Doing Your Own
Service Work
{Warning

to vehicle systems. Do not allow
contaminants to contact the fluids,
reservoir caps, or dipsticks.
Hood
To open the hood:
1. Pull the hood release lever with this symbol on it. It is inside the
vehicle to the lower left of the
steering wheel.

2. Go to the front of the vehicle tofind the secondary hood release
handle. The handle is under the
front edge of the hood near the
center. Push the handle to the
right and at the same time raise
the hood. To close the hood:
1. Before closing the hood, be sure
all the filler caps are properly
installed.
2. Lower the hood to 20 cm (8 in) above the vehicle and release it
so it fully latches. Check to
make sure the hood is firmly
closed by lifting up on the front
edge of the hood. Repeat the
process if necessary.

2. Remove the headlamp bulbcover by turning it
counterclockwise.
3. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it
from the headlamp assembly
and pull it straight out.
4. Unplug the electrical connector from the old bulb by releasing
the clip on the bulb socket.
Turn Signal/Sidemarker/
Parking Lamp
1. Open the hood.
2. Turn the bulb socket
counterclockwise to remove it
from the headlamp assembly
and pull it straight out.
3. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out of the bulb socket.
Taillamps, Turn Signal,
Stoplamps, and Back-Up
Lamps
1. Open the tailgate.
2. Remove the two rear lampassembly screws.
3. Pull the rear lamp assembly outboard away from the box side
until the retainers release. There
will be a noise when the
retainers release.
4. Pull the rear lamp assembly
straight back to remove it from
the vehicle.
5. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise.
6. Pull the bulb straight out from the socket.
7. Replace the bulb, then insert the bulb socket into the rear lamp
assembly and turn clockwise.
