Advice
Sit in  a  normal  upright  position.
Wear
 a  correctly  adjusted  seat  belt.
Do
Â
not
Â
allow
Â
anything
Â
to
Â
come
Â
between
Â
the occupants and the airbags
(a
child,  pet,  object...),  do  not  attach  or Â
fix
anything  near  to  the  airbags  or  their Â
trajectories
when  inflating  as  this  could Â
cause
injuries  when  the  airbags  are Â
deployed.
Never
modify  the  original  definition  of Â
your vehicle, particularly in the area
directly
 around  the  airbags.
a
fter an accident or if the vehicle has
been
stolen  or  broken  into,  have  the Â
airbag
 systems  checked.
All
work  on  the  airbag  system  must  be Â
carried out by a CITR
o Ë n dealer or a
qualified
 workshop.
Even if all of the precautions
mentioned
are  observed,  a  risk  of Â
injury
or  of  minor  burns  to  the  head, Â
chest
or  arms  when  an  airbag  is Â
deployed
 cannot  be  ruled  out. Â
The
 bag Â
inflates
almost  instantly  (within  a  few Â
millis
econds)  then  deflates  within  the Â
same
time  discharging  the  hot  gas  via Â
openings
 provided  for  this  purpose.Front airbags
d
o not drive holding the steering wheel
by
its  spokes  or  resting  your  hands  on Â
the
 centre  part  of  the  wheel.
Passengers
must  not  place  their  feet Â
on
 the  dashboard.
Do
not  smoke  as  deployment  of  the Â
airbags
can  cause  burns  or  the  risk  of Â
injury
 from  a  cigarette  or  pipe.
Never
remove  or  pierce  the  steering Â
wheel
 or  hit  it  violently.
Do
not  fit  or  attach  anything  to  the Â
steering wheel or dashboard, this could
cause
injuries  with  deployment  of  the Â
airbags.
Lateral airbags
Use only approved covers on the
seats,
 compatible  with  the  deployment Â
the
 lateral  airbags.  For  information Â
on the range of seat covers suitable
for your vehicle, you can contact a
CITROËN dealer
.
For
 more  information  on  accessories, Â
refer to "
o ther accessories" in
section 6.
Do
not  fix  or  attach  anything  to  the  seat Â
backs
 (clothing...). Â
This
 could  cause Â
injury
to  the  chest  or  arms  if  the  lateral Â
airbag
 is  deployed.
d
o not sit with the upper part of the
body any nearer to the door than
necessary.
Airbags only operate when the
ignition is switched on.
This
Â
equipment
Â
only
Â
operates
Â
once.
Â
If
Â
a
Â
second
Â
impact
Â
occurs
Â
(during
Â
the
Â
same
Â
or
Â
a
Â
subsequent
Â
accident),
Â
the
Â
airbag
Â
will
Â
not
Â
operate.
The
Â
deployment
Â
of
Â
an
Â
airbag
Â
or
Â
airbags
Â
is
Â
accompanied
Â
by
Â
a
Â
slight
Â
discharge
Â
of
Â
smoke
Â
and
Â
a
Â
noise,
Â
due
Â
to
Â
the
Â
activation of the pyrotechnic cartridge
incorporated
Â
in
Â
the
Â
system.
This
Â
smoke
Â
is
Â
not
Â
harmful,
Â
but
Â
sensitive
Â
individuals
Â
may
Â
experience
Â
some
Â
irritation.
The
Â
noise
Â
of
Â
the
Â
detonation
Â
may
Â
result
Â
in a slight loss of hearing for a short
time. The
Â
passenger's
Â
front
Â
airbag
Â
must
Â
be deactivated if a child seat is
installed
Â
rearward
Â
facing.

-
forward facing
 over  the  age  of  3.
Although
Â
one
Â
of
Â
CITROËN's
Â
main
Â
criteria when designing your vehicle,
the safety of your children also
depends
Â
on
Â
you.
*
The regulations on carrying children
are
Â
specific
Â
to
Â
each
Â
country.
Â
Refer
Â
to

