Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) — If Equipped
This feature allows the driver to operate the ignition
switch with the push of a button, as long as the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is in the passenger
compartment.
The Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) has four operating
positions, three of which are labeled and will illuminate
when in position. The three positions are OFF, ACC, and
ON/RUN. The fourth position is START, during start
RUN will illuminate.
NOTE:In case the ignition switch does not change with
the push of a button, the RKE transmitter (Key Fob) may
have a low or dead battery. In this situation a back up
method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put
the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the
Key Fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button and
push to operate the ignition switch.

2. Perform one of the following methods to lock thevehicle:
• Push LOCK on the interior power door lock switch
with the driver and/or passenger door open.
• Push the LOCK button on the exterior Passive Entry
Door Handle with a valid Key Fob available in the
same exterior zone (refer to Keyless Enter-N-Go™
in Things To Know Before Starting Your Vehicle for
further information).
• Push the LOCK button on the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) transmitter.
3. If any doors are open, close them.To Disarm The System
The Vehicle Security Alarm can be disarmed using any of
the following methods:
• Push the UNLOCK button on the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) transmitter.
• Grasp the Passive Entry Unlock Door Handle (if
equipped, refer to Keyless Enter-N-Go™ inThings
To Know Before Starting Your Vehicle for further
information).
• Cycle the vehicle ignition system out of the OFF
position.
• For vehicles equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go™,
push the Keyless Enter-N-Go™ START/STOP but-
ton (requires at least one valid Key Fob in the
vehicle).

•The engine can be started two consecutive times (two
15-minute cycles) with the RKE transmitter. However,
the ignition must be cycled to the RUN position before
you can repeat the start sequence for a third cycle.
To Exit Remote Start Mode Without Driving The
Vehicle
Push and release the REMOTE START button one time or
allow the engine to run for the entire 15-minute cycle.
NOTE: To avoid unintentional shutdowns, the system
will disable the one time push of the REMOTE START
button for two seconds after receiving a valid Remote
Start request.
To Exit Remote Start Mode And Drive The Vehicle
Before the end of 15-minute cycle, push and release the
UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter to unlock the
doors and disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm (if
equipped). Then, prior to the end of the 15-minute cycle,
push and release the START/STOP button (vehicles
equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go™) or insert the key
and turn it to the RUN position (vehicles not equipped
with Keyless Enter-N-Go™).
NOTE: The message Remote Start Active Push Start
Button (vehicles equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go™)
or Remote Start Active Key to Run (vehicles not
equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go™) will display in the
EVIC until you push the START button or turn the key to
the RUN position.

To Enter The Trunk
With a valid Passive Entry RKE transmitter within 3 ft
(1.0 m) of the deck lid, push the button on the right side
of CHMSL, (Center High Mounted Stop Light) which is
located on the deck lid.NOTE:
If you inadvertently leave your vehicle’s Passive
Entry RKE transmitter in the trunk and try to close the
trunk lid, the trunk lid will automatically unlatch, unless
another one of the vehicle’s Passive Entry RKE transmit-
ters is outside the vehicle and within 3 ft (1.0 m) of the
deck lid.
To Lock The Vehicle’s Doors
With one of the vehicle’s Passive Entry RKE transmitters
within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the driver or passenger front door
handles, push the door handle LOCK button to lock all
four doors.

Reset Auto-Up
Should the Auto Up feature stop working, the window
may need to be reset. To reset Auto Up:
1. Make sure the door is fully closed.
2. Pull the window switch up to close the windowcompletely and continue to hold the switch up for an
additional two seconds after the window is closed.
3. Push the window switch down firmly to the second detent to open the window completely and continue
to hold the switch down for an additional two seconds
after the window is fully open.
Window Lockout Switch
The window lockout switch on the driver’s door trim
panel allows you to disable the window controls on the
rear passenger doors. To disable the window controls, push and release the window lockout button (setting it in
the DOWN position). To enable the window controls,
push and release the window lockout button again
(setting it in the UP position).

