Drunk driving is one of the most frequent causes of accidents. Your driving ability can be seriously impaired with blood alcohol levels far
below the legal minimum. If you are drinking, don’t drive. Ride with \
a designated non-drinking driver, call a cab, a rideshare, a friend, or use public

ON/RUN
 Driving position.
 All electrical devices are available (e.g. climate
controls, etc.).
START
 The engine will start (when foot is on the brake pedal).
NOTE:If the ignition switch does not change the mode by pushing
the button, the key fob may have a low or depleted battery.
In this situation, a backup method can be used to operate
the ignition switch. Put the nose side (side opposite of the
emergency key) of the key fob against the START/STOP
ignition button and push to operate the ignition switch.

Depleted Key Fob Battery Procedure
NOTE:

When opening the driver's door with the ignition in
ON/RUN (engine not running), a chime will sound to
remind you to place the ignition in the OFF position.
In addition to the chime, the message will display
“Ignition Or Accessory On” in the cluster.
 For more information on proper engine starting
procedures, see
Úpage 76.
REMOTE START — IF EQUIPPED
This system uses the key fob to start the engine
conveniently from outside the vehicle while still
maintaining security.
Remote Start is used to defrost windows in cold weather,
and to reach a comfortable climate in all ambient
conditions before the driver enters the vehicle.
NOTE:Obstructions between the vehicle and key fob may reduce
this range Úpage 277.
WARNING!
 When exiting the vehicle, always remove the key fob
from the vehicle and lock your vehicle.
 Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with
access to an unlocked vehicle.
 Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended is
dangerous for a number of reasons. A child or others
could be seriously or fatally injured. Children should
be warned not to touch the parking brake, brake
pedal or the gear selector.
 Do not leave the key fob in or near the vehicle, or in
a location accessible to children, and do not leave
the Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ Ignition in the ON/RUN
position. A child could operate power windows, other
controls, or move the vehicle.
 Do not leave children or animals inside parked vehi -
cles in hot weather. Interior heat buildup may cause
serious injury or death.
CAUTION!
An unlocked vehicle is an invitation for thieves. Always
remove key fob from the vehicle and lock all doors
when leaving the vehicle unattended.
WARNING!
 Do not start or run an engine in a closed garage or
confined area. Exhaust gas contains carbon
monoxide which is odorless and colorless. Carbon
monoxide is poisonous and can cause serious injury
or death when inhaled.
 Keep key fobs away from children. Operation of the
Remote Start system, windows, door locks or other
controls could cause serious injury or death.

POWER OUTLETS
Your vehicle is equipped with 12 Volt (15 Amp) power
outlets that can be used to power cellular phones, small
electronics and other low powered electrical accessories.
The power outlets are labeled with either a “key” or a
“battery” symbol to indicate how the outlet is powered.
Power outlets labeled with a key symbol are powered
when the ignition is in the ON or ACC position, while the
outlets labeled with a battery symbol are connected
directly to the battery and powered at all times.
NOTE:All accessories connected to the battery powered outlets
should be removed or turned off when the vehicle is not in
use to protect the battery against discharge.
The front power outlet is located inside the storage area
on the center stack of the instrument panel.
Front Power Outlet

In addition to the front power outlet, there is also a power
outlet located in the storage area of the center console.

Center Console Power Outlet

If the Media Hub is in use, do not exceed the maximum
power of 100 W (8 Amp) for the center console power
outlet. When the Media Hub is not in use, the outlet can
deliver up to 160 W (13 Amp). If the power rating is
exceeded, the fuse protecting the system needs to be
replaced.
NOTE:The instrument panel power outlet and dual rear console
USB ports can be changed to battery powered all the times
by moving the #12 20 Amp fuse from “IGN” to “B+”

CAUTION!
Power outlets are designed for accessory plugs only.
Do not insert any other object in the power outlets as
this will damage the outlet and blow the fuse. Improper
use of the power outlet can cause damage not covered
by your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

POWER WINDOW CONTROLS
The window controls on the driver's door control all the
door windows.

