-
Â
On
each  side,  take  hold  of  the Â
uprights of the folded seat, tilting it
forward
slightly,  and  lift  it.Refitting the seat
The label on the seat indicates the
position
in  which  it  must  be  installed.
-
Â
Place
the  hooks  of  the  front  feet Â
between
 the  two  bars.
-
Â
Ensure
that  no  object  or  foot  is Â
obstructing the rear anchorage
points and that the seat belt is
positioned correctly and available
for
 use.
-
Â
Fold
back  the  seat  to  fix  its  rear Â
anchoring
 feet.
-
o perate the control to raise the
seat
 back  to  its  initial  position.
-
Â
Raise
 the  head  restraint.
Good practice
Following the various operations:
- Â
do
not  remove  a  head  restraint Â
without stowing it; secure it inside
the vehicle,
-
ensure that the passengers can
always access the seat belts and
fasten
 them  easily,
-
Â
passengers
 must  never  take Â
their
 seat  without  adjusting  and Â
fastening
 their  seat  belt.
-
Â
a
passenger  seated  in  row  3  must Â
ensure that he does not obstruct
the row 2 seat anchorage points,
-
Â
a
passenger  seated  in  row  3  must Â
not
have  the  seat  in  front  of  them  in Â
row 2 in the folded position; this is
in case the seat could tip towards
the passenger unexpectedly and
injure
 them.
Do
not  place  hard  or  heavy  objects  on Â
the
seat  backs  forming  a  table,  they Â
could
 become  dangerous  projectiles  in Â
the
event  or  sharp  braking  or  impact.

Towing a trailer
Berlingo-2-VP_en_Chap06_accessoire_ed01-2016
For more information about weights and towed loads, refer to
chapter 9,  "Weights"  section.
TOWING A TRAILER , A CARA VAN ...
Distribution of loads
d
istribute the load in the trailer so
that
the  heaviest  objects  are  as Â
close as possible to the axle and
the nose weight is close to the
maximum
 authorised  without,  however, Â
exceeding
 it.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the
coolant  temperature.a s the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the
 engine  speed.
You should therefore use a high gear
to lower the engine speed and reduce
your
 speed.
In all cases, pay attention to the
coolant
 temperature.
Driving advice
A towed  vehicle  must  free  wheel:  gearbox
 in  neutral.

 149
Towing a trailer
Berlingo-2-VP_en_Chap06_accessoire_ed01-2016
Good Practice
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing  the  maximum  load  up  a Â
steep
slope  in  high  temperatures),  the Â
engine
 automatically  limits  its  power. Â
In this case, the air conditioning is
automatically
cut  off  to  save  engine Â
power
.
Tyres
Check
the  tyre  pressures  of  the  towing Â
vehicle and of the trailer
, observing the
recommended
 pressures.
Chapter
 7,  "Levels"  section.
If
 the  coolant  temperature Â
warning
 lamp  comes  on,  stop Â
the vehicle and switch of
f the
engine
 as  soon  as  possible.Brakes
Towing
 increases  the  braking  distance.  Drive
at  a  moderate  speed,  change Â
down
 early  and  brake  gradually.
Towbar
We recommend the use of genuine CITRo Ë n towbars and their wiring
harnesses, which have been tested
and
approved  from  the  design  stage  of Â
your vehicle, and that you entrust the
fitting
of  this  equipment  to  a  CITROËN Â
dealer
.
If
this  equipment  is  not  fitted  by  a Â
CITROËN
dealer,  it  is  imperative  that Â
it
is  fitted  using  the  electrical  pre-
equipment
installed  at  the  rear  of  the Â
vehicle and in accordance with the
manufacturer's
 instructions.
In accordance with the general
instructions
a  reminder  of  which  has Â
been given above, we draw your
attention
to  the  risk  associated  with Â
fitting
a  towbar  or  electrical  accessory Â
not
 recommended  by  CITROËN. Â
Fitting
such  equipment  could  result  in Â
the failure of your vehicle's electronic
system.
 Please  obtain  information  from Â
the
Manufacturer  before  fitting  this  type Â
of
 equipment.
