Cruise Control
5:Press to turn the system on oroff. A white indicator comes on inthe instrument cluster when cruiseis turned on.
+RES :If there is a set speed inmemory, press briefly to resume tothat speed or press and hold toaccelerate. If cruise control isalready active, use to increasevehicle speed.
SET✓:Press briefly to set thespeed and activate cruise control.If cruise control is already active,use to decrease vehicle speed.
*:Press to disengage cruisecontrol without erasing the setspeed from memory.

Driver Information Center
(DIC) (Base Level)
The DIC display is in the center ofthe instrument cluster. It shows thestatus of many vehicle systems. Thecontrols for the DIC are on the turnsignal lever.

If the key is unintentionally
rotated while the vehicle is
running, the ignition could be
moved out of the RUN position.
This could be caused by heavy
items hanging from the key ring,
or by large or long items attached
to the key ring that could be
contacted by the driver or
steering wheel. If the ignition
moves out of the RUN position,
the engine will shut off, braking
and steering power assist may be

impacted, and airbags may not
deploy. To reduce the risk of
unintentional rotation of the
ignition key, do not change the
way the ignition key and Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter,
if equipped, are connected to the
provided key rings.
The ignition key and key rings, andRKE transmitter, if equipped, aredesigned to work together as asystem to reduce the risk ofunintentionally moving the key outof the RUN position. The ignitionkey has a small hole to allowattachment of the provided key ring.It is important that any replacementignition keys have a small hole. Seeyour dealer if a replacement key isrequired.
The combination and size of therings that came with your keys werespecifically selected for yourvehicle. The rings are connected tothe key like two links of a chain toreduce the risk of unintentionally
moving the key out of the RUNposition. Do not add any additionalitems to the ring attached to theignition key. Attach additional itemsonly to the second ring, and limitadded items to a few essential keysor small, light items no larger thanan RKE transmitter.

The engine will continue to run for10 minutes. Repeat the steps forone 10-minute time extension. Placethe key in ON/RUN to operate thevehicle.
Extending Engine Run Time
The engine run time can beextended by 10 minutes, for a totalof 20 minutes, if during the first10 minutes Steps 1–2arerepeatedwhile the engine is still running. Anextension can be requested,30 seconds after starting.
Amaximumoftworemotestarts,or a single start with an extension,is allowed between ignition cycles.
The vehicle's ignition must beturned on and then back off to useremote start again.
Canceling a Remote Start
To c a n c e l a r e m o t e s t a r t , d o o n e o fthe following:
.Press and hold/until the
parking lamps turn off.
.Turn on the hazard warningflashers.
.Turn the vehicle on and then off.
Door Locks
{Warning
Unlocked doors can be
dangerous.
.Passengers, especiallychildren, can easily openthe doors and fall out of amoving vehicle. When adoor is locked, the handlewill not open it. The chanceof being thrown out of thevehicle in a crash isincreased if the doors arenot locked. So, allpassengers should wearsafety belts properly and thedoors should be lockedwhenever the vehicle isdriven.

permanent injuries or evendeath from heat stroke.Always lock the vehiclewhenever leaving it.
.Outsiders can easily enterthrough an unlocked doorwhen you slow down or stopthe vehicle. Locking thedoors can help prevent thisfrom happening.

If Unlocked Door Anti-Lockout isturned on, the vehicle is off with thedriver door open, and door lockingis requested, all the doors will lockand only the driver door will unlock.The Unlocked Door Anti-Lockoutfeature can be turned on or off usingthe vehicle personalization menus.SeeVehicle Personalization0139.
Safety Locks
If equipped, the rear door safetylocks prevent passengers fromopening the rear doors from insidethe vehicle.
Press{to activate the safety locks
on the rear doors. The indicator lightcomes on when activated. Thevehicle must be on, in ACC/ACCESSORY, or in RetainedAccessory Power (RAP). SeeRetained Accessory Power(RAP)0237.
If the indicator light flashes, thefeature may not be working properly.
Doors
Tailgate
{Warning
It is extremely dangerous to ride
on the tailgate, even when the
vehicle is operated at low speeds.
People riding on the tailgate can
easily lose their balance and fall
in response to vehicle
maneuvers. Falling from a moving
vehicle may result in serious
injuries or death. Do not allow
people to ride on the tailgate. Be
sure everyone in your vehicle is in
aseatandusingasafetybelt
properly.
On vehicles with a lock on thetailgate, use the key to lock orunlock the tailgate. The power doorlocks will not lock or unlock thetailgate.
Open the tailgate by lifting up on itshandle while pulling thetailgate down.

