This position of the gear le-

gear lever back to the highest

lever to the right and then to the
position you want.

Only engage this position when
the vehicle is completely sta-
tionary. In this position, the front
wheels are locked. Make sure
that the gear lever is correctly
positioned.
Reverse gear

ary. To prevent snatching,
do not accelerate too soon
after selection.
Neutral
Never select position N
if
the vehicle is moving.

LANE DEPARTURE
WARNING SYSTEM
System which detects the involun-
tary crossing of longitudinal traffi c
lane markings on the ground (solid
or broken line).
Sensors, fi tted below the front
bumper, trigger a warning if the vehi-
cle drifts over a lane marking (speed
higher than 50 mph (80 km/h)).
This system is particularly useful on
motorways and main roads.
Activation
)
Press this button, the indicator
lamp comes on.
Deactivation
)
Press this button again, the indi-
cator lamp goes off.
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of
the driver's seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the
marking on the ground has been
crossed on the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the mark-
ing on the ground has been
crossed on the left.
No warning is transmitted while the
direction indicator is active and for
approximately 20 seconds after the
direction indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a direc-
tion marking (e.g. arrow) or non-stand-
ard marking (e.g. graffi ti) is crossed.
Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction, the
service warning lamp comes on, ac-
companied by an audible signal and
a message in the screen.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop. The lane departure warning sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The detection may be impeded:
- if the sensors are dirty (mud,
snow...),
- if the markings on the ground
are worn,
- if there is little contrast between
the markings on the ground and
the road surface.

Operation
You have identifi ed a parking space:
)
Press button A
to select the func-
tion.
)
Activate the direction indicator
on the side where the space is to
be measured.
)
During measurement, go for-
ward the length of the space, at
a speed less than 12 mph (ap-
prox. 20 km/h), to prepare for
your manoeuvre.
The system then measures the size
of the space.
)
The system informs you of the
level of diffi culty of the manoeu-
vre via a message in the instru-
ment panel screen accompanied
by an audible signal.
)
Depending on the message is-
sued by the system, you may or
may not be able to perform the
manoeuvre. The function displays the following
types of message:
Parking YES
Parking
DIFFICULT
Parking NO
The function deselects itself auto-
matically:
- when you engage reverse gear,
- when you switch off the ignition,
- if measurement is not requested,
- within fi ve minutes of selection of
the function,
- if the vehicle speed exceeds the
threshold of 45 mph (approx.
70 km/h) for one minute.
If the lateral distance between your
vehicle and the parking space is too
large, the system may not be able to
measure the space.
The function remains available after
each measurement and thus can
measure more than one space dur-
ing your search.
In bad weather conditions or in
winter, make sure that the sensors
are not covered by dirt, or by ice or
snow.
The parking space sensor function
deactivates the front parking sen-
sors during space measurement
when you are in forward gear.
If there is a fault, have the system
checked by a CITROËN dealer or
a qualifi ed workshop.

Request not granted
The instrument panel screen tempo-
rarily displays a message indicating
that this position is not authorised.
The vehicle remains in the authorised
position and the instrument panel
screen indicates this position to you.
Automatic variation of ground clear-
ance
-
If your speed exceeds 70 mph (ap-
prox. 110 km/h), on a good road sur-
face, ground clearance is lowered.
The vehicle returns to its normal
position if the road surface deterio-
rates or if your speed is lower than
55 mph (approx. 90 km/h).
- At low or medium speed, if the
road surface is poor, ground
clearance is increased. The ve-
hicle returns to its normal posi-
tion as soon as conditions allow.
- On switching off the ignition, the
ground clearance is reduced to
the parking position.
For your safety if you are operating
underneath the vehicle, you must
support the vehicle with axle stands.
Normal position
If the speed authorised for a particu-
lar position is exceeded, the vehicle
reverts automatically to the normal
position.
Low position
To facilitate loading or unloading the
vehicle.
For workshop inspections.
Not to be used in normal driving (not
possible if speed > 6mph (10 km/h)).
High position
Changing a wheel (not possible if
speed > 6mph (10 km/h)).
Mid-high position
For increased ground clearance (not
possible if speed > 25 mph (40 km/h)).
For use on diffi cult roads when trav-
elling at reduced speed, as well as
on car park ramps.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL(DIESEL)
HDi 115 engine
)
Unclip the protective cover to gain
access to the priming pump.
HDi 140 and HDi 160 engines
)
Unclip the protective cover to gain
access to the priming pump.
Priming the fuel system
In the event of running out of fuel:
)
after fi lling (minimum 5 litres) and
removing the protective cover,
operate the manual priming pump,
until some resistance is felt,
)
operate the starter motor while
depressing the accelerator pedal
slightly until the engine starts. HDi engines make use of ad-
vanced technology.
For any work on your vehicle, con-
tact a qualifi ed workshop that has
the skills and equipment required,
which a CITROËN dealer is able to
provide.
V6 HDi 240 engine with electric
pump
In the event of running out of fuel:
)
after adding fuel, turn the ignition
key to position M
, wait for a few
seconds,
)
operate the starter motor until
the engine starts.
If the engine fails to start after sev-
eral attempts, contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop. If the engine fails to start at the fi rst
attempt, wait fi fteen seconds before
trying again.
If the engine fails to start after a few
attempts, operate the priming pump
again and then try to start the en-
gine.
When the engine is idling, accelerate
slightly to complete the bleeding of
the circuit.

