The driver must ensure that passengers use the  seat  belts  correctly  and  that  they  are  all Â
f
astened  before  setting  off.
Wherever
you  are  seated  in  the  vehicle, Â
a
lways fasten your seat belt, even for short
journeys.
Do
not  interchange  the  seat  belt  buckles  as Â
t
hey  will  not  fulfil  their  role  fully.
The
seat  belts  are  fitted  with  an  inertia  reel Â
p
ermitting  automatic  adjustment  of  the Â
l
ength  of  the  strap  to  your  size.  The  seat  belt Â
i
s  stowed  automatically  when  not  in  use.
Before
and  after  use,  ensure  that  the  seat Â
b
elt  is  reeled  in  correctly.
The
lower  part  of  the  strap  must  be Â
p
ositioned  as  low  as  possible  on  the  pelvis.
The
upper  part  must  be  positioned  in  the Â
h
ollow  of  the  shoulder.
The
inertia  reels  are  fitted  with  an  automatic Â
l
ocking  device  which  comes  into  operation  in Â
t
he  event  of  a  collision,  emergency  braking Â
o

t
he  device  by  pulling  the  strap  firmly  and Â
t
hen  releasing  it  so  that  it  reels  in  slightly.Recommendations for
children
Use a suitable child seat if the passenger is less  than  12  years  old  or  shorter  than  one Â
a
nd  a  half  metres.
Never
use  the  same  seat  belt  to  secure  more Â
t

Never
allow  a  child  to  travel  on  your  lap.
For

General information
System designed to contribute towards improving  the  safety  of  the  occupants  (with Â
t
he  exception  of  the  rear  centre  passenger) Â
i
n  the  event  of  violent  collisions.  The  airbags Â
s
upplement  the  action  of  the  seat  belts  fitted Â
w
ith  force  limiters  (all  except  the  centre  rear Â
p
assenger
 b
elt).
If
a  collision  occurs,  the  electronic  detectors Â
r
ecord  and  analyse  the  front  and  side  impacts Â
s
ustained  in  the  impact  detection  zones:
-
Â
i
n  the  case  of  a  serious  impact,  the  airbags Â
a
re  deployed  instantly  and  contribute Â
t
owards  better  protection  of  the  occupants Â
o
f  the  vehicle  (with  the  exception  of  the Â
r
ear  centre  passenger);  immediately  after Â
t
he  impact,  the  airbags  deflate  rapidly  so Â
t
hat  they  do  not  hinder  visibility  or  the  exit Â
o
f the occupants,
-
Â
i
n  the  case  of  a  minor  or  rear  impact  or  in Â
c
ertain  roll-over  conditions,  the  airbags Â
m
ay  not  be  deployed;  the  seat  belt Â
a
lone  contributes  towards  ensuring  your Â
p
rotection  in  these  situations. The airbags do not operate when
the
ignition is switched off.
This
equipment  will  only  deploy  once. Â
I
f  a  second  impact  occurs  (during  the Â
s
ame  or  a  subsequent  accident),  the Â
a
irbag  will  not  be  deployed  again.Deployment
of  one  or  more  of  the Â
a
irbags  is  accompanied  by  a  slight Â
e
mission  of  smoke  and  a  noise,  due Â
t
o the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge
 incorporated  in  the  system.
This
smoke  is  not  harmful,  but  sensitive Â
i
ndividuals  may  experience  slight Â
ir
ritation.
The
noise  of  detonation  related  to  the Â
d
eployment  of  one  or  more  airbags  may Â
r
esult  in  a  slight  loss  of  hearing  for  a Â
