Cruise Control
5:Press to turn the system on or
off. The indicator light is white when
cruise control is on and turns off
when cruise control is off.
+RES: Press briefly to make the
vehicle resume to a previously set
speed, or press and hold to
accelerate. If cruise control is
already active, use to increase
vehicle speed. SET−:
Press briefly to set the
speed and activate cruise control.
If cruise control is already active,
use to decrease vehicle speed.
*: Press to disengage cruise
control without erasing the set
speed from memory.

Infotainment System
The base radio and base radio with
connectivity information is included
in this manual. See the infotainment
manual for information on the
uplevel radios, audio players,
phone, navigation system, Rear
Seat Entertainment (RSE), and
voice or speech recognition,
if equipped.
Driver Information
Center (DIC)
The DIC display is in the instrument
cluster. It shows the status of many
vehicle systems. If the vehicle has the base level
instrument cluster, the trip odometer
reset stem is used to operate
the DIC.
If the vehicle has the uplevel
instrument cluster, the right steering
wheel controls are used to operate
the DIC.

oorp: Press to move between
the interactive display zones in the
cluster.

.Brake gradually and avoid
abrupt stops.
.Avoid idling the engine for long
periods of time.
.When road and weather
conditions are appropriate, use
cruise control.
.Always follow posted speed
limits or drive more slowly when
conditions require.

the same TPC Spec number
molded into the tire's sidewall

Cluster Menu (Uplevel Cluster)
There is an interactive display area
in the center of the instrument
cluster.
Use the right steering wheel control
to open and scroll through the
different items and displays.
Press
oto access the cluster
applications. Use
worxto scroll
through the list of available
applications. Not all applications will
be available on all vehicles.
.Info App. This is where the
selected Driver Information
Center (DIC) displays can be
viewed. See “Driver Information
Center (DIC) (Uplevel)” in the
Index.

Audio
Press
Vto select the Audio app,
then press
pto enter the Audio
menu. In the Audio menu browse for
music, select from the favorites,
or change the audio source. Use
w
orxto change the station or go to
the next or previous track.
Phone
Press
Vto select the Phone app,
then press
pto enter the Phone
menu. In the Phone menu, if there is
no active phone call, view recent calls, scroll through contacts, select
from the favorites, or change the
phone source. If there is an active
call, mute the phone or switch to
handset operation.
Navigation
Press
Vto select the Navigation
app, then press
pto enter the
Navigation menu. If there is no
active route, you can resume the
last route and turn the voice
prompts on/off. If there is an active
route, you can cancel the route.
Settings
Press
Vto select the Settings app.
Use
worxto scroll through items
in the Settings menu.
Units: Press
pwhile Units is
displayed to enter the Units menu.
Choose English or metric units by
pressing
Vwhile the desired item is
highlighted. A checkmark will be
displayed next to the selected item.

SeeEngine Oil Messages on
page 5-37. The oil should be
changed as soon as possible. See
Engine Oil on page 10-10. In
addition to the engine oil life system
monitoring the oil life, additional
maintenance is recommended in the
Maintenance Schedule. See
Maintenance Schedule on
page 11-3.
The Oil Life display must be reset
after each oil change. It will not
reset itself. Do not to reset the Oil
Life display at any time other than
when the oil has just been changed.
It cannot be reset accurately until
the next oil change. To reset the
engine oil life system, press and
hold
Vfor several seconds while
the Oil Life display is active. See
Engine Oil Life System on
page 10-13.
Tire Pressure: Shows the
approximate pressures of all four
tires. Tire pressure is displayed in
either kilopascal (kPa) or in pounds
per square inch (psi). If the pressure is low, the value for that tire is
shown in amber. See
Tire Pressure
Monitor System on page 10-62 and
Tire Pressure Monitor Operation on
page 10-63.
Fuel Economy: The center
displays the instantaneous fuel
economy as a number and bar
graph. Displayed above the bar
graph is a running average of fuel
economy for the most recently
traveled selected distance.
Displayed below the bar graph is
the best average fuel economy that
has been achieved for the selected
distance. The selected distance is
displayed at the top of the page as
“last xxx mi/km.” Next to the
odometer, the Active Fuel
Management displays the number of
cylinders the vehicle is running on.

Press
pto select the distance or
reset best value. Use
wandxto
choose the distance and press
V.
Press
wandxto select “Reset Best Score.”
Press
Vto reset the
best average fuel economy. After
reset, the best value displays “-,-”
until the selected distance has been
traveled.
The display provides information on
how current driving behavior affects
the running average and how well
recent driving compares to the best
that has been achieved for the
selected distance.
Timer: This display can be used as
a timer. To start the timer, press
V
while this display is active. The
display will show the amount of time
that has passed since the timer was
last reset. To stop the timer, press
V
briefly while this display is active
and the timer is running. To reset
the timer to zero, press and hold
V
while this display is active, or presspand select reset.
Speed Limit (If Equipped): Shows
sign information, which comes from
a roadway database in the onboard
navigation.

