MONITORING
Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the vehicle is
being driven, the switching on of one of the fol-
lowing warning lamps indicates a fault which
requires action on the part of the driver.
Any fault resulting in the switching on of a warni ng lamp must be investigated
further by reading the associated message on the mu ltifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a CITROËN dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
STOP
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
with another warning
lamp and
accompanied by
an audible signal.
It is associated with the
braking system or the
engine coolant temperature. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a CITROËN
dealer.
Service temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred
for which there is no
s p e c i fi c w a r n i n g l a m p . Identify the fault by reading the message shown
on the screen, such as, for example:
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the remote control battery,
- s a t u r a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r
(Diesel).
For any other faults, contact a CITROËN dealer.

for which there is no
s p e c i fi c w a r n i n g l a m p . Identify the fault by reading the message shown
on the screen and contact a CITROËN dealer.

The braking system

Anti-lock
Braking System (ABS) fi x e d .
The anti-lock braking
system has a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking.
Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact a
CITROËN dealer without delay.
Dynamic
stability control
(ESP/ASR) fl a s h i n g .
The ESP/ASR regulation is
active. The system optimises traction and improves the
directional stability of the vehicle.
fi x e d . Unless it has been
deactivated with the indicator
lamp on the button on, the
ESP/ASR system is faulty. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Engine
autodiagnosis system fi x e d .
The emission control
system has a fault.
This lamp should switch off when the engine is star
ted.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer urgently.
fl a s h i n g . The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic convertor.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Low fuel
level fi x e d . W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains
approximately
5 litres of
fuel in the tank. You must refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
This warning lamp will come on every time the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , u n t i l a s u f fi c i e n t a d d i t i o n
of fuel is made.
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres
(petrol) or 48 litres (Diesel).
Never continue to drive until you run out of fuel
as this could damage the emission control and
injection systems.

TRIP COMPUTER
System which provides current infor-
mation concerning the route travelled
(range, consumption…).
Monochrome screen C Data displays Trip zero reset
Press the button, located at the end
of the wiper stalk , to display the
various trip computer tabs in suc-
cession:
When the trip required is displayed,
press the control for more than
two seconds.
Trips "1" and "2" are independent but
their use is identical.
Trip "1" permits, for example, daily cal-
culations, and trip "2" monthly calcula-
tions.

Locking the vehicle with exterior
perimeter protection only
Deactivation of the interior
volumetric protection
Switch off the ignition.
Within ten seconds, press button A
until the indicator lamp is lit continu-
ously.
Get out of the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle without
delay using the locking button on
the remote control.
T h e e x t e r i o r p e r i m e t e r p r o t e c t i o n a l o n e
remains activated; the indicator lamp on
button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .
To be effective, this deactivation
must be carried out each time
the ignition is switched off.
Reactivation of the interior
volumetric protection
Unlock the vehicle using the unlock-
ing button on the remote control.
Relock the vehicle using the remote
control.
The alarm is activated again with both
types of protection; the indicator lamp
on button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d . Triggering of the alarm
This is indicated by sounding of the si-
r e n a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -
t o r s f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y s e c o n d s .
After it has been triggered, both types of
protection are again operational.
If the alarm is triggered ten times
in succession, the eleventh time
will result in it becoming inac-
tive.
If the indicator lamp on button A
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s t h a t
the alarm was triggered during
your absence. When the ignition
i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h i s fl a s h i n g s t o p s
immediately.
To avoid triggering the alarm
when washing your vehicle, lock
it using the key in the driver’s
door lock. Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver’s door lock.
Open the door; the alarm is trig-
gered.
Switch on the ignition; the alarm
stops.
Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver’s door lock.
Malfunction
When the ignition is switched on, light-
ing of the indicator lamp on button A for
ten seconds indicates a siren fault.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.

Automatic activation *
2 minutes after the last door or the boot
is closed, the alarm is activated auto-
matically.
To avoid triggering the alarm on en-
t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , fi r s t p r e s s t h e u n -
locking button on the remote control.

Activation
T h e a n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g s y s t e m c o m e s
i n t o o p e r a t i o n a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e r e
is a risk of wheel lock.
N o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e A B S m a y m a k e
itself felt by slight vibration of the brake
pedal.
W h e n b r a k i n g i n a n e m e r g e n c y ,
p r e s s v e r y fi r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s i n g
t h e p r e s s u r e . Operating fault
I n e i t h e r c a s e , c o n t a c t a C I T R O Ë N
dealer.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e o n t h e
m u l t i f u n c t i o n s c r e e n , i t i n d i c a t e s
a m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e a n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g
s y s t e m w h i c h c o u l d r e s u l t i n l o s s o f
control of the vehicle when braking.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n ,
together with the STOP and
ABS w a r n i n g l a m p s , a c c o m p a -
n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a
m e s s a g e o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n s c r e e n , i t
i n d i c a t e s a m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e e l e c t r o n -
i c b r a k e f o r c e d i s t r i b u t i o n w h i c h c o u l d
r e s u l t i n l o s s o f c o n t r o l o f t h e v e h i c l e
when braking.
You
must

a n d r i m s ) , e n s u r e t h a t t h e y
c o n f o r m t o t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r ' s
r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s . Emergency braking assistance
S y s t e m w h i c h , i n a n e m e r g e n c y , e n -
a b l e s y o u t o o b t a i n t h e o p t i m u m b r a k i n g
p r e s s u r e m o r e q u i c k l y , t h u s r e d u c i n g t h e
stopping distance.
Activation
It is triggered by the speed at which the
brake pedal is pressed.
T h e e f f e c t o f t h i s i s a r e d u c t i o n i n t h e
resistance of the pedal and an increase
i n b r a k i n g e f fi c i e n c y .