Automatic Dimming
Rearview Mirror
If equipped, the mirror willautomatically reduce the glare of theheadlamps from behind. Thedimming feature comes on eachtime the vehicle is started.
Windows
{Warning
Never leave a child, a helpless
adult, or a pet alone in a vehicle,
especially with the windows
closed in warm or hot weather.
They can be overcome by the
extreme heat and suffer
permanent injuries or even death
from heat stroke.
The vehicle aerodynamics aredesigned to improve fuel economyperformance. This may result in a
pulsing sound when either rearwindow is down and the frontwindows are up. To reduce thesound, open either a front windowor the sunroof, if equipped.
Power Windows
{Warning
Children could be seriously
injured or killed if caught in the
path of a closing window. Never
leave keys in a vehicle with
children. When there are children
in the rear seat, use the window
lockout button to prevent
operation of the windows. See
Keys027.

If either seatback is not locked, it
could move forward in a sudden
stop or crash. That could cause
injury to the person sitting there.
Always push and pull on the
seatbacks to be sure they are
locked.
To r e c l i n e t h e s e a t b a c k :
1. Lift the lever.
2. Move the seatback to thedesired position, and thenrelease the lever to lock theseatback in place.
3. Push and pull on the seatbackto make sure it is locked.
To r e t u r n t h e s e a t b a c k t o t h e u p r i g h tposition:
1. Lift the lever fully withoutapplying pressure to theseatback.
2. Push and pull on the seatbackto make sure it is locked.
Heated Front Seats
{Warning
If you cannot feel temperature
change or pain to the skin, the
seat heater may cause burns. To
reduce the risk of burns, people
with such a condition should use
care when using the seat heater,
especially for long periods of
time. Do not place anything on

the seat that insulates against
heat, such as a blanket, cushion,
cover, or similar item. This may
cause the seat heater to
overheat. An overheated seat
heater may cause a burn or may
damage the seat.
If equipped, the buttons are on thecenter stack. To operate, the enginemust be running.

Child restraints built after March2014 will be labeled with thespecific child weight up to which theLATCH system can be used toinstall the restraint.
The following explains how to attachachildrestraintwiththeseattachments in the vehicle.
Not all vehicle seating positions orchild restraints have lower anchorsand attachments or top tetheranchors and attachments. In thiscase, the safety belt must be used(with top tether where available) tosecure the child restraint. Lower Anchors
Lower anchors (1) are metal barsbuilt into the vehicle. There are twolower anchors for each LATCHseating position that willaccommodate a child restraint withlower attachments (2).
Top Tether Anchor
Atoptether(3,4)isusedtosecurethe top of the child restraint to thevehicle. A top tether anchor is builtinto the vehicle. The top tetherattachment hook (2) on the childrestraint connects to the top tetheranchor in the vehicle in order toreduce the forward movement androtation of the child restraint duringdriving or in a crash.
The child restraint may have asingle tether (3) or a dual tether (4).Either will have a single attachmenthook (2) to secure the top tether tothe anchor.

