Deactivating the passenger's
front airbag
Only the passenger's front airbag can be deactivated.

 insert  the  key  in  the Â

assenger  airbag  deactivation  switch.

urn it to the "OFF"

osition.

emove  the  key  keeping  the  switch  in  the Â
n
ew  position.When
 the  ignition  is  on,  this  warning Â
l
amp  comes  in  the  seat  belt  warning Â
l
amps  display  screen.  It  stays  on Â
w
hile  the  airbag  is  deactivated. To
 assure  the  safety  of  your  child, Â
t
he  passenger's  front  airbag  must  be Â
d
eactivated  when  you  install  a  rear ward Â
f
acing  child  seat  on  the  front  passenger Â
sea
t.
Other wise,  the  child  would  risk  being Â
s
eriously  injured  or  killed  if  the  airbag Â
w
ere  deployed.
Reactivating the passenger's
front airbag
When you remove a rearward facingÂ
child  sea
t, with the ignition off , turn the switch to
the "ON"
Â
position  to  reactivate  the  airbag  and Â
s
o  assure  the  safety  of  your  front  passenger  in Â
t
he  event  of  an  impact.

Deployment
The airbags are deployed, except the passenger's front  airbag  if  it  is  deactivated,  in  the  event  of  a s
erious  front  impact  to  all  or  part  of  the  front  impact
 z
one A,
 in  the  longitudinal  centreline  of  the  vehicle
 o
n  a  horizontal  plane  and  directed  from  the  front  to
 t
he  rear  of  the  vehicle.
The
 front  airbag  inflates  between  the  thorax Â
a
nd  head  of  the  front  occupant  of  the  vehicle Â
a
nd  the  steering  wheel,  driver's  side,  and  the Â
d
ashboard,  passenger's  side  to  cushion  their Â
f
or ward  movement.
System
 which  protects  the  driver  and  front Â
p
assenger  in  the  event  of  a  serious  front  impact Â
i
n  order  to  limit  the  risk  of  injury  to  the  head  and Â
t
horax.
The  driver's  airbag  is  fitted  in  the  centre  of  the Â
s
teering  wheel;  the  front  passenger's  airbag Â
i
s  fitted  in  the  roof  to  allow  more  space  in  the Â
g
love  box.
When  the  ignition  is  switched  on,  this Â
w
arning  lamp  comes  on  in  the  seat Â
b
elt  warning  lamps  display  screen  for Â
a
pproximately  one  minute  to  signal Â
t
hat  the  front  airbag  is  activated.

Recommendations
Installing a booster
cushion
The chest part of the seat belt must be positioned  on  the  child's  shoulder  without Â
t
ouching  the  neck.
Ensure
 that  the  lap  part  of  the  seat  belt Â
p
asses  correctly  over  the  child's  thighs.
CITROËN
 recommends  the  use  of  a  booster Â
s
eat  which  has  a  back,  fitted  with  a  seat  belt Â
g
uide  at  shoulder  level.
As
 a  safety  precaution,  do  not  leave:

ne  or  more  children  alone  and Â
u
nsupervised  in  a  vehicle,
-
Â
a
 child  or  an  animal  in  a  vehicle  which Â
i
s  exposed  to  the  sun,  with  the  windows Â
c
losed,

t
he  keys  within  reach  of  children  inside Â
t
he  vehicle.
To
 prevent  accidental  opening  of  the  doors, Â
u
se  the  child  lock.
Take
 care  not  to  open  the  rear  windows  by Â
m
ore  than  one  third.
To
 protect  young  children  from  the  rays  of Â
t
he  sun,  fit  side  blinds  on  the  rear  windows.
Children at the front
For optimum installation o f t he fo rward f acing c
hild  seat,  ensure  that  the  back  of  the  child Â
s
eat  is  as  close  as  possible  to  the  backrest Â
o
f  the  vehicle's  seat,  or  in  contact  if  possible.
The
 head  restraint  must  be  removed  before Â
i
nstalling  a  child  seat  with  a  backrest  on  the Â
p
assenger
 sea
t.
Ensure
 that  the  head  restraint  is  stowed  or Â
a
ttached  securely  so  that  it  is  not  thrown Â
a
round  the  vehicle  in  the  event  of  sharp Â
b
raking.
Refit
 the  head  restraint  as  soon  as  the  child Â
s
eat  is  removed.
The
 legislation  on  carrying  a  child  on  the Â
f
ront  passenger  seat  is  specific  to  each Â
c
ountry.  Refer  to  the  legislation  in  force  in Â
t
he  country  in  which  you  are  driving.
