In the event of a breakdown
1 - Getting the tools
They are stored in a box under the front
passenger seat.


â–º Turn the button a quarter turn, then pull the
tool box.
â–º After use, press the button, then turn a
quarter turn to lock the tool box.

2 - Removing the spare
wheel from its housing
To facilitate this, lift the rear of the
vehicle.
The spare wheel is specific to your vehicle, do not use it on vehicles of
different models.
Also, do not use spare wheels of a different
model to your vehicle.
These indications also apply to bolts.
With steel wheels:

The spare wheel retaining bolt is located under
the rear bumper, on the right-hand side.

â–º Install extended socket A, wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B on the retaining bolt.
â–º Turn the assembly anti-clockwise to lower the
wheel.
â–º Turn to the locking point of the winch,
indicated by the hardening of the manoeuvre and
notch G not visible.
â–º After unrolling the cable completely, take the
spare wheel out.
With steel wheels:


â–º Unscrew handle H. â–º
Remove caliper I from the outer part of the
steel wheel.
With alloy wheels:


â–º Unscrew the three fixing bolts K.
â–º Unscrew handle H.
â–º Remove bracket J from caliper I.
â–º Remove the spare wheel and place it near
the wheel to be replaced.
â–º If possible, place a chock under the wheel
diagonally opposite the wheel to be changed.
3 - Position the jack
Ensure that the jack is stable.
If the ground is slippery or loose, the jack
may collapse - Risk of injury!


Take care to place the jack strictly at jacking point 1 or 2 under the vehicle,
making sure that the jack head is centred at
the contact point on the vehicle. Otherwise,
there is a risk of damage to the vehicle and/or
the jack collapsing.
Make sure that any passengers are safe
(removed, away from the vehicle).
Never put your hands or your head in the
wheel arch.

Never go underneath a vehicle raised
using a jack (use an axle stand).
Do not use:
– The jack for any other purpose than lifting
the vehicle.
– A jack other than the one supplied by the
manufacturer.
The jack must only be used to change a wheel with a damaged or punctured tyre.
The jack does not require any maintenance.
The jack meets European standards, as
defined in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/
CE.
Certain parts of the jack such as the
screw thread or the joints could cause
injury: avoid touching them.
Carefully remove all traces of lubrication
grease.
At the front

â–º Position the jack C at location 1 provided on
the underbody, near the front wheel.
At the rear

The jack must be located about 60 cm
from the edge of the rear wheel.


â–º Position the jack C at location 2 in the hole
provided for this purpose.
Special feature with a side footboard


If the vehicle is so equipped, make sure to place
the jack at 45° so that it does not interfere with
the footboard.
4 - Replacing the wheel to
be repaired
â–º Remove the wheel trim (depending on
version) by levering with screwdriver E.
â–º Unlock the bolts using wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B.
For more information on Positioning the
jack, refer to the corresponding section.
â–º Make sure that the jack is stable and
correctly positioned on the underbody.


â–º Using wheelbrace D and wheel bar B, extend
the jack sufficiently to release the wheel.
To clear the wheel easily, a space of about 2 to 3 cm is needed between the
ground and the tyre.
If the wheel is badly punctured/crushed,
increase the space but do not operate the
jack to its maximum lifting position.

84 - Replacing the wheel to
be repaired
â–º Remove the wheel trim (depending on
version) by levering with screwdriver E.
â–º Unlock the bolts using wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B.
For more information on Positioning the
jack, refer to the corresponding section.
â–º Make sure that the jack is stable and
correctly positioned on the underbody.


â–º Using wheelbrace D and wheel bar B, extend
the jack sufficiently to release the wheel.
To clear the wheel easily, a space of about 2 to 3 cm is needed between the
ground and the tyre.
If the wheel is badly punctured/crushed,
increase the space but do not operate the
jack to its maximum lifting position.


â–º Unscrew the bolts completely and remove the
wheel to be repaired.
â–º Make sure that the spare wheel contact
surfaces, the bolts and bolt housings are clean
and free of impurities that could cause loosening
of the fixing bolts.
Do not grease the bolts before screwing
them on: they could unscrew themselves
spontaneously.


â–º Fit the spare wheel by aligning the 2
holes M with the 2 corresponding shafts N.
â–º Start screwing the bolts by hand.