Turn SMS Incoming Announcement ON/OFF
Turning the SMS Incoming Announcement OFF will stop
the system from announcing the new incoming mes-
sages.
•
Press the
button.
•After the “Ready” prompt and the following beep, say
“Setup, SMS Incoming Message Announcement,” you
will then be given a choice to change it.

Engine Oil Change Indicator System
Oil Change Required
Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change
indicator system. The “Oil Change Required” message
will flash in the EVIC display for approximately 10
seconds after a single chime has sounded, to indicate the
next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change
indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the
engine oil change interval may fluctuate, dependent
upon your personal driving style.
Unless reset, this message will continue to display each
time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN
position or cycle the ignition to the ON/RUN position if
equipped with Keyless Enter-N-Go™ . To turn off the
message temporarily, press and release the MENU but-
ton. To reset the oil change indicator system (after
performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the fol-
lowing procedure.Vehicles Equipped With Keyless Enter-N-Go™
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE
START/STOP button and place the ignition in the
ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds.
3. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once to return the ignition to the
OFF/LOCK position.
Vehicles Not Equipped With Keyless Enter-N-Go™
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

Using The EVIC Menu
Vehicles Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINESTART/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the
ON/RUN position (Do not start the engine.)
2. Press and release the DOWN
arrow button to
scroll downward through the main menu to “Ve-
hicle Info”.
3. Press and release the RIGHTarrow button to
access the ”Oil Life” screen.
4. Press and hold the RIGHTarrow button for one
second to access the ”Oil Life Reset” screen.
5. Press and hold the DOWNarrow button until the
screen shows 100% oil life.
6. Press and release the Up arrow button to exit the EVIC screen. Vehicles Not Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, cycle the ignition to
the ON/RUN position (Do not start the engine.)
2.
Press and release the DOWNarrow button to scroll
downward through the main menu to “Vehicle
Info”.
3. Press and release the RIGHTarrow button to
access the ”Oil Life” screen.
4. Press and hold the RIGHTarrow button for one
second to access the ”Oil Life Reset” screen.
5. Press and hold the DOWNarrow button until the
screen shows 100% oil life.
6. Press and release the Up arrow button to exit the EVIC screen.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

•Use the << SEEKbutton during play mode to jump to
the start of the current track. Pressing the SEEK>>
button during play mode will jump to the next track in
the list, or press the VR button and say Next or
Previous Track.
• While a track is playing, press the INFObutton to see
the associated metadata (artist, track title, album, etc.)
for that track. Pressing the INFObutton again jumps
to the next screen of data for that track. Once all
screens have been viewed, the last INFObutton press
will go back to the play mode screen on the radio.
• Pressing the REPEATbutton will change the audio
device mode to repeat the current playing track or
press the VR button and say Repeat ONorRepeat
Off. •
Press the SHUFFLE button to play the selections on
the USB/iPod® device in random order to provide an
interesting change of pace. To stop Shuffle Mode, press
the SHUFFLE button again. To turn SHUFFLEOn/Off
with Voice Commands, press the
button, wait for
the beep, and say “Shuffle On” or “Shuffle Off.”
List Or Browse Mode
During Play mode, pressing any of the buttons described
below, will bring up Browse mode. List mode enables
scrolling through the list of menus and tracks on the
audio device.

Automatic Transmission — If Equipped
The shift lever must be in the PARK or NEUTRAL
position before you can start the engine. Depress the
brake pedal before shifting to any driving gear.
NOTE:You must press the brake pedal before shifting
out of PARK.
Keyless Enter-N-Go™
This feature allows the driver to oper-
ate the ignition switch with the push
of a button, as long as the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is in
the passenger compartment.
Normal Starting
Using The ENGINE START/STOP Button
1. The transmission must be in PARK or NEUTRAL.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal while pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
3. The system takes over and attempts to start the vehicle. If the vehicle fails to start, the starter will
disengage automatically after 10 seconds.
4. If you wish to stop the cranking of the engine prior to the engine starting, press the button again.
NOTE: Normal starting of either a cold or a warm engine
is obtained without pumping or pressing the accelerator
pedal.
