GEARBOX INSTRUMENT PANELS
Panel grouping together the vehicle operation indication dials and warning lamps.
Depending on the version, the instrument panel may have permanent back-lighting.
Dials
1. Rev counter.
Indicates the speed of rotation of the engine (x 1 000 rpm).
2. Vehicle speed.
Indicates the current speed of the moving vehicle (mph or km/h).
3. Fuel level.
Indicates the quantity of fuel remain- ing in the tank.
4. Screen.
5. Display management button
Alternates display between range and trip mileage recorder.
Servicing information.
Resets the selected function to zero (trip distance recorder or service in-
dicator).
6. Instrument panel lighting button.
Adjusts the brightness of the lighting of the instruments and controls.

Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the ve-
hicle is being driven, the switching on
of one of the following warning lamps
indicates a fault which requires action
on the part of the driver. Any fault resulting in the illumination of a warni
ng lamp must be investigated
further by reading the associated message in the mu ltifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a CITROËN
d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
STOP fi x e d , a l o n e
or associated with another
warning lamp, accompanied
by an audible signal and a
message on the screen. Illumination of the warning
lamp is associated with a
serious braking system or
engine coolant temperature
problem.
Stop as soon as it is safe to do so as the engine
may cut out when driving.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a CITROËN
d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
Service temporarily.
Minor problems have
occurred for which there is
n o s p e c i fi c w a r n i n g l a m p . Identify the problem by reading the message
shown in the screen, such as, for example:
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the remote control battery,
- s a t u r a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r o n
Diesel vehicles (see "Checks - § particle
e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r " ) .
For any other faults, contact a CITROËN dealer or
a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .

Service indicator
System which informs the driver when
the next service is due, in accordance
with the manufacturer's servicing
schedule.
The point at which the service is due is
calculated from the last indicator zero re-
set. It is determined by two parameters:
- the distance travelled,
- the time elapsed since the last service. Between 600 miles (1 000 km) and
1 800 miles (3 000 km) remain before
the next service is due
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the spanner symbolising
the service operations comes on. The
distance recorder display line indicates
the distance remaining before the next
service is due.
Example: 1 700 miles (2 800 km) re-
main before the next service is due.
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the screen indicates:
Less than 600 miles (1 000 km)
remain before the next service is due
Example: 560 miles (900 km) remain
before the next service is due.
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the display indicates:
A few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the spanner goes off ; the
distance recorder resumes its normal
operation. The screen then indicates
the total and trip distances.
A few seconds after the ignition is switched on, the distance recorder resumes its nor-
mal operation. The spanner remains on
to indicate that a service must be carried
out soon.
More than 1 800 miles (3 000 km)
remain before the next service is due
When the ignition is switched on, no ser-
vice information appears in the screen.

Service overdue
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, t h e s p a n n e r fl a s h e s to
indicate that the service must be carried
out as soon as possible.
Example: the service is overdue by
180 miles (300 km).
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the display indicates:
A few seconds after the ignition is switched
on, the distance recorder resumes its nor-
mal operation. The spanner remains on .
The distance remaining may be
weighted by the time factor, de-
pending on the driver's driving
habits.
Therefore, the spanner may also
come on if you have exceeded
the two year service interval. Service indicator zero reset
After each service, the service indicator
must be reset to zero.
The procedure for resetting to zero is as
follows:
switch off the ignition,
press and hold the trip distance re-
corder zero reset button,
switch on the ignition; the distance re-
corder display begins a countdown,
when the display indicates "=0" ,
release the button; the spanner dis-
appears. Retrieving the service information
You can access the service information
at any time.
Press the trip distance recorder zero
reset button.
The service information is displayed for a few seconds, then disappears. Following this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery,
lock the vehicle and wait at least
fi v e m i n u t e s f o r t h e z e r o r e s e t t o
be taken into account.

Service overdue
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, t h e s p a n n e r fl a s h e s to
indicate that the service must be carried
out as soon as possible.
Example: the service is overdue by
180 miles (300 km).
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the display indicates:
A few seconds after the ignition is switched
on, the distance recorder resumes its nor-
mal operation. The spanner remains on .
The distance remaining may be
weighted by the time factor, de-
pending on the driver's driving
habits.
Therefore, the spanner may also
come on if you have exceeded
the two year service interval. Service indicator zero reset
After each service, the service indicator
must be reset to zero.

switch off the ignition,

reset button.
The service information is displayed for a few seconds, then disappears. Following this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery,
lock the vehicle and wait at least
fi v e m i n u t e s f o r t h e z e r o r e s e t t o
be taken into account.

The level shown will only be
correct if the vehicle is on level
ground and the engine has been
off for more than 30 minutes.
Engine oil level indicator
System which informs the driver whether
the engine oil level is correct or not.
This information is indicated for a few
seconds when the ignition is switched
on, after the service information.
Oil level correct
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y t h e fl a s h i n g o f
"OIL" ,
linked with the service warning lamp, ac-
companied by an audible signal and a
message in the multifunction screen.
I f t h e l o w o i l l e v e l i s c o n fi r m e d b y a
check using the dipstick, the level must
be topped up to prevent damage to the
engine.
Oil level low
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y t h e fl a s h i n g o f
"OIL--" .

