INTERIOR Automatic air conditioning
This automatic air conditioning sys-
t e m g u a r a n t e e s c o m f o r t a n d a s u f fi -
cient circulation of air in the passenger
compartment.
Cruise control
This system automatically maintains
the vehicle speed at the value pro-
grammed by the driver, without the ac-

Cruise control
This maintains a constant vehicle speed
programmed by the driver.
1. “ON/OFF” button: activation /
deactivation of the cruise control
mode.
2. “COAST SET” button: storing of a
driving speed then decreasing of
the cruising speed.
3. “ACC RES” button: increasing of
the cruising speed and recalling of
the stored speed.
4. “CANCEL” button: switching off of
the cruise control.
In order to be programmed or activated,
the vehicle speed must be higher than
25 mph (40 km/h) with at least second
gear engaged. This detects any obstacle (person, ve-
hicle, tree, gate, etc.) located behind
the vehicle.

Four wheel drive system
Three transmission modes are avail-
able and can be selected manually by
the driver in accordance with his re-

A. Two wheel drive (2WD),
B. Four wheel drive (4WD AUTO),
C. Four wheel drive (4WD LOCK).

of the direction indicators has blown. Change
the bulb or contact a CITROËN dealer.

Main beam
headlamps
F i x e d This comes on when
you pull the lights stalk
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped headlamps.
Side lights
F i x e d This comes on when
the lights stalk is in the
“Side lights” or “Dipped
headlamps” position. Turn the stalk to the position required.
Front fog
lamps
F i x e d This comes on when you
use the front fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Rear fog lamps
F i x e d This comes on when you
use the rear fog lamps. Turn the ring on the stalk forwards to switch on
the fog lamps.
Cruise control
F i x e d This comes on when the
mode is active. Press the “ON/OFF” button to activate/
deactivate the mode.

Programming
Press button 1 .
Set the programmed speed by ac-
celerating to the required speed,
then press button 2 “COAST
SET” .
CRUISE CONTROL
The controls of this system are grouped
together on the steering wheel.
1.
“ON/OFF” button: activation / deac-
tivation of the cruise control mode.
2.
“COAST SET” button: storing of a
driving speed and decreasing of the
cruising speed.
3.
“ACC RES” button: increasing of
the cruising speed and recalling of
the stored speed.
4.
“CANCEL” button: switching off of
the cruise control. When you press button
1 , “CRUISE”
indicator light comes on on the instru-
ment panel.

The cruise control cannot, in any cir-
cumstances, take the place of the
need to comply with speed limits or
of the vigilance and responsibility of
the driver.
System which permits automatic main-
taining of the vehicle speed at the value
programmed by the driver, without any
action on the accelerator pedal.
The
cruise control is switched on
manually: the vehicle speed must be
25 mph (40 km/h) minimum and sec-
ond gear at least must be engaged in
t h e c a s e o f a m a n u a l g e a r b o x .
The cruise control is switched off
manually, by an action on the brake or
clutch pedal or if the ASC system is trig-
gered.
T h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d c a n b e e x -
ceeded temporarily by pressing the ac-
celerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any
programmed speed value.

When the cruise control is
in operation, pay attention if
you press and hold one of
the programmed speed adjustment
buttons: this can result in a very rapid
change in the speed of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
On a steep descent, the cruise control
will not be able to prevent the vehicle
f r o m e x c e e d i n g t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n o t h e r .
Deactivating the function
To deactivate the cruise control:
Press the brake or
clutch pedal, or
Press button 1 “ON OFF” , or
Press button 4 “CANCEL” .
The cruise control may be deactivated
automatically:
When the vehicle reaches a speed
below 20 mph (35 km/h).
When the active stability control
system (ASC) comes into operation. Reactivating the function
When the cruise control has been
deactivated, you can return to the
stored speed by pressing button

“ACC RES” when you reach a mini-
mum speed of 25 mph (40 km/h).
Decreasing the programmed
speed
Using button 2 “COAST SET” :
- successive presses decrease the s p e e d i n s t e p s o f a p p r o x i m a t e l y
1 mph (1.6 km/h).
- a maintained press of this button decreases the speed progressively.
Once the speed required has been
reached, release the button, the new
speed is stored.
Using the brake pedal:
- brake to deactivate the cruise con- trol, then press button 2 “COAST
SET” . Release to store the new
speed. Temporary acceleration/
deceleration
Increasing the programmed
speed
Using button 3 “ACC RES” :
- successive presses increase the s p e e d i n s t e p s o f a p p r o x i m a t e l y
1 mph (1.6 km/h).
- a maintained press of this button increases the programmed speed
progressively.
Once the speed required has been
reached, release the button, the new
speed is stored.
Using the accelerator pedal:
- accelerate to reach the speed re- quired, then press button 2 “COAST
SET” . Release the button to store
the new speed. Temporary acceleration
Press the accelerator pedal as normal.
When the pedal is released, you return
to the stored speed.
Temporary deceleration
Press the brake pedal to reduce the
speed. To return to the stored speed,
press button
3 “ACC RES” .