CHECKING LEVELS
Oil level
The check is carried out either
when the ignition is switched
on using the oil level indicator
on the instrument panel, or
using the dipstick.
This manual check will only be cor-
rect if the vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been off for more
than 30 minutes.
It is normal to top up the oil level be-
tween two services (or oil changes).
CITROËN recommends that you
check the level, and top up if neces-
sary, every 3 000 miles (5 000 kms).
After topping up the oil, the check
when switching on the ignition with
the oil level indicator in the instru-
ment panel is not valid during the
30 minutes after topping up.
If a level drops signifi cantly, have
the corresponding system checked
by a CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed
workshop.
Check all of these levels regularly
and top them up if necessary, unless
otherwise indicated.
Take care when working under the
bonnet, as certain areas of the en-
gine may be extremely hot (risk of
burns).
Engine oil change
Refer to the servicing booklet for
details of the interval for this opera-
tion.
In order to maintain the reli-
ability of the engine and emis-
sion control system, the use
of additives in the engine oil is
prohibited.
Oil specifi cation
The oil must be the correct grade
for your engine and conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
Brake fluid level
The brake fl uid level should
be close to the "MAX" mark.
If it is not, check the brake
pad wear.
Changing the fl uid
Refer to the servicing booklet for de-
tails of the interval for this operation.
Fluid specifi cation
The brake fl uid must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations
and meet the DOT4 standard.
Power steering or power
steering and suspension
fluid level
For topping up, it is necessary
to go to a CITROËN dealer or
a qualifi ed workshop.
Dipstick
There are two marks on
the dipstick:
A
= max; never exceed
this level,
B
= min; top up the oil
level via the oil fi ller cap,
using the correct grade of
oil for your engine.

Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle
emission filter)
Topping up
This additive must be topped up by
a CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed
workshop without delay.
Used products
Avoid prolonged contact of
used oil or fl uids with the skin.
Most of these fl uids are harmful to
health or indeed very corrosive.
Do not discard used oil or fl u-
ids into sewers or onto the
ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN dealer
or a qualifi ed workshop (France) or
to an authorised waste disposal
site. The additive reservoir
low level is indicated
by fi xed illumination
of this warning lamp,
accompanied by an audible warning
and a message in the multifunction
screen.
Coolant level
The coolant level should be
close to the "MAX" mark but
should never exceed it.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is regulated
by the fan. This can operate with the
ignition off.
Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be
changed.
Fluid specifi cation
The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.
For vehicles fi tted with a particle
emissions fi lter, the cooling fan may
continue to run after stopping the
vehicle, even if the engine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is
pressurised, wait at least one hour
after switching off the engine before
carrying out any work.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew
the cap by two turns to allow the pres-
sure to drop. When the pressure has
dropped, remove the cap and top up
the level.
Screenwash and headlamp
wash fluid
In the case of vehicles fi tted
with headlamp washers, the
low fl uid level is indicated
by an audible signal and a
message in the screen.
Top up the reservoir when you next
stop the vehicle.
Fluid specifi cation
For optimum cleaning and to avoid
freezing, this fl uid must not be
topped up with or replaced with plain
water.
Reservoir capacity (depending on
version).
- screenwash fl uid: approximately
3.5 litres,
- screenwash and headlamp wash
fl uid: approximately 6.15 litres.

TEMPORARY PUNCTURE
REPAIR KIT
Using the kit
The kit is located in the boot under
the fl oor.
)
Switch off the ignition.
)
Affi x the speed limitation sticker
to the vehicle's steering wheel
to remind you that a wheel is in
temporary use.
)
Check that the switch A
is in po-
sition "0"
.
)
Connect the pipe of the cartridge 1
to
the valve of the tyre to be repaired.
)
Connect the compressor's elec-
tric plug to the vehicle's 12 V
socket.
)
Start the vehicle and leave the
engine running. Complete system consisting of a
compressor and a sealant cartridge
which permits the temporary repair
of the tyre so that you can drive to
the nearest garage.
This repair kit is available from
CITROËN dealers or a qualifi ed
workshop.
It is designed to repair holes of a
maximum diameter of 6 mm, lo-
cated exclusively on the tyre tread
or shoulder. Avoid removing any
foreign bodies which have pene-
trated the tyre.

Removing a wheel
)
Park the vehicle on stable, fi rm
ground that is not slippery. apply
the parking brake.
)
If your vehicle is equipped with
"Hydractive III+" suspension,
with the engine running at idle,
adjust the ground clearance to
its maximum height.
)
Switch off the ignition and en-
gage fi rst gear or reverse gear
depending on any slope (for a
vehicle with automatic gearbox,
select position P
).
)
If your vehicle is fi tted with
"Hydractive III+" suspension,
position the chock, whichever di-
rection the gradient may be in, in
front of the front wheel diametri-
cally opposite to the one to be
replaced.
)
Position the jack at one of the four
jacking-points provided on the un-
derbody close to the wheels, then
use the wheelbrace to unwind the
jack until it reaches the ground.
)
Remove the protector from each
bolt using tool 3
.
)
Slacken the wheel bolts.
Before positioning the jack:
)
Always adjust the vehicle’s
ground clearance to the "maxi-
mum height" position and re-
tain this adjustment for as long
as the jack is under the vehicle
(do not use the hydraulic ad-
justments),
)
Immobilise your vehicle on hor-
izontal, stable and non-slippery
ground,
)
Ensure that any passengers
have left the vehicle and are in
a safe place .
Never get underneath the vehicle if
it is supported only by the jack.
The jack and all of the tools are
specifi c to your vehicle. Do not use
them for any other applications.
Have the original wheel repaired
and refi tted as soon as possible.
)
Continue to extend the jack until
the wheel is a few centimetres
off the ground.
)
Undo the bolts, remove the wheel.