Oil level indicator fault
Dipstick
There are 2 marks on the
dipstick:
- A = max; never exceed
this level (risk of dam-
age to the engine),
- B = min; top up the level
v i a t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p , u s i n g
the grade of oil suited to
your engine.
Refer to the "Checks" section to locate
t h e d i p s t i c k a n d t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p o n y o u r
engine.

Example: setting of the duration of the
guide-me-home lighting
Press the " " or " " buttons, then
the "OK" button to select the menu
required.
Press the " " or " " buttons,
then the "OK" button to select the
"Guide-me-home headlamps" line.
Press the " " or " " buttons to set
the value required (15, 30 or 60 sec-
onds), then press the "OK" button

Once this menu has been selected,
you can change the language used
by the display (Deutsch, English,
Espanol, Français, Italiano, Nederlands,
Portugues, Portugues-Brasil, Türkçe * ). "Telephone" Menu

by the driver of the multifunction
screen must only be done when
stationary.
D i s p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n
Once this menu has been selected, you
can gain access to the following settings:
- brightness-video setting,
- date and time setting,
- selection of units.
Once the fuel consumption units
have been changed to mpg, the
information in the screen rela-
ting to speed and distance also
changes to mph and miles re-
spectively. With Audio system on, once this menu
i s s e l e c t e d y o u c a n c o n fi g u r e y o u r
Bluetooth hands-free system (pairing),
view the various telephone directories
(list of calls, services...) and manage
your calls (call, hang up, second call,
secret mode...).

ACCESS
ALARM
System which protects and provides a
deterrent against the theft of your vehi-
cle. It provides two types of protection,
e x t e r i o r a n d i n t e r i o r , a s w e l l a s a s e l f -
protection function.
Exterior perimeter protection
The system detects opening of the ve-
hicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to
enter the vehicle by forcing a door, the
boot or the bonnet.
Interior volumetric protection
The system detects any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks
a window or moves inside the vehicle.
If you wish to leave a pet in the vehicle
or a window partially open, deactivate
the interior volumetric protection.
Self-protection function
The system detects the putting out of
service of its components.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries
to put the wires of the siren, the central
control or the battery out of service. D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s
to the alarm system, this could
cause malfunctions. Locking the vehicle with full
alarm
Activation
Switch off the ignition and get out of
the vehicle.
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the locking button on the remote
control.
The alarm is activated; the indicator lamp
in button A fl a s h e s o n c e p e r s e c o n d .
T h e e x t e r i o r p e r i m e t e r p r o t e c t i o n i s a c t i -
vated, 5 seconds after the locking button
on the remote control is pressed.
The interior volumetric protection is acti-
vated, 45 seconds after the locking button
on the remote control is pressed.
Deactivation
Unlock the vehicle using the unlock-
ing button on the remote control.
The alarm is deactivated; the indicator
lamp in button A goes off.
If an opening - door or boot -
is not closed fully, the vehicle
i s n o t l o c k e d , b u t t h e e x t e r i o r
perimeter protection will be ac-
tivated after 45 seconds at the
same time as the interior volu-
metric protection.

CHECKS
Manual gearbox The gearbox does not re-
quire any maintenance (no oil
c h a n g e ) .

Automatic gearbox
The gearbox does not require any m a i n t e n a n c e ( n o o i l c h a n g e ) .

Brake pads Brake wear depends on the
style of driving, particularly in
the case of vehicles used in
town, over short distances. It
may be necessary to have the
condition of the brakes checked, even
between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the system, a
d r o p i n t h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l i n d i c a t e s
that the brake pads are worn. Brake disc wear

Manual parking brake
If a loss of effectiveness of this system is noticed, the parking
brake must be checked, even
between two services.
Checking this system must be done by
a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k -
shop.
Only use products recommende d
by CITROËN or products of equiv-
a l e n t q u a l i t y a n d s p e c i fi c a t i o n .
In order to optimise the opera-
tion of units as important as the
braking system, CITROËN se-
l e c t s a n d o f f e r s v e r y s p e c i fi c
products.
To avoid damaging the electrical
units, the use of a high pressure
washer in the engine compart-
ment is strictly prohibited .
Particle emission filter (Diesel)
According to your version of instrument
panel, the start of saturation of the par-
t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s i n d i c a t e d b y :
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or
at idle, you may, in exceptional
circumstances, notice the emis-
sion of water vapour at the ex-
haust on acceleration. This does
not affect the behaviour of the
vehicle or the environment.
-
fi x e d i l l u m i n a t i o n o f t h e p a r -

lamp, accompanied by an

that there is a risk of blockage

m i t , r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
s p e e d o f a t l e a s t 4 0 m p h ( 6 0 k m / h ) u n t i l
the warning lamp goes off.
If the warning lamp stays on, refer to the
"Additive level" section. SensoDrive gearbox The gearbox does not require any m a i n t e n a n c e ( n o o i l c h a n g e ) .
