MONITORING
Stop & Start fi x e d .
The Stop & Start system
has put the engine in STOP
mode at a vehicle stop
( t r a f fi c l i g h t s , t r a f fi c j a m ,
or other...). The warning lamp goes off and the engine
restarts automatically in START mode, as soon
as you want to move off.
fl a s h e s f o r a
few seconds,
then goes off. STOP mode is temporarily
unavailable.
or
START mode is invoked
automatically.
Refer to "Driving - § Stop & Start" for special
cases with STOP mode and START mode.
Passenger's
airbag
system fi x e d . The control switch, located
in the glove box, is in
the "
ON " position.
The passenger's front
airbag is activated.
In this case, do not install a
rear-facing child seat. Turn the control switch to the "
OFF " position
to deactivate the front passenger's airbag.
In this case you can install a rear-facing child
seat.
Engine
coolant
temperature fi x e d b l u e . On starting the engine, it
indicates that the engine
is cold. After a few minutes driving, it swiches off to
indicate that the engine temperature is normal.
In order to protect your engine, avoid driving too
hard until the warning lamp has switched off.

Deactivation indicator lamps
I f o n e o f t h e f o l l o w i n g i n d i c a t o r l a m p s c o m e s o n , t h i s c o n fi r m s t h a t t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g s y s t e m h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f i n t e n t i o n a l l y .
This is may be accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction screen.
Passenger's
airbag
system fi x e d . The control, located in the
glove box, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front
airbag is deactivated.
In this case you can install
a "rear facing" child seat. Set the control to the
ON position to activate
the passenger's front airbag.
I n t h i s c a s e , d o n o t fi t a c h i l d s e a t i n t h e
rear-facing position.
ESP/ASR fi x e d . The button, located at
the bottom left of the
dashboard, is pressed. Its
indicator lamp is on.
The ESP/ASR is
deactivated.
ESP: electronic stability
programme.
ASR: anti-skid regulation. Press the button to activate the ESP/ASR. Its
indicator lamp goes off.
The ESP/ASR system is activated automatically
when the vehicle is started.
If deactivated, the system is reactivated
automatically from around 30 mph (50 km/h).

Deactivation
O n l y t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g c a n
be deactivated:
with the ignition off , i n s e r t t h e k e y
in the passenger airbag deactivation
switch 1 ,
t u r n i t t o t h e "OFF" p o s i t i o n ,
t h e n , r e m o v e t h e k e y k e e p i n g t h e
switch in the new position.
T h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n
i n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l w h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s o n a n d u n t i l t h e
airbag is re-activated. T o a s s u r e t h e s a f e t y o f y o u r c h i l d ,
t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g
m u s t b e d e a c t i v a t e d w h e n y o u
i n s t a l l a " r e a r f a c i n g " c h i l d s e a t
on the front passenger seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k
b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r k i l l e d i f
the airbag were deployed.
Reactivation
W h e n y o u r e m o v e t h e c h i l d s e a t , t u r n
switch 1 to the "ON" position to re-acti-
v a t e t h e a i r b a g a n d s o a s s u r e t h e s a f e t y
o f y o u r f r o n t p a s s e n g e r i n t h e e v e n t o f
a n i m p a c t .
W i t h t h e i g n i t i o n o n , t h i s w a r n -
i n g l a m p c o m e s o n i n t h e i n s t r u -
m e n t p a n e l f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y
o n e m i n u t e , i f t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s
front airbag is activated. Operating fault
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n
i n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l , a c c o m -
p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e w a r n i n g
a n d a m e s s a g e i n t h e m u l t i f u n c -
t i o n s c r e e n , c o n t a c t a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r
o r q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p t o h a v e t h e s y s t e m
c h e c k e d . T h e a i r b a g s m a y n o l o n g e r b e
d e p l o y e d i n t h e e v e n t o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t .
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p fl a s h e s ,
c o n t a c t a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r
a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p . T h e p a s -
s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g m a y n o
longer be deployed in the event
o f a s e r i o u s i m p a c t .
If at least one of the two airbag
w a r n i n g l a m p s c o m e o n c o n t i n u -
o u s l y , d o n o t i n s t a l l a c h i l d s e a t
on the front passenger seat.