Screw the bolts in this order.

â–º Lightly tighten using wheelbrace D and wheel
bar B.
â–º Lower the vehicle using wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B, and then remove the jack.
â–º Tighten the bolts again using wheelbrace D
and wheel bar B.
Have the tightening of the bolts and the
pressure of the spare wheel checked by
the Manufacturer's dealer network or a
qualified workshop without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired and
refitted on the vehicle as soon as possible.
If your vehicle has tyre under-inflation
detection, check the tyre pressures and
reinitialise the system.
5 - Storing the wheel to be
repaired
You must reposition the wheel to be repaired or
the spare wheel under the vehicle to lock the
winch system.
Check that it is securely fastened in its
compartment under the floor.
Improper wheel positioning can compromise
safety.
â–º Reposition the wheel at the rear of the
vehicle.
With steel wheels:


â–º Hang bracket I on the outer part.
â–º Screw handle H to secure the bracket and
the steel wheel.
With alloy wheels:


â–º Position bracket J on caliper I.
â–º Screw handle H.
â–º Screw the three fixing bolts K of caliper I onto
the alloy wheel.


â–º Install extended socket A, wheelbrace D and
wheel bar B on the retaining bolt.
â–º Turn the assembly clockwise to completely
wind up the cable and raise the wheel as far as
possible under the vehicle.
â–º Check that the wheel is flat against the floor
of the vehicle and that the notch G of the winch
is visible.
â–º Store the tools and the wheel trim (depending
on version).
For more information on
the Identification markings of the
vehicle, and in particular the tyre pressure
label, refer to the corresponding section.
Changing a bulb
The headlamps have polycarbonate lenses with a protective coating:
â–º do not clean them using a dry or
abrasive cloth, nor with a detergent or
solvent product,
â–º use a sponge and soapy water or a pH
neutral product,
â–º when using a high pressure washer on
persistent marks, do not keep the lance
directed towards the lamps or their edges for
too long, so as not to damage their protective
coating and seals.
Changing a bulb must only be done with
the ignition off and after the lamp has
been switched off for several minutes - Risk
of serious burns!
â–º Do not touch the bulb directly with your
fingers, use a lint-free cloth.
It is essential only to use anti-ultraviolet
(UV) type bulbs, so as not to damage the
headlamp.
Always replace a failed bulb with a new bulb
with the same type and specification.
In some weather conditions (e.g. low
temperature or humidity), the presence
of misting on the internal surface of the glass
of the headlamps and rear lamps is normal; it

If necessary, you can remove the lamp unit:

â–º Depending on the country of sale, remove
the winter protection foam by sliding it sideways
towards the outside.
â–º Disconnect the electrical connector by
removing its locking ring.
â–º Remove the two fixing screws of the lamp
unit.
â–º Move the lamp unit towards the centre of the
vehicle to extract it from its slides. Pay attention
to the bonnet stay on the left-hand side.
Main beam headlamps
Type D, H7 - 55W
â–º Remove the cover by pulling on the rubber
tab.
â–º Disconnect the electrical connector. â–º
Release the locking spring by pressing the
central clamp.
â–º Change the bulb taking care to align the
metal part with the groove on the lamp.
Dipped beam headlamps
Type D, H7 - 55W
â–º Remove the cover by pulling on the rubber
tab.
â–º Disconnect the electrical connector.
â–º Release the locking spring by pressing the
central clamp.
â–º Change the bulb taking care to align the
metal part with the grooves on the lamp.
Direction indicators
Type A, WY21W - 21W
â–º Remove the cover by pulling on the rubber
tab.
â–º Turn the bulb holder a quarter turn
anti-clockwise.
â–º Change the bulb.
Sidelamps/Daytime running lamps
Type B, W21/5W - 21W and 5W
â–º Remove the cover by pulling on the rubber
tab.
â–º Turn the bulb holder a quarter turn
anti-clockwise.
â–º Change the bulb.
LED daytime running lamps

These light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are used both
as daytime running lamps and as sidelamps.
If your vehicle is equipped with LED daytime
running lamps, contact a CITROËN dealer.
Front foglamps
Type D, H11-55W
â–º Completely turn the wheel inwards.

â–º Remove the screw, located in the wheel arch.
â–º Remove the protective flap.