Power Window Switches

The passenger door windows can also be operated by
using the single window controls on the passenger door
trim panel. The window controls will operate only when the
ignition is in the ACC or ON/RUN position.
To open the window part way (manually), push the window
switch down briefly and release.
NOTE:The power window switches will remain active for up to
10 minutes after the ignition is placed in the OFF position.
Opening either front door will cancel this feature. The
timing is programmable within Uconnect Settings
Úpage 112.
AUTOMATIC WINDOW FEATURES
Auto-Down Feature
The driver and front passenger door power window
switches have an Auto-Down feature. Push the window
switch down to the second detent, release, and the
window will go down automatically.
To stop the window from going all the way down during the
Auto-Down operation, pull up or push down on the switch
briefly.
WARNING!
To avoid serious injury or death:
Only devices designed for use in this type of outlet
should be inserted into any 12 Volt outlet.
 Do not touch with wet hands.
 Close the lid when not in use and while driving the
vehicle.
 If this outlet is mishandled, it may cause an electric
shock and failure.
CAUTION!
Many accessories that can be plugged in draw power
from the vehicle's battery even when not in use
(i.e., cellular phones, etc.). Eventually, if plugged in
long enough, the vehicle's battery will discharge suffi -
ciently to degrade battery life and/or prevent the
engine from starting.
 Accessories that draw higher power (i.e., coolers,
vacuum cleaners, lights, etc.) will degrade the
battery even more quickly. Only use these intermit -
tently and with greater caution.
 After the use of high power draw accessories or long
periods of the vehicle not being started (with acces -
sories still plugged in), the vehicle must be driven a
sufficient length of time to allow the alternator to
recharge the vehicle's battery.
 Power outlets are designed for accessory plugs only.
Do not hang any type of accessory or accessory
bracket from the plug. Improper use of the power
outlet can cause damage.
CAUTION!
WARNING!
Never leave children unattended in a vehicle, and do
not let children play with power windows. Do not leave
the key fob in or near the vehicle, or in a location
accessible to children, and do not leave the Keyless
Enter ‘n Go™ Ignition in the ACC or ON/RUN position.
Occupants, particularly unattended children, can
become entrapped by the windows while operating the
power window switches. Such entrapment may result in
serious injury or death.

Audio
This menu displays the Audio information of the currently
playing audio source (e.g. FM radio).
Messages
This feature shows the number of stored warning
messages, if any. Pushing the right or left arrow
button will allow you to scroll through the stored
messages.
Screen Setup
Push and release the up or down arrow button until
the Screen Setup Menu displays in the instrument cluster
display. Push and release the OK button to enter the
submenus. The Screen Setup feature allows you to
change what information is displayed in the instrument
cluster as well as the location that information is
displayed.
NOTE:Based upon equipment options and current vehicle
status, some of the features may not be available. 

EDUCTION ACTIONS — IF EQUIPPED
This vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor
(IBS) to perform additional monitoring of the electrical
system and status of the vehicle battery. In cases when the IBS detects charging system failure, or
the vehicle battery conditions are deteriorating, electrical
load reduction actions will take place to extend the driving
time and distance of the vehicle. This is done by reducing
power to or turning off non-essential electrical loads.
Load reduction is only active when the engine is running.
It will display a message if there is a risk of battery
depletion to the point where the vehicle may stall due to
lack of electrical supply, or will not restart after the current
drive cycle.
When load reduction is activated, the message “Battery
Saver On” or “Battery Saver Mode” will appear in the
instrument cluster.
These messages indicate the vehicle battery has a low
state of charge and continues to lose electrical charge at
a rate that the charging system cannot sustain.
NOTE:

The charging system is independent from load reduc -
tion. The charging system performs a diagnostic on the
charging system continuously.
 If the Battery Charge Warning Light is on it may indicate
a problem with the charging system

Historical Data
The Historical Data feature allows you to view information
about your vehicle such as the VIN, miles on the odometer,
longitude and latitude coordinates, and more.
To activate the Historical Data feature on your
touchscreen, follow these steps:

1. Select the Home page tab within Performance Pages. Then, press the settings icon (gear icon) in
the upper right hand corner of the touchscreen.

2. Towards the bottom of the screen, a checkbox will appear next to “Include historical data in
screenshot.” Click the box to signify that this feature
will be on.

NOTE:
Once the checkbox is selected, the bottom bar of the
screen will be replaced with the historical data from your
vehicle present at the time the screenshot icon was
pressed.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY213
If the tire pressure is 19 psi (1.3 Bar) or higher:

1. Push the Power Button to turn on Tire Service Kit
and inflate the tire to the pressure indicated on the
tire and loading information label on the driver-side
door opening.

