REFUELLING
Petrol engines: only refuel with unleaded petrol with octane rating (RON) not less than 95 in compliance with the European specification
EN228. Using these mixtures may cause misfiring and driving issues, as well as damage fundamental components of the supply system.
Diesel engines: refuel only with Diesel fuel motor vehicles conforming to the European specification EN590. The use of other products or
mixtures may damage the engine beyond repair and consequently invalidate the warranty, due to the damage caused.
LPG engines: refuel only with LPG for motor vehicles conforming to the European specification EN589. The use of other products or
mixtures may damage the engine beyond repair and consequently invalidate the warranty, due to the damage caused.
For further details on the use of the correct fuel see the "Refuelling the vehicle" paragraph in the "Starting and driving" chapter.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Make sure that the handbrake is engaged and place the gear lever in neutral. Fully depress the clutch pedal, without pressing the accelerator,
then turn the ignition key to MAR and wait for thewarning light to switch off (and thewarning light for Diesel versions); turn the
ignition key to AVV and release it as soon as the engine starts.
Versions with Dualogic gearbox: make sure that the handbrake is engaged and that the gear lever is in P (Parking) or N (Neutral), fully
depress the brake pedal, then turn the ignition key to AVV and release it as soon as the engine is started. .
PARKING ON FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
The catalytic converter develops high temperatures during operation. Do not park the car on grass, dry leaves, pine needles or other
flammable material: fire hazard.
RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
The vehicle is fitted with a system that carries out a continuous diagnosis of the emission-related components in order to help protect the
environment.
ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES
If, after buying the vehicle, you decide to add electrical accessories (with the risk of gradually draining the battery), contact a Fiat Dealership.
They can calculate the overall electrical requirement and check that the vehicle's electric system can support the required load.
SCHEDULED SERVICING
Correct maintenance of the car is essential for ensuring that it maintains its performance and its safety features, its environmental friendliness
and low running costs for a long time to come.

LPG tank certification
The LPG tank is certified in accordance
with the regulations in force.
In Italy, the tank has a life of 10 years
starting from the car registration date. If
the vehicle has been registered in a
country other than Italy, the duration
and the testing/inspection procedures
of the LPG tank can vary depending on
the national laws of that country. In all
case, when the time limit for your
country has expired, go to a Fiat Dealer
to have the tank replaced.
SELECTION OF
PETROL/LPG SUPPLY
TYPE
32)16) 17) 18)The button A fig. 40 (petrol/LPG switch)
allows you to select running on petrol
or LPG.To guarantee switching in full safety, the
actual change to the chosen fuel
system takes place depending on the
car usage conditions; it may not
therefore be immediate.
Switching is confirmed by the green
warning light
on the instrument panel
turning on/off.
If the LPG runs out, switching to petrol
takes place automatically. In this case
the display shows the
icon just
above the wording LPG and the four
bars of the digital gauge turn off.
REFUELLING
19) 20)
LPG
Maximum refuelling capacity (including
reserve): 30.5 litres. The figure already
takes into account the 80% tank filling
limit and the residual fluid required
for priming; this figure represents the
maximum permitted capacity. In
addition, this figure may vary from one
refuelling to another due to differences
between the network pump supply
pressures, pumps having different
supply/locking features, tank not
completely run out of fuel.
WARNING
30)Note that in some countries (including
Italy) there are legal restrictions in force
for parking/garaging motor vehicles fuelled
by gas that is denser than air; LPG comes
under this category.
31)Modifications or repairs to the supply
system that are not carried out correctly or
do not take the system technical
specifications into account can cause
malfunctions leading to the risk of fire.
32)Do not switch between the two
operating modes whilst starting the engine.
WARNING
11)The system operates at temperatures
ranging between -20°C and 100°C.
12)If the fuel runs out while running on
LPG, the car switches to petrol
automatically and all the bars of the digital
indicator on the display turn off. The
display remains in this state until the next
LPG refuelling.