LO :Use for slow wipes.
INT :Move the lever up to INT for
intermittent wipes, then turn thex
INT band up for more frequentwipes or down for less frequentwipes.
OFF :Use to turn the wipers off.
1X :For a single wipe, briefly movethe wiper lever down. For severalwipes, hold the wiper lever down.
nL:Pull the windshield wiperlever toward you to spray windshieldwasher fluid and activate the wipers.The wipers will continue until thelever is released or the maximumwash time is reached. When thewindshield wiper lever is released,additional wipes may occurdepending on how long thewindshield washer had been
activated. SeeWasher Fluid0298for information on filling thewindshield washer fluid reservoir.
{Warning
In freezing weather, do not use
the washer until the windshield is
warmed. Otherwise the washer
fluid can form ice on the
windshield, blocking your vision.
Clear snow and ice from the wiperblades and windshield before usingthem. If frozen to the windshield,carefully loosen or thaw them.Damaged blades should bereplaced. SeeWiper BladeReplacement0305.
Heavy snow or ice can overload thewiper motor.
Wiper Parking
If the ignition is turned to OFF whilethe wipers are on LO, HI, or INT,they will immediately stop.
If the windshield wiper lever is thenmoved to OFF before the driverdoor is opened or within 10 minutes,the wipers will restart and move tothe base of the windshield.
If the ignition is turned to OFF whilethe wipers are performing wipes dueto windshield washing, the wiperscontinue to run until they reach thebase of the windshield.
Compass
The vehicle may have a compassdisplay on the Driver InformationCenter (DIC). The compass receivesits heading and other informationfrom the Global PositioningSystem (GPS) antenna,StabiliTrak®,andvehiclespeedinformation.
The compass system is designed tooperate for a certain number ofmiles or degrees of turn beforeneeding a signal from the GPSsatellites. When the compassdisplay shows CAL, drive thevehicle for a short distance in anopen area where it can receive aGPS signal. The compass system

Speed Warning :The SpeedWarning display allows the driver toset a speed that they do not want toexceed. To set the Speed Warning,
presspwhen Speed Warning is
displayed. Pressworxto adjust
the value. PressVto set the speed.
Once the speed is set, this feature
can be turned off by pressingV
while viewing this page. If theselected speed limit is exceeded, apop-up warning is displayed with achime.
Speedometer
The speedometer shows thevehicle's speed in either kilometersper hour (km/h) or miles perhour (mph).
Odometer
The odometer shows how far thevehicle has been driven, in eitherkilometers or miles.
Trip Odometer
The trip odometer shows how farthe vehicle has been driven sincethe trip odometer was last reset.
The trip odometer is accessed andreset through the Driver InformationCenter (DIC). SeeDriverInformation Center (DIC) (BaseLevel)0126orDriver InformationCenter (DIC) (Uplevel)0129.
Tachometer
The tachometer displays the enginespeed in revolutions perminute (rpm).

Door Ajar Light (Uplevel
Cluster)
This light comes on when a door isopen or not securely latched. Beforedriving, check that all doors areproperly closed.
Information Displays
Driver Information Center
(DIC) (Base Level)
The DIC displays information aboutyour vehicle. It also displayswarning messages if a systemproblem is detected. SeeVehicleMessages0132.Allmessagesappear in the DIC display in thecenter of the instrument cluster.
DIC Operation and Displays
The DIC has different displayswhich can be accessed by using theDIC buttons on the turn signal lever.
DIC Buttons
1.SET/CLR:Press to set,or press and hold to clear, themenu item displayed.
2.wx:Use the band to scroll
through the items ineach menu.
3.MENU:Press to display theTrip/Fuel Menu, the VehicleInformation Menu, and theECO Menu. This button is alsoused to return to or exit the lastscreen displayed on the DIC.
If the vehicle has a diesel engine,see the Duramax diesel supplementfor additional DIC pages.
Trip/Fuel Menu (TRIP) Items
Press MENU on the turn signallever until the TRIP menu displays.
Usewxto scroll through the
menu items. Not all items areavailable on every vehicle. Thefollowing is a list of all possiblemenu items:
Digital Speed :Displays how fastthe vehicle is moving in eitherkilometers per hour (km/h) or milesper hour (mph). The speedometercannot be reset.
