Air bags
Good practice
Sit in a normal upright position.
Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Do not leave anything between the
occupants and the air bags (a child,
pet, object...). This could hamper the
operation of the air bags or injure the
occupants.
After an accident or if the vehicle has
been stolen or broken into, have the air
bag systems checked.
All work on the air bag system is
strictly forbidden unless it is carried out
b y q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e C I T R O Ë N
network.
Even if all of the precautions
mentioned are observed, a risk of
injury or of minor burns to the head,
chest or arms when an air bag is
triggered cannot be ruled out. In fact,
t h e b a g i n fl a t e s a l m o s t i n s t a n t l y ( w i t h i n
a f e w m i l l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n
the same time discharging the hot gas
via openings provided for this purpose. Side air bags
Only put recommended covers on the
s e a t s . T h e s e w i l l n o t h i n d e r i n fl a t i o n o f
the side air bags. Consult a CITROËN
dealer.
D o n o t fi x o r g l u e a n y t h i n g t o t h e s e a t
backs. This could cause injury to the
chest or arms when the side air bag
i n fl a t e s .
Do not sit with the upper part of the
body any nearer to the door than
necessary.
Front air bags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel
by its spokes or resting your hands on
the centre part of the wheel.
Do not allow passengers to place their
feet on the fascia, they risk serious
injury if the air bag is triggered.
Smoke as little as possible as
deployment of the air bags can cause
burns or the risk of injury from a
cigarette or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering
wheel or hit it violently.
Air bags only operate when the
ignition is switched on.
This equipment only operates once.
If a second impact occurs (during the
same or a subsequent accident), the
air bag will not operate.
The triggering of an air bag or air bags
is accompanied by a slight discharge
of harmless smoke and a noise, due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge incorporated in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but
sensitive individuals may experience
some irritation.
The noise of the detonation may result in
a slight loss of hearing for a short time.
It is imperative that the passenger
air bag is disarmed if a child seat
is installed facing rearwards. Refer
to the "Children on board" section of
chapter 5.

TOWING A TRAILER, CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC.. .
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest objects are as
close as possible to the axle and
the nose weight is close to the
maximum authorised without, however,
exceeding it.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the coolant temperature. As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
On the contrary, use a high gear to
lower the engine speed and reduce
your speed.
In all cases, pay attention to the
coolant temperature.
Driving advice
A towed vehicle must free wheel:
gearbox in neutral.

- O p e n t h e l i d o f t h e s t o r a g e c o m p a r t m e n t l o c a t e d u n d e r t h e
seat on the right-hand side. If
necessary, move the seat forward
t o a c c e s s t h e s t o r a g e c o m p a r t m e n t
from the rear.
- U n s c r e w t h e n u t t h e n t a k e o u t t h e j a c k a n d t h e w h e e l b r a c e .

3. SPARE WHEEL - Unscrew the bolt using the wheelbrace until the carrier is
lowered fully.

t o t h e s p a r e w h e e l . - D e t a c h t h e c a r r i e r f r o m t h e h o o k
a n d p l a c e t h e s p a r e w h e e l n e a r t h e
wheel to be changed.

4. OPERATING PROCEDURE - P l a c e t h e j a c k i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e l o c a t i n g p o i n t p r o v i d e d , t h e o n e
which is closest to the wheel to
b e c h a n g e d . E n s u r e t h a t t h e j a c k
is straight and that the base of
t h e j a c k i s f u l l y i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e
ground.
- E x t e n d t h e j a c k t o l i f t t h e w h e e l clear of the ground.
- R e s u m e a n d c o m p l e t e t h e unscrewing of the wheel bolts.
- R e m o v e t h e b o l t s a n d r e m o v e t h e wheel.
D o n o t e x t e n d t h e j a c k u n t i l y o u h a v e
started unscrewing the bolts on the
w h e e l t o b e c h a n g e d a n d h a v e p l a c e d
t h e c h o c k u n d e r t h e w h e e l d i a g o n a l l y
o p p o s i t e .
- R e m o v e t h e t r i m p u l l i n g i t u s i n g t h e
embellisher remover.
- Loosen the wheel bolts and start unscrewing them. Anti-theft bolts
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h w h e e l s w i t h
alloy rims:
- Each wheel has an anti-theft bolt.
- T h e s e b o l t s c a n b e l o o s e n e d u s i n g
y o u r a n t i - t h e f t s o c k e t ( g i v e n t o y o u
in delivery of your vehicle) and the
wheelbrace.

- L o w e r t h e v e h i c l e c o m p l e t e l y b y f o l d i n g t h e j a c k , t h e n r e m o v e t h e
j a c k .
- T i g h t e n t h e b o l t s a g a i n u s i n g t h e wheelbrace, tighten them fully
without forcing them.
- P l a c e t h e w h e e l t o b e r e p a i r e d i n the carrier. Never go underneath a vehicle
t h a t i s s u p p o r t e d o n l y b y a
j a c k ( u s e a r a m p ) . N e v e r u s e
a s c r e w d r i v e r i n p l a c e o f t h e
wheelbrace
- S e c u r e t h e c a r r i e r o n t h e h o o k t h e n
raise the carrier using the bolt and
the wheelbrace.
5. FITTING THE SPARE WHEEL
- Position the wheel on the hub and
start tightening the bolts by hand.
- C a r r y o u t a n i n i t i a l t i g h t e n i n g o f t h e bolts using the wheelbrace.

REMOVABLE SNOW SCREEN
According to country, the removable
snow screen is installed on the lower
p a r t o f t h e f r o n t b u m p e r t o p r e v e n t t h e
accumulation of snow at the radiator
cooling fan.