NOTE:If the tire becomes overinflated, push the Deflation Button
to reduce the tire pressure to the recommended inflation
pressure before continuing.
2. Disconnect the Tire Service Kit from the valve stem, reinstall the cap on the valve stem and unplug from
12 Volt outlet.
3. Place the Tire Service Kit in its proper storage area in the vehicle.
4. Have the tire inspected and repaired or replaced at the earliest opportunity at an authorized dealer or tire
service center.
5. Remove the Speed Limit sticker from the instrument panel after the tire has been repaired.
6. Replace the Sealant Bottle and Sealant Hose assembly at an authorized dealer as soon as
possible.
NOTE:When having the tire serviced, advise the authorized
dealer or service center that the tire has been sealed
using the Tire Service Kit.
(F) Sealant Bottle And Hose Replacement:

1. Replace the Tire Service Kit Sealant Bottle and Sealant Hose prior to the expiration date (printed at
the upper left hand corner on the bottle label) to
assure optimum operation of the system

2. Uncoil the Sealant Hose (clear in color).
3. Locate the round Sealant Bottle release button in the
recessed area under the sealant bottle.
4. Push the Sealant Bottle release button. The Sealant Bottle will pop up. Remove the bottle and dispose of
it accordingly.
5. Clean any remaining sealant from the Tire Service Kit housing.
6. Position the new Sealant Bottle in the housing so that the Sealant Hose aligns with the hose slot in the front
of the housing. Push the bottle into the housing. An
audible click will be heard indicating the bottle is
locked into place. 7. Verify that the cap is installed on the fitting at the end
of the Sealant Hose and return the hose to its storage
area (located on the bottom of the air pump).
8. Return the Tire Service Kit to its storage location in the vehicle.
JUMP STARTING
If your vehicle has a discharged battery, it can be jump
started using a set of jumper cables and a battery in
another vehicle, or by using a portable battery booster
pack. Jump starting can be dangerous if done improperly,
so please follow the procedures in this section carefully.
NOTE:When using a portable battery booster pack, follow the
manufacturer's operating instructions and precautions.
WARNING!
Do not attempt jump starting if the battery is frozen. It
could rupture or explode and cause personal injury.
CAUTION!
Do not use a portable battery booster pack or any other
booster source with a system voltage greater than
12 Volts or damage to the battery, starter motor,
alternator or electrical system may occur.

PREPARATIONS FOR JUMP START
The battery is stored under an access cover in the trunk.
Remote battery posts are located on the right side of the
engine compartment for jump starting.

Jump Starting Locations

NOTE:
The remote battery posts are viewed by standing on the
right side of the vehicle looking over the fender. The
positive battery post may be covered with a protective cap.
Lift up on the cap to gain access to the positive battery
post. Do not jump off fuses. Only jump directly off the
remote positive post which has a positive (+) symbol on or
around the post. See the following steps to prepare for jump starting:

1. Apply the parking brake, shift the automatic
transmission into PARK and place the ignition in the
OFF position.

2. Turn off the heater, radio, and all electrical accessories.
3. If using another vehicle to jump start the battery, park the vehicle within the reach of the jumper cables,
apply the parking brake, and make sure the ignition is
OFF.
JUMP STARTING PROCEDURE
Connecting The Jumper Cables

1. Connect the positive
(+) end of the jumper cable to
the remote positive (+)
post of the vehicle with the
discharged battery.

2. Connect the opposite end of the positive (+) jumper
cable to the positive (+) post of the booster battery.
3. Connect the negative (-) end of the jumper cable to
the negative (-) post of the booster battery.

WARNING!
 Take care to avoid the radiator cooling fan whenever
the hood is raised. It can start anytime the ignition
switch is ON. You can be injured by moving fan
blades.
 Remove any metal jewelry such as rings, watch
bands and bracelets that could make an inadvertent
electrical contact. You could be seriously injured.
 Batteries contain sulfuric acid that can burn your
skin or eyes and generate hydrogen gas which is
flammable and explosive. Keep open flames or
sparks away from the battery.
 Do not allow vehicles to touch each other as this
could establish a ground connection and personal
injury could result.
WARNING!
Failure to follow this jump starting procedure could
result in personal injury or property damage due to
battery explosion.
CAUTION!
Failure to follow these procedures could result in
damage to the charging system of the booster vehicle
or the discharged vehicle.
