The windshield washer reservoir is
used for the windshield and the rear
window. Check the fluid level in the
reservoir if either washer is not
working. See Washer Fluid 0257.
Compass
The vehicle may have a compass
display in the Driver Information
Center (DIC).
Setting the Compass Zone
Under certain circumstances, such
as during a long trip or moving to a
new area, the compass zone will
need to be reset. If the compass is
not set to the correct zone, it may
give false readings. The compass
zone should be set to the area in
which the vehicle is currently
traveling.
Use the DIC buttons to set the
compass zone:
1. While the vehicle is in P (Park), press the MENU button to
display the DIC menu. 2. Press and hold SET/CLR while
the Set Area display is active.3. Find the vehicle's currentlocation and zone number on
the map. Zones 1 through 15
are available.
4. Use
w xto change to the
correct zone number.
5. Press SET/CLR to confirm the setting.
Clock
Radio without Touchscreen
The infotainment system controls
are used to access the time and
date settings through the menu
system. See Operation0157 on
how to use the menu system.
Setting the Time and Date
When Auto Set is enabled the time
cannot be manually set.
1. Press MENU, then select Settings.
2. Select Time and Date.
3. Select Set Time or Set Date.
4. Turn MENU to change the value.
5. Press MENU to select the next value.
6. Turn MENU to change the value.
7. To exit without saving, press BACK at any time; or to save
and return to the Time and
Date menu, press MENU
multiple times.

Auto Set
Auto Set requires an active
connection to OnStar.
When Auto Set is enabled, the time
displayed on the clock may not
update immediately when driving
into a new time zone.
When Auto Set is enabled, the time
cannot be manually set.
From the Set Time or Set
Date menu:1. Press the preset button under Auto Set.
2. Turn MENU to select Off (Manual) or On-Cell Network,
then press MENU to select it
and return to the Time and
Date menu.
3. To exit without saving, press BACK at any time.
Setting the 12/24 Hour Format
From the Set Time menu:
1. Press the preset button under 12-24 HR to change between
12 hour and 24 hour modes. 2. To return to the Time and Date
menu, press BACK at any time.
Radio with Touchscreen
The infotainment system controls
are used to access the time and
date settings through the menu
system. See Operation0157 on
how to use the menu system.
Setting the Time and Date

Personalization
Personalization Menu (Radio
without Touchscreen)
The audio system controls are used
to access the personalization
menus for customizing vehicle
features.
The following are all possible
personalization features. Depending
on the vehicle, some may not be
available.
MENU :Turn to scroll through the
menus or setup items. Press to
enter the menus and select the
menu items.
BACK : Press to exit or return to
the previous screen or menu.
To access a menu:
1. Press MENU.
2. Turn MENU to the desired menu.
3. Press MENU to select.
Menus and functions may vary
depending on vehicle options. Entering the Personalization
Menus
Select Settings from the
Home Page.
The following menus may be
available:

Time and Date
. Tone Settings

Time and Date
Select Time and Date to adjust the
clock. See Clock0107.
Tone Settings
Select to set the radio tone. See
“Tone Settings” under“Radio
Controls without Touchscreen” in
Operation 0157.
Auto Volume Control
This feature automatically adjusts
the radio volume based on the
speed of the vehicle.
Select the desired value.
Maximum Startup Volume
When the vehicle is started and the
radio volume is greater than this set
level, the volume is adjusted to this
level.
Select the desired value.

Select Time and Date to adjust the

Language
Select, then select from the
available language(s).
Valet Mode (If Equipped)
This will lock the infotainment
system and steering wheel controls.
It may also limit access to vehicle
storage locations (if equipped).
To enable valet mode:
1. Enter a four-digit code on the keypad.
2. Touch Enter to go to the confirmation screen.
3. Re-enter the four-digit code.
Touch LOCK or UNLOCK to lock or
unlock the system. Touch Back to
go back to the previous menu.
Radio
Select and the following may

screen.

Auxiliary Devices
Using the Auxiliary Input Jack
Settings menus and functions may
vary depending on vehicle options.
The auxiliary input jack can be used
to connect external audio devices
such as an iPod
®, iPhone®, MP3
player, and other supported devices
for use as another source for audio
listening. This input jack is not an
audio output; do not plug
headphones into the front auxiliary
input jack.
The auxiliary input jack is in the
center stack. The infotainment
system can play music connected
by the auxiliary device. Play will begin when the system has
finished reading the information on
the device.
Playing Music
To play music from the device, if the
device is already connected:
1. Press
{.
2. Touch AUDIO.
3. Touch Source.
4. Touch AUX.
5. Touch

Phone
Bluetooth (Overview)
If equipped with Bluetooth®
capability, the system can interact
with many Bluetooth phones, PDAs,
or other devices to:
.
Place and receive hands-free
calls.
. Transmit hands-free data.
. Play audio streaming files.
. Placing outgoing calls by voice
recognition.
The device must be paired first. See
“Pairing” underBluetooth
(Infotainment Controls Radio with
Touchscreen) 0177 orBluetooth
(Infotainment Controls Radio without
Touchscreen) 0173 orBluetooth
(Overview) 0171.
To minimize driver distraction,
before driving, and with the vehicle
parked:
. Become familiar with the
features of the cell phone.

fan control to 0 turns the fan off. The
fan must be turned on to run the air
conditioning compressor.
Air Delivery Mode Control :Turn
clockwise or counterclockwise to
change the current airflow mode.
Select from the following air delivery
modes:
Y: Air is directed to the instrument
panel outlets.
\: Air is divided between the
instrument panel and floor outlets.
[: Air is directed to the floor
outlets, with some air directed to the
rear outlets.
W: This mode clears the windows
of fog or moisture. Air is directed to
the floor, windshield, and side
window outlets.
1: This mode clears the
windshield of fog or frost more
quickly. Air is directed to the
windshield and side window outlets.
Do not drive the vehicle until all
windows are clear. In defrost or defog mode, excessive
air conditioning use can cause the
windows to fog. If this happens,
change the air delivery mode to
Y
and reduce the fan speed.

If equipped with air
conditioning, follow these steps to
use the system. Turn
Ato the
desired speed. The air conditioning
does not operate when the fan
control knob is in the off position.
Press
#to turn the air conditioning
on and off. When
#is pressed, an
indicator light comes on to show
that the air conditioning is on.
For quick cool down on hot days:
1. Open the windows to let hot air escape.
2. Press
M.
3. Press
#.
4. Select the coolest temperature.
5. Select the highest
Aspeed.
Using these settings together for
long periods of time may cause the
air inside the vehicle to become too dry. To prevent this from happening,
after the air in the vehicle has
cooled, turn the recirculation
mode off.
M:
This mode recirculates and
helps to quickly cool the air inside
the vehicle. It can be used to
prevent outside air and odors from
entering the vehicle.
Press the button to turn the
recirculation mode on. An indicator
light comes on to show that the
recirculation is on. Press the button
again to return to outside air mode.
Using the recirculation mode for
extended periods may cause the
windows to fog. If this happens,
select the defrost mode.
Max
#is available when the air
conditioning is selected and the
temperature is set to the coolest
setting while the outside air
temperature is warm. When Max
#
is activated, the air inside the
vehicle is automatically recirculated,
which helps to quickly cool the
vehicle. The recirculation indicator
will not be lit.
