Limit the causes of excess
consumption
Spread loads throughout the vehicle.
Limit the loads carried in the vehicle and
reduce wind resistance (roof bars, roof
rack, trailer...).
At the end of winter, remove snow tyres
and refit your summer tyres.
Observe the recommendations on
maintenance
Check the tyre pressures regularly, when
cold, referring to the label in the door
aperture, driver's side.
Carry out this check in particular:

before a long journey

at each change of season,

after a long period out of use.
Don't forget the spare wheel and the tyres


on any trailer or caravan.
Have your vehicle serviced regularly
(engine oil, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter...)
and observe the schedule of operations in
the manufacturer's service schedule. With a BlueHDi Diesel engine, if the SCR
has a fault your vehicle becomes polluting;
go to a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible to bring the
levels of nitrous oxide emissions back into
line with the regulations.
When refuelling, do not continue after
the 3
rd cut-off of the nozzle to avoid any
overflow.
At the wheel of your new vehicle, it is only
after the first 1 800 miles (3 000 kilometres)
that you will see the fuel consumption settle
down to a consistent average.

If your vehicle is fitted with these controls,
they are located on the dashboard on the
centre console control panel.

vents, varies from 1 to the

this control in order to reach the
ambient air comfort level. To switch off the
blower, place the control in position 0.
Air conditioning
The air conditioning can only operate with
the engine running.
The fan must be set to at least 1.
Pressing the button triggers the
operation of the air conditioning;
the LED is on. Pressing the
button again switches the function off; the
LED goes off.
Air distribution
The air supply distribution is directed by the
control turned towards:
the side vents and the central
vents,
the side vents, the central vents
and the footwells,

Activation/deactivation
This control, located on the
MOd E control panel, enables
you to activate/deactivate the
operation of the rear controls
from the driver's seat.
The first press activates (LED on).
A second press deactivates (LED off). To deactivate the fan, place the control in
position 0.
However, a safety device will ventilate the
rear circuit automatically, even if the control
is in position 0, to prevent the formation of
condensation.

This audio system control panel, located in
the middle of the dashboard, gives access to
personalisation menus for certain systems.
The corresponding information appears in
the touch screen.
Nine languages are offered: Dutch, English,
French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese,
Spanish and Turkish.
As a safety precaution, some menus
can only be accessed when the ignition
is off. This control panel button gives
access to the "Settings" menu.

In low temperatures
In mountainous and/or cold areas, it is
advisable to use a "winter" type fuel suited
to low or minus temperatures.
With Stop & Start, never refuel with

the system in STOP mode; you must
switch off the ignition with the key. When the fuel tank level E
(Empty) is reached, this warning
lamp comes on.
You then have around 10 to
12 litres in the reserve, depending on the
capacity of the tank and the engine.
Refuel without delay to avoid running out of
fuel.
The fuel tank must be filled with the engine
off.
-
Open the fuel filler flap.
-

Support the black cap with one hand.
-

With the other hand, insert the key
, then
turn it anticlockwise.
-
Remove the black cap and hook it onto

the clip located on the inside of the flap. A label affixed to the inside of the flap
reminds you of the type of fuel to be used.
When filling the fuel tank, do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle. This could
cause malfunctions.
-

After filling the fuel tank, lock the black

cap and close the flap.
BlueH d i and AdBlue
The blue cap is only present on BlueHDi
Diesel versions.
For more information, refer to the "AdBlue"
section.
To understand the significance of the
precautions mentioned on the labels,
refer to the "Quick help - Label glossary"
section.
The capacity of the fuel tank is
approximately 90
litres.
Fuel tanks of different capacities may be
fitted, 60 and 120 litres, depending on the
engine.

BLuEHdI And AdBLuE®
AdBlue® is the brand name of the solution
needed for operation of the SCR system.
This solution is a urea-based fluid.
This fluid is non-flammable, colourless and
odourless. BlueHDI vehicles have a specific AdBlue
®
additive tank with a capacity of 15 litres.
It has an exterior filler located behind the
fuel filler flap below the fuel filler cap and
closed with a blue filler cap.
The aim of BlueHDi is to reduce the
emissions of NOx (nitrous oxides) in the
air by up to 90%, using a system that
converts NOx into water vapour and nitrogen
in a dedicated catalytic converter: SCR
(Selective Catalytic Reduction).
This objective meets the "Euro 6" emissions
standard adopted by the European Union
aimed at limiting the emissions of pollutants
from internal combustion engines.
The SCR technology used on BlueHDi
engines involves the injection of AdBlue®
into the exhaust system.

This operation can also be carried out
by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop.
These bottles and containers are available
from CITROËN dealers. Filling the AdBlue tank
Filling of the AdBlue
® tank can be done
using:

5 or 10 litres containers equipped with a

10 centimetre filler tube or the filling kit
available from CITROËN dealers,
-

1.89 litre bottles that are screwed onto

the filler neck, available from CITROËN
dealers,
-

or when at a fuel filling station equipped

with a special AdBlue
® delivery pump for
heavy or light vehicles. Good practice
Once the AdBlue level drops to the reserve
level, you are warned by different temporary
signals (warning lamp, message, audible
signal).
When the AdBlue
® tank is empty,
restarting becomes impossible.
It is strongly recommended that you do not
wait for the successive alerts, but top-up the
AdBlue
® as soon as possible.
To facilitate filling, an adaptor is also
available from CITROËN dealers.
