Curtain removal: roll up the curtain,
then pull the two hooks A fig. 42 (one
on each side) towards the internal
part of the luggage compartment. Then
raise the curtain upwards and remove
it.
WARNING
26)Take care not to knock objects on the
roof rack when opening the tailgate.
27)Make sure the backrest is properly
secured at both sides to prevent it from
moving forward in the event of sharp
braking, with possible impact with the
occupants.
28)Do not adjust the front or rear seat if a
child is seated on it or on the dedicated
child restraint system.
29)Make sure that the backrest is correctly
secured on both sides (red bands B not
visible) to prevent it from moving forward in
the event of sharp braking, causing injuries
to passengers.30)In the event of an accident or sharp
braking, any object placed on the curtain
may be projected in the passenger
compartment, and risk to hurt the
occupants.
31)Abrupt braking or occasional impacts
may cause sudden movements of the load
with consequent situations of hazard for
the driver and passengers: before setting
off, secure the load tightly using the
partition and, where provided, the
appropriate hooks. For securing use
cables, ropes or belts strong enough to
hold the items to be secured.
WARNING
13)Before tilting the seat backrest fully,
remove any objects laid on it.
14)The dimensions of the platform permit
a maximum capacity of distributed weight
of 70 kg (in position 1) or 40 kg (in position
2): do not load objects with a higher
weight.
15)Do not place heavy objects on the
curtain to prevent damaging it.
BONNETOPENINGOperate and pull the lever A fig. 43 in
the direction indicated by the arrow and
then operate lever B fig. 44 in the
direction indicated by the arrow and lift
the bonnet.

DST (Dynamic Steering
Torque or steering
corrector) system

The DST (steering corrector) function
uses the integration of the ESC system
with the electric power steering to
increase the safety level of the whole
vehicle. In critical situations
(understeering, oversteering, braking
with different grip conditions), through
the DST function the ESC system
controls the steering to implement an
additional torque contribution on the
steering wheel, to suggest the most
correct manoeuvre to the driver.
ERM (Electronic Rollover
Mitigation) SYSTEM

The system monitors the tendency of
the wheels to rise from the ground if the
driver performs extreme manoeuvres
like quick steering to avoid an obstacle,
especially in poor road conditions.
If these conditions occur, the system
intervenes on the brakes and engine
power to reduce the possibility that the
wheels are raised from the ground. It
is not possible to avoid tendency to roll
over if the phenomenon is due to
reasons such as driving on high side
gradients, collision with objects or other
vehicles.
WARNING
44)When the ABS intervenes and you feel
the brake pedal pulsating, do not reduce
the pressure, but hold it down firmly and
confidently; in doing so you will brake
in the shortest distance possible,
depending on the current road conditions.
45)To obtain the maximum efficiency of
the braking system, a bedding-in period of
about 500 km is needed: during this period
it is better to avoid sharp, repeated and
prolonged braking.46)If the ABS intervenes, this indicates
that the traction of the tyres on the road is
about to reach its limit. You must slow
down to a speed compatible with the
available grip.
47)The ABS cannot alter the natural laws
of physics, and cannot increase grip which
depends on the condition of the road.
48)The ABS cannot prevent accidents,
including those due to excessive speed on
corners, driving on low-grip surfaces or
aquaplaning.
49)The capability of the ABS must never
be tested irresponsibly and dangerously, in
such a way as to compromise personal
safety and the safety of others.
50)For the correct operation of the ABS,
the tyres must of necessity be the same
make and type on all wheels, in perfect
condition and, above all, of the prescribed
type and dimensions.
51)The HBA system cannot increase tyre
grip on the road over the limits imposed by
laws of physics: always drive carefully
according to the conditions of the road
surface.
52)The HBA system cannot prevent
accidents, including those due to excessive
speed on corners, driving on low-grip
surfaces or aquaplaning.
53)The HBA system is an aid for the driver,
who must always pay full attention while
driving. The responsibility always rests with
the driver. The capability of the HBA
system must never be tested irresponsibly
and dangerously, in such a way as to
compromise the safety of the driver, the
other occupants of the car or any other
road user.

NoteReduced-width snow chains with a maximum projection of 9 mm beyond the tyre profile can be fitted on 195/65 R15
91H and 205/55 R16 91H tyres. 225/45 R17 91H tyre cannot be fitted with snow chains.
The use of snow chains should be in compliance with local regulations of each country. In certain countries, tyres marked with
code M+S (Mud and Snow) are considered as winter equipment; therefore their use is equivalent to that of the snow chains.
Snow chains can be fitted to the tyres of the front wheels (drive wheels) only.
Check the tension of the snow chains after the first few metres have been driven.
Using snow chains with tyres with non-original dimensions may damage the vehicle.
Using different size or type (M+S, snow, etc.) tyres between front and rear axle may adversely affect vehicle driveability, with the
risk of losing control of the vehicle and resulting accidents.
Snow chains cannot be fitted to the space-saver wheel (for versions/markets, where provided). If a front tyre is punctured,
replace a rear wheel with the space-saver wheel and move the rear wheel to the front axle. In this way, with two normal drive
wheels at the front, snow chains can be fitted.
WARNING
165)The maximum speed for snow tyres marked "Q" is 160 km/h, while it is 190 km/h for "T" tyres and 210 km/h for "H" tyres. The highway
code speed limits must however always be complied with.
166)Do NOT fit hub caps when using integral caps fixed (with springs) to the steel rim and aftersales tyres provided with Rim Protector. Use
of unsuitable tyres and hub caps may cause sudden decrease of tyre pressure.
WARNING
83)Keep your speed down when snow chains are fitted; do not exceed 50 km/h. Avoid potholes, steps and pavements and avoid driving for
long distances on roads not covered with snow to prevent damaging the car and the road surface.
