Driver’s responsibility
Never leave your vehicle
with the keys inside when
leaving a child (or animal)
in the car, even for a short period.
The reason for this is that the child
may endanger himself or others by
starting the engine, activating equip-
ment such as the window winders
for example, or locking the doors.

Advice
Avoid leaving the remote control in
hot, cold or humid areas.

remote control unit

It is powered by a battery which must
be replaced (refer to the information on
the “Radio frequency remote control:
batteries” in Section 5).
Locking the doors
Press locking button 1 .
The hazard warning lights and side in-
dicator lights flash twice to indicate
that the doors have locked.
If a door or the tailgate is open or not
properly shut, the doors and tailgate
lock then quickly unlock and the hazard
warning lights and side indicator lights
do not flash.
Unlocking the doors
Press unlocking button 2 .
The hazard warning lights and side in-
dicator lights flash once to indicate that
the doors have unlocked.

Electric central locking
The tailgate is locked and unlocked at
the same time as the doors.
To open, press button
2 and lift the tail-
gate.
To close, push the luggage compart-
ment lid downwards.

Manual control
To open, insert the key in the lock and
turn it clockwise.
Remove the key and press button

Lift the luggage compartment lid.
T

o close , push the luggage compart-
ment lid downwards. Insert the ignition
key in the lock and turn it anticlockwise.
Always position the heaviest items directly on the floor. Use the lashing points on the luggage compartment floor, if
these are fitted to the vehicle. The luggage should be loaded in such a way that no items will be thrown forward and
strike the occupants if the driver has to brake suddenly. Fasten the rear seat belts, even if the seats are not occupied.
Transporting objects in the
luggage compartment
Always position the objects transported
so that the largest surface is against:
–

The
back of the rear bench seat, for
normal loading.
–

The front seats for maximum loads.

nsure that the load is evenly distrib-
uted over the largest possible loading
surface to prevent damage to the ve-
hicle.

Removal
Unhook the two cords 1 (tailgate side).
Rear parcel shelf
Do not place any objects,
especially heavy or hard
objects, on the parcel shelf.
These may pose a risk to
the vehicle occupants if the driver
has to brake suddenly or if the vehi-
cle is involved in an accident.
Lift rear parcel shelf 2 slightly and pull it
towards you.
T
o refit it, proceed in reverse order to
removal.

In the event of a puncture,
depending on the vehicle,
you will have:An emergency spare wheel or tyre in-
flation kit (refer to the information on the
following pages).
If the emergency spare wheel has been stored for several years, have it checked by your Dealer to ensure that it is
safe to use.
Vehicles fitted with an emergency spare wheel which is different to the f\
our other wheels:
–

Never fit more than one emergency spare wheel to the same v
ehicle.
–

Repla
ce the emergency spare wheel as soon as possible with a wheel identical to the original one.
–

When
this is fitted to the vehicle, which must only be a temporary measure, the driving speed must not exceed the speed
indicated on the label on the wheel.
–

Fitting
an emergency spare wheel may alter the way the vehicle usually runs. Avoid sudden acceleration or deceleration and
reduce your speed when cornering.
–

If

you need to use snow chains, fit the emergency spare wheel to the rear axle and check the tyre pressure.
