Service overdue
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, t h e s p a n n e r fl a s h e s to
indicate that the service must be carried
out as soon as possible.
Example: the service is overdue by
180 miles (300 km).
For a few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the display indicates:
A few seconds after the ignition is switched
on, the distance recorder resumes its nor-
mal operation. The spanner remains on .
The distance remaining may be
weighted by the time factor, de-
pending on the driver's driving
habits.
Therefore, the spanner may also
come on if you have exceeded
the two year service interval. Service indicator zero reset
After each service, the service indicator
must be reset to zero.
The procedure for resetting to zero is as
follows:
switch off the ignition,
press and hold the trip distance re-
corder zero reset button,
switch on the ignition; the distance re-
corder display begins a countdown,
when the display indicates "=0" ,
release the button; the spanner dis-
appears. Retrieving the service information
You can access the service information
at any time.
Press the trip distance recorder zero
reset button.
The service information is displayed for a few seconds, then disappears. Following this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery,
lock the vehicle and wait at least
fi v e m i n u t e s f o r t h e z e r o r e s e t t o
be taken into account.

Brake pads Brake wear depends on the
style of driving, particularly in
the case of vehicles used in
town, over short distances. It
may be necessary to have the
condition of the brakes checked, even
between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the system, a
d r o p i n t h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l i n d i c a t e s
that the brake pads are worn. Brake disc wear

Manual parking brake
If a loss of effectiveness of this system is noticed, the parking
brake must be checked, even
between two services.
Checking this system must be done by
a C I T R O Ë N d e a l e r o r a q u a l i fi e d w o r k -
shop.

a l e n t q u a l i t y a n d s p e c i fi c a t i o n .
In order to optimise the opera-
tion of units as important as the
braking system, CITROËN se-
l e c t s a n d o f f e r s v e r y s p e c i fi c
products.
To avoid damaging the electrical
units, the use of a high pressure
washer in the engine compart-
ment is strictly prohibited .
Particle emission filter (Diesel)
According to your version of instrument
panel, the start of saturation of the par-
t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s i n d i c a t e d b y :
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or
at idle, you may, in exceptional
circumstances, notice the emis-
sion of water vapour at the ex-
haust on acceleration. This does
not affect the behaviour of the
vehicle or the environment.

lamp, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
that there is a risk of blockage

m i t , r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
s p e e d o f a t l e a s t 4 0 m p h ( 6 0 k m / h ) u n t i l
the warning lamp goes off.
