FITTINGS
STORAGE DRAWER
The storage drawer is located under the
front passenger's seat.
Opening
Raise the front of the drawer and
pull it.
Removal
Bring the drawer to the end of its
travel.
Press the ends of the slides.
Raise the drawer and pull it fully.
Refitting
Engage the drawer in its slides.
At the end of its travel, press on the
top of the drawer to secure it.
Do not place heavy objects in
the drawer.
MATS
Removable component which protects
the carpet against exterior dirt.
Fitting
W h e n fi t t i n g t h e m a t f o r t h e fi r s t t i m e ,
o n t h e d r i v e r ' s s i d e , u s e o n l y t h e fi x i n g s
provided in the wallet attached.
The other mats are simply placed on
the carpet.
Removal
To remove the mat on the driver's side:
move the seat as far back as pos-
sible,
u n c l i p t h e fi x i n g s ,
remove the mat. Refitting
T o r e fi t t h e m a t o n t h e d r i v e r ' s s i d e :
position the mat correctly,
r e fi t t h e fi x i n g s b y p r e s s i n g ,
check that the mat is secured correctly.
To avoid any risk of jamming of
the pedals:
- only use mats which are s u i t e d t o t h e fi x i n g s a l r e a d y
present in the vehicle; it is
imperative that these are
used,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.

Rear shelf
To remove the shelf:
unhook the two cords,
raise the shelf slightly, then unclip it
on each side. Hooks
The hooks permit the securing of
shopping bags.
Luggage retaining net
Hooked onto the stowing rings, this en-
ables you to secure your luggage to the
bottom of the boot. Storage box
Raise the boot carpet to gain access
to the storage box.
This has areas for storing a temporary
puncture repair kit, a box of spare bulbs,
a fi r s t a i d k i t , t w o w a r n i n g t r i a n g l e s , . . .

SAFETY
T h e d r i v e r m u s t e n s u r e t h a t p a s s e n -
gers use the seat belts correctly and
that they are all restrained securely
before setting off.
Wherever you are seated in the ve-
hicle, always fasten your seat belt,
even for short journeys.
Do not invert the seat belt buckles as
t h e y w i l l n o t f u l fi l t h e i r r o l e f u l l y .
T h e s e a t b e l t s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n i n e r t i a
r e e l p e r m i t t i n g a u t o m a t i c a d j u s t m e n t
o f t h e l e n g t h o f t h e s t r a p t o y o u r s i z e .
The seat belt is stored automatically
when not in use.
Before and after use, ensure that the
seat belt is reeled in correctly.
T h e l o w e r p a r t o f t h e s t r a p m u s t b e
p o s i t i o n e d a s l o w a s p o s s i b l e o n t h e
p e l v i s .
T h e u p p e r p a r t m u s t b e p o s i t i o n e d i n
the hollow of the shoulder.
T h e i n e r t i a r e e l s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a n a u -
tomatic locking device which comes
i n t o o p e r a t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a c o l l i -
sion, emergency braking or if the ve-
hicle rolls over. You can release the
d e v i c e b y p u l l i n g r a p i d l y o n t h e s t r a p
and releasing it. Recommendations for
children
U s e a s u i t a b l e c h i l d s e a t i f t h e p a s -
senger is less than 12 years old or
shorter than one and a half metres.
Never use the same seat belt to secure
m o r e t h a n o n e p e r s o n .
N e v e r a l l o w a c h i l d t o t r a v e l o n y o u r l a p .
In order to be effective, a seat belt:
- must be tightened as close to the
b o d y a s p o s s i b l e ,
- m u s t r e s t r a i n o n e p e r s o n o f a d u l t s i z e o n l y ,
- must not bear any trace of cuts or fraying,
- m u s t b e p u l l e d i n f r o n t o f y o u w i t h a smooth movement, checking
that it does not twist,
- m u s t n o t b e a l t e r e d o r m o d i fi e d t o a v o i d a l t e r i n g i t s p e r f o r m a n c e .

l a t i o n s , a l l r e p a i r s a n d c h e c k s m u s t b e

correctly.

After folding or moving a seat or rear
bench seat, ensure that the seat belt is

Depending on the nature and se-
riousness of the impacts , t h e p r e -
tensioning device may be triggered
b e f o r e a n d i n d e p e n d e n t l y o f t h e a i r -
b a g s . T r i g g e r i n g o f t h e p r e - t e n s i o n e r s
i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a s l i g h t d i s c h a r g e
of harmless smoke and a noise, due
t o t h e a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e p y r o t e c h n i c
c a r t r i d g e i n c o r p o r a t e d i n t h e s y s t e m .
I n a l l c a s e s , t h e a i r b a g w a r n i n g l a m p
comes on.

SAFETY For the airbags to be fully
effective, observe the

After an accident or if the vehicle has

airbag systems checked.
All work on the airbag system is strict-
ly forbidden unless it is carried out by
q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e C I T R O Ë N
network.
E v e n i f a l l o f t h e p r e c a u t i o n s m e n t i o n e d
are observed, a risk of injury or of minor
burns to the head, chest or arms when
an airbag is triggered cannot be ruled

within the same time discharging the

Front airbags

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
Access to the tools
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o t h e m :
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
remove the polystyrene storage box,
unclip and remove the box containing
the tools. Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , fi r s t d e t a c h t h e t r i m u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e t r i m s t a r t i n g b y p l a c i n g i t s c u t - o u t a t t h e
valve and press around its edge with the palm of your hand.
List of tools
A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt pro- t e c t o r s ( c o v e r s ) o n a l l o y w h e e l s .
4. Socket for the security wheel
b o l t s ( l o c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheel- brace to the special "security"
wheel bolts.

Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel or of the "space saver" type.
To gain access to it, refer to the para-
graph "Access to the tools" on the previ-
ous page. Fitting the steel or "space-
saver" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice,
w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t -
ting, that the washers do not
come into contact with the steel
or "space-saver" type spare
wheel. The wheel is secured by
the conical contact of each bolt. Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
Put the box back in place in the centre
of the wheel and clip it.
Put the polystyrene storage box
back in place.

" F i t t i n g s - § S t o r a g e b o x " ) .
On vehicles equipped with a
"space-saver" type spare wheel,
the punctured wheel cannot be
stowed in place of the "space-
saver" wheel.

Removing the wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and not
slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch
o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t
gear * to lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
It is imperative that you ensure
that the occupants get out of the
vehicle and wait where they are
safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
raised using a jack; use an axle
stand. List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the security bolt socket 4 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
bolt.
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
Extend the jack 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.