Infotainment
Read the following pages to
become familiar with the
infotainment system featured in this
owner manual.
{Warning
Taking your eyes off the road for
too long or too often while using
any infotainment features can
cause a crash resulting in injury
or death. Do not give extended
attention to infotainment tasks
while driving. Focus your attention
on driving and limit glances to the
instrument cluster or center stack
screens. Use voice guidance
whenever possible.
The infotainment system has built-in
features intended to help with this
by disabling some functions when

driving. Some functions may gray
out when the vehicle is moving,
indicating they are unavailable.
All functions are available when the
vehicle is parked. Before driving:
.Become familiar with the
infotainment system operation
and buttons on the faceplate.
.Set up the audio by presetting
favorite stations, setting the
tone, and adjusting the
speakers.
.Set up phone numbers in
advance so they can be called
easily by pressing a single
button or by using a single voice
command for vehicles equipped
with phone capability.See
Defensive Driving on page 9-3.
The vehicle has Retained
Accessory Power (RAP). With RAP,
the audio system can be played
even after the ignition is turned off.
See Retained Accessory Power
(RAP) on page 9-29.

Theft-Deterrent Feature
TheftLock®is designed to
discourage theft of the vehicle's
radio by learning a portion of the
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
The radio does not operate if it is
stolen or moved to a different
vehicle.

The infotainment system is
controlled by using the buttons on
the faceplate and steering wheel
controls, if equipped. See Steering

display the OnStar Turn-by-Turn

Pandora (If Equipped)
Select the PANDORA icon to begin

Setting Radio Preferences
Select the SETTINGS screen icon
to display the Settings menu and
the following may display:
Time and Date: SeeClock on
page 5-5.
Language (Current Language):
This will set the display language in
the radio and instrument cluster.
Select to display a list of languages.
Select
oBACK to go back to the
previous menu. Valet Mode:
Using the circular numeric keypad,
enter a four-digit code:
1. Turn the MENU knob to highlight
a number.
2. Press the MENU knob to select it. Do this for each one of the
four digits. Select Enter to go to
the confirmation screen.
3. Re-enter the four-digit code. Select LOCK to lock the system.
4. Enter the four-digit code to unlock the system. Select
oBACK to go back to the
previous menu.

Display: Press the MENU knob to

Navigation
OnStar®System
An OnStar®subscriber has the
ability to connect to the OnStar
system (if equipped) and ask an
OnStar Advisor to download a
destination into the embedded
navigation system. OnStar will send
address information and location
coordinates of the destination into
the navigation system.
OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation
Select the MENU screen button to
go to the Turn-by-Turn menu.
The Turn-by-Turn menu consists of
the following options:
.Update Route (only shows if the
vehicle is off the route)
.Cancel Route
.My Destination
.Route Preview
.Repeat
When the system is downloading a
route, the only option available is
Cancel Route. Once the route is
downloaded, the additional list items
display. My Destination
If My Destination is selected, a
special version of the Maneuver
View displays. The Destination
Address is shown in the Street
Name field and the total distance to
the destination is shown in the
Distance to Maneuver View. Select
the DONE screen button to return to
the Maneuver View.
Route Preview
.If Route Preview is selected, a
special version of the Maneuver
View displays.

.Select the NEXT screen button
to display the next maneuver
information, including distance
between it and the previous
maneuver.
.Select the PREV screen button
to display the previous
maneuver information, including
distance between it and the
previous maneuver.
While on the current maneuver,
the PREV screen button is
hidden. If on the last maneuver,
the NEXT screen button is
hidden.
.Select the DONE screen button
to return to the Maneuver View.
Repeat
Select Repeat to go back to the
Maneuver View. The audible
maneuver prompt is repeated. No Active Route
There is no active route:
.If the vehicle does not have
navigation and the navigation
application is selected from the
Home screen, a screen stating,
“No Active Route”
displays.
Select the “Call OnStar” screen
button.
.If the system receives the
indication that there is an active
OnStar subscription, the help
text is displayed with instructions
on how to set up a route.
.If the vehicle is not equipped
with OnStar, the navigation
application icon is removed from the home screen and
applications tray, so this view is
not accessible.
Mutually Exclusive from
Embedded Navigation
If the vehicle has both a built in
navigation system and OnStar, the
system only allows one application
at a time. If an OnStar Turn-by-Turn
route is in progress, all internal
navigation functions are disabled
until the route is completed.
When the navigation application is
selected, OnStar Turn-by-Turn
screens display.
Canceling an Embedded Route
If a route is in progress using the
vehicle navigation system and an
OnStar Turn-by-Turn is requested,
the vehicle navigation system route
is cancelled automatically. The
embedded route can only be
resumed manually after completing
or canceling the Turn-by-Turn route.
