.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter may be used to lock and
unlock the doors from up to 60 m
(197 ft) away from the vehicle.
With Remote Start Shown
Press the key release button near
the bottom of the RKE transmitter to
remove the key. The key can be
used for all locks.
Press
Kto unlock the driver door or
all doors depending on the vehicle
personalization settings.
The fuel door will also be unlocked,
if equipped.
Press
Qto lock all doors and the
fuel door, if equipped.
Lock and unlock feedback can be
personalized. See Vehicle
Personalization 0137. Press
Xtwice quickly to release
the trunk.
If equipped, press and release
K
and then immediately press and
hold
Mcontinuously to open the
convertible top all the way. The
vehicle must be off to operate the
convertible top with the RKE
transmitter. The top will stop
movement approximately
one second after
Mis released.
To stop the top immediately, press
7,K, orQon the RKE transmitter.Mwill only open the convertible
top.

Press and release
7to initiate
vehicle locator.
Press and hold
7for at least
three seconds to sound the panic
alarm.
Press
7again to cancel the panic
alarm.

SeeKeys 028 and Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) System Operation 029.
Remote Vehicle Start
If equipped, the engine can be
started from outside of the vehicle.
Starting the Vehicle
1. Press and releaseQon the
RKE transmitter.
2. Immediately press and hold
/
for at least four seconds or until
the turn signal lamps flash.
Start the vehicle normally after
entering.
When the vehicle starts, the parking
lamps will turn on.
Remote start can be extended.
Canceling a Remote Start
To cancel a remote start, do one of
the following:
. Press and hold
/until the
parking lamps turn off.
. Turn on the hazard warning
flashers. .
Turn the vehicle on and then off.

Door Locks
To lock or unlock a door from the
outside, press
QorKon the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter or use the key in the
door. The key lock cylinder is
covered with a cap. See Door Locks
0 37.
For Keyless Access, press the
button on the door handle when the
RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft).

To lock or unlock a door from the
inside, press
QorKon the power
door lock switch.
Pull once on a door handle to
unlock it and again to open it.

Trunk Release
To open the trunk:

Press the trunk release button
on the lower portion of the
driver door.