â–º Remove the fixing clip and disconnect the
electrical connector.
â–º Turn and remove the bulb holder.
â–º Change the bulb taking care to align the
metal part with the grooves on the lamp.
The replacement of halogen bulbs must be done with the headlamps switched off
a few minutes beforehand (risk of serious
burns). Do not touch the bulb directly with
your fingers; use a lint-free cloth.
When each operation has been completed,
check the operation of the lighting.
Direction indicator side
repeaters
Type A, W16WF - 16W

â–º Move the glass of the mirror to access the
screws.
â–º Remove the two fixing screws.
â–º Pull the bulb holder to release it from the
pins.
â–º Pull the bulb out and change it.
Left-hand and right-hand
sidelamps
Type A, W5W - 5W

â–º If fitted on the vehicle (dimension L4), remove
the two fixing screws.
â–º Pull the bulb holder to release it from the
pins.
â–º Pull the bulb out and change it.
Courtesy lamps
Type C, 12V 10W - 10W

â–º Connect the red cable to metallic terminal A,
then to the (+) terminal of backup battery B.
â–º Connect one end of the green or black cable
to the negative (-) terminal of backup battery B.
â–º Connect the other end of the green or black
cable to earth point C of your vehicle.
â–º Operate the starter, let the engine run.
â–º Wait for the engine to return to idle and
disconnect the cables.
Charging the battery using a
battery charger
â–º Access the battery, located in the left-hand
front floor.
â–º Disconnect the battery.
â–º Follow the instructions for use provided by
the manufacturer of the charger.
â–º Reconnect starting with the (-) terminal.
â–º Check the cleanliness of the terminals. If they
are covered with sulphate (whitish or greenish
deposit), remove and clean them.
The charging operation must be carried out in a well-ventilated area and away
from naked flames and any sources of sparks
so as to avoid the risk of explosion or fire.
Do not try to recharge a frozen battery: it
must first be thawed to avoid the risk of
explosion. If it has frozen, before charging it,
have the battery checked by a specialist who
will check that the interior components have
not been damaged and that the container is
not cracked, which would involve a risk of
leakage of toxic and corrosive acid.
Perform a slow charge at low amperage for
about 24 hours maximum to avoid damaging
the battery.
The presence of this label, in particular with the Stop & Start system, indicates
the use of a 12 V lead-acid battery with
special technology and specification; the
involvement of a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified workshop is essential when
replacing or disconnecting the battery.
After refitting the battery at a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop, the Stop
& Start system will only be active after a
continuous period of immobilisation of the
vehicle, a period which depends on the
climatic conditions and the state of charge of
the battery (up to about 8 hours).
Towing
General recommendations
Observe the legislation in force in the
country where you are driving.
Ensure that the weight of the towing vehicle is
higher than that of the towed vehicle.
The driver must remain at the wheel of the
towed vehicle and must have a valid driving
licence.
When towing a vehicle with all four wheels on
the ground, always use an approved towing
arm; rope and straps are prohibited.
The towing vehicle must move off gently.
When the vehicle is towed with its engine
off, there is no longer braking and steering
assistance.
A professional towing service must be
called if:
– Broken down on a motorway or main road.
– Not possible to put the gearbox into neutral,
unlock the steering, or release the parking
brake.
– Not possible to tow a vehicle with an
automatic gearbox, with the engine running.
– Towing with only two wheels on the ground.
– Four-wheel drive vehicle.
– No approved towbar available.
Towing your vehicle

box under the front passenger seat.
â–º Unclip the cover using a flat tool.


â–º Screw the removable towing eye in fully.
â–º Attach the approved towbar to the removable
towing eye.
â–º Place the gear lever in neutral.

Towing your vehicle
The removable towing eye is located in the tool
box under the front passenger seat.
â–º Unclip the cover using a flat tool.


â–º Screw the removable towing eye in fully.
â–º Attach the approved towbar to the removable
towing eye.
â–º Place the gear lever in neutral.
Failure to adhere to this instruction may
lead to damage to braking system
components and the lack of braking
assistance on restarting the engine.
Towing another vehicle

The fixed towing eye is located under the
bumper, on the right-hand side.
â–º Attach the approved towbar to the rigid eye.