Â
on
Â
seats
Â
fitted
Â
with
Â
a
Â
seat
Â
belt
Â
or
Â

CHILD SEAT AT THE REAR
Rearward facing
When a rearward facing child seat is
installed on a rear passenger seat,
move
the  vehicle's  front  seat  forwards Â
and
straighten  the  backrest  so  that  the Â
rearward facing child seat does not
touch
 the  vehicle's  front  seat.
Forward facing
When a forward facing child seat is
installed on a rear passenger seat,
move the  vehicle's  front  seat  forwards Â
and
straighten  the  backrest  so  that  the Â
legs of the child in the forward facing
child seat do not touch the vehicle's
front
 seat.
Ensure that the seat belt is
correctly
 tensioned.
For child seats with a support leg,
ensure
that  this  is  in  firm  contact  with Â
the
floor. When a child seat is installed on a
passenger seat in row 3, put the
backrests
of  the  outer  and  centre  seats Â
in row 2 forward of the seat occupied
by the child seat, in the table position,
or
if  this  is  not  sufficient,  rermove  the Â
seats in row 2 so that the child seat or
the the legs of the child do not touch
the
 seats  in  row  2.
Seats in row 3

SEATS WITH A SUPPORT LEG
Care must be taken when installing a child seat with a support leg in
the
vehicle.  In  particular  you  should Â
look
for  the  presence  of  a  storage Â
compartment
 below  the  rear  seat Â
footwells.
The centre rear seat does not have
a
 storage  compartment  below  the Â
footwell.
Â
Y
ou  can  therefore  easily  fit  a Â
child seat with a support leg, whether
installed
with  the  ISOFIX  mountings  or Â
using
 the  3  point  seat  belt.
Do not place the support leg on
the storage compartment cover;
it
might  break  in  a  serious  impact. Â
Where
the  adjustments  of  the  support Â
leg allow it, we suggest two other
possibilities
 for  installation.
At the bottom of the storage
compartment
If the support leg is long enough, you
can adjust  it  so  that  it  contact  the Â
bottom
 of  the  storage  compartment. Â
Remove
all  objects  from  the  storage Â
compartment
 before  installing  the Â
support
 leg.
Away from the storage
compartment area
If the support leg is long enough and
can be  inclined  sufficiently  (always Â
by
 following  the  recommendations Â
given in the installation instructions for
the child seat), you can position the
support
leg  so  that  it  contacts  the  floor Â
away
 from  the  storage  compartment. Â
Adjust
 the  longitudinal  position  of Â
the front or rear seat to obtain a
satisfactory position for the support leg
away
 from  the  storage  compartment.
If you cannot position the support
leg in the way described, you
should
not  fit  a  child  seat  with Â
support
 leg  to  the  seat.

must
 be  deactivated.  Otherwise, Â
the child would risk being
seriously injured or killed if the
airbag is deployed
.
When a forward facing child seat
is installed on a front passenger
seat, the passenger's front airbag
must

ISOFIx MOUNTINGS
Your vehicle has been approved in
accordance with the latest ISo FIX
regulation.
The
mountings  comprise  three  rings  for Â
each
 seat.
Two front rings A, located between
the
vehicle  seat  backrest  and  cushion, Â
indicated
by  a  marking.a rear ring B,  located  on  the  back  of
the  vehicle's  seat  backrest,  for Â
securing the upper strap referred to as
the
Â
T
op Â
T
ether.
The Top Tether is used to secure the
upper strap of child seats that have
one.
Â
This
 arrangement  limits  the Â
forward tipping of the child seat in the
event
 of  a  frontal  impact.
This
 ISOFIX  mounting  system Â
guarantees you fast, reliable and safe
fitting
of  the  child  seat  in  your  vehicle.
The
ISOFIX  child  seats  are  fitted  with Â
two latches which are secured on the
two front rings
A.
Some
also  have  an  upper  strap  which Â
is attached to the rear ring
B.Follow strictly the instructions for
fitting
child  seats  contained  in  the Â
manufacturer's
 installation  guide.
To secure the child seat to the
Top Tether:
-
Â
remove
and  stow  the  head  restraint Â
before installin
g the child seat in
this  seating  position  (refit  it  once Â
the
 child  seat  has  been  removed),
-
pass the upper strap of the child
seat over the top of the seat
backrest,
 between  the  apertures  for Â
the head restraint rods,
-
secure  the  hook  on  the  upper  strap  to the rear ring,
-
Â
tighten
 the  upper  strap.
The incorrect installation of a child
seat
in  a  vehicle  compromises  the Â
protection of the child in the event
of
 an  accident.
Refer
to  the  table  for  information  on Â
the installation of IS
