CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed under the boot
fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e m o v a b l e b o o t fl o o r ,
lift up the boot carpet,
remove the box containing the
tools,
remove the polystyrene storage
b o x . A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
v e h i c l e . D o n o t u s e t h e m f o r o t h e r
p u r p o s e s .

Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
b o l t s .
2. J a c k w i t h i n t e g r a l h a n d l e .

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , de-
t a c h t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e w h e e l -
brace 1 pulling at the valve pas-
s a g e h o l e .
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
e d g e w i t h t h e p a l m o f y o u r h a n d .
4. C e n t r i n g g u i d e .
P e r m i t s t h e r e fi t t i n g o f a n a l l o y w h e e l o n t h e h u b .
5. Socket for the anti-theft bolts (lo-
c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheel- brace to the special "anti-theft"
b o l t s .
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-
s l i p p e r y .
Apply the handbrake, switch off the
i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
l o c k t h e w h e e l s .
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
w h e e l t o b e c h a n g e d .
It is imperative that you ensure that
the occupants get out of the vehicle
a n d w a i t w h e r e t h e y a r e s a f e .
Never go underneath a vehicle
raised using a jack; use an axle
s t a n d .
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the anti-theft socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft
b o l t .
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 o n l y .
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underframe, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
c h a n g e d .
Extend the jack 2 until its base plate
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d . E n s u r e
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B u s e d .
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a c l e a n p l a c e .
R e m o v e t h e w h e e l .

After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in the
b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e c e n -
t r a l c o v e r .
When using the "space-saving"
type spare wheel, do not exceed
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts and
the pressure of the spare wheel
checked by a CITROËN dealer
w i t h o u t d e l a y .
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
Fitting the wheel
List of operations
Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand as far as
p o s s i b l e .
Pre-tighten the anti-theft bolt using
the wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 o n l y .
L o w e r t h e v e h i c l e f u l l y .
Fold the jack 2 a n d d e t a c h i t .
Lock the anti-theft bolt using the
wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e a n t i -
theft socket 5 .
Lock the other bolts using the wheel-
brace 1 o n l y .
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
e a c h o f t h e b o l t s .