WARNING
33)The Fiat Panda Natural Power is
equipped with a high pressure methane
fuel supply system, designed to operate at
a rated pressure of 200 bar. It is dangerous
to stretch the system with higher
pressures. To prevent damage to the gas
system parts when towing or lifting the
vehicle, follow the instructions in the Owner
Handbook, in the paragraph: “Towing the
vehicle”. If there is a fault in the methane
system, only contact a Fiat Dealership. Do
not alter the methane system configuration
or components. They are designed
exclusively for the Fiat Panda Natural
Power. The use of other components or
materials could cause malfunctions and
prejudice safety.
34)When oven painting, the cylinders must
be removed from the vehicle and
subsequently refitted by a Fiat Dealership.
Although the methane system has
numerous safety features, it is advisable to
close the manual cocks for the cylinders
every time the vehicle is not in use for
a long period, transported on other
vehicles or moved in an emergency as a
result of a breakdown or accident.
35)Modifications or repairs to the supply
system that are not carried out correctly or
do not take the system technical
specifications into account can cause
malfunctions leading to the risk of fire.
36)Do not switch between the two
operating modes whilst starting the engine.
WARNING
21)If the fuel runs out while running on
methane, the car switches to petrol
automatically and all the bars of the digital
indicator on the display turn off. The
display remains in this state until the next
methane refuelling.
22)Regardless of the last fuel system
used, at the following engine starting, after
the initial petrol stage, the system will
automatically switch to methane.
23)When switching from petrol to methane
is requested, a metal noise from the valves
which pressurise the circuit can be heard,
as it happens while starting the car. As a
result of the switching logic described
above, a delay between the valve ticking
and the the green warning light
on
the instrument panel turning off is
completely normal.24)In particular usage conditions, such as
starting and operation at low ambient
temperature, the system may switch
temporarily to petrol operation, without
indicating the performed switching. In the
event of low methane levels in the tank or a
request for high performance (e.g.
overtaking, fully laden vehicle, steep hills)
the system may automatically switch to
petrol operation to guarantee the engine
power requested. The green warning light
on the instrument panel turns on to
indicate this. When the above conditions
are no longer present, the system
automatically restores methane operation.
The green warning light
turns off. To
achieve the automatic switching described
above, make sure that there is always
enough fuel in the petrol tank.

SIDE BAGS (Side bag -
Window bag)
To help increase occupants protection
in the event of a side impact, the
vehicle is equipped with front side bags
(for versions/markets, where provided)
and window bag (for versions/markets,
where provided).
Side bags protect occupants from
side-on crashes of medium/high
severity by placing the bag between the
occupant and the internal parts of the
side structure of the vehicle.
Non-activation of side bags in other
types of collisions (front collisions, rear
shunts, roll-overs, etc.) is not a system
malfunction.
Side bag
(for versions/markets, where provided)
These comprise two types of bags
located in the front seat backrests fig.
75 which protect the pelvic, chest
and shoulder area of the occupants in
the event of a side impact of
medium-high severity.
Window bag
This comprises two "curtain" bags
located behind the side roof cover and
covered by special trim fig. 76. They are
designed to protect the head of front
and rear passengers in the event of
side impacts. The deployment of side bags in the
event of side impacts of low severity is
not required.
In the event of a side impact, the
system provides best protection if the
passenger sits on the seat in a correct
position, thus allowing correct window
bag deployment.
The window bag is not available for the
VAN version.

112) 113) 114)
Important notes
Do not wash the seats with water or
pressurised steam (wash by hand or at
automatic seat washing stations).
The front and/or side airbags
may activate in the event of sharp
impacts to the underbody of the vehicle
(e.g. impact with steps, pavements,
potholes or road bumps etc.).
When the airbag deploys it emits a
small amount of dust: the dust is
harmless and does not indicate the
beginning of a fire. The dust may irritate
the skin and eyes however: in this
case, wash with neutral soap
and water.
Airbag checking, repair and
replacement must be carried out at a
Fiat Dealership.

SAFETY
WARNING
116)It is dangerous to run the engine in
enclosed areas. The engine takes in
oxygen and releases carbon dioxide,
carbon monoxide and other toxic gases.
117)Remember that the brake servo
and power steering are not operational until
the engine has been started, therefore
you need to apply much more force than
usual to the brake pedal and steering
wheel.
118)If the engine fails to start with a gear
engaged, the potentially dangerous
situation due to the fact that the gearbox is
automatically placed in neutral will be
signalled by an acoustic signal.
WARNING
38)If the warning lightflashes for 60
seconds after starting or during an
extended towing period, this indicates a
problem in the glow plug preheating
system. You can use the vehicle as usual if
the engine starts but you should contact
a Fiat Dealership as soon as possible.
39)It is advisable not to demand maximum
performance from your vehicle (e.g.
excessive acceleration, long distances at
maximum rpm, excessively intense braking,
etc.) when it is first used.
40)When the engine is off, do not leave
the key turned to MAR to prevent
unnecessary electrical consumption from
draining the battery.41)Never bump start the engine by
pushing, towing or coasting downhill. This
could cause fuel to flow into the catalytic
converter and damage it beyond repair.
42)There must therefore always be some
petrol in the tank to protect the petrol
pump and to guarantee temporary
switching from LPG or Methane to petrol
operation, if high performance is required.
43)A quick burst on the accelerator
before stopping the engine serves no
practical purpose; it wastes fuel and is
especially damaging to turbocharged
engines.
PARKING THE
VEHICLE
When parking and leaving the car,
proceed as follows:
engage a gear (1st gear if facing
uphill or reverse if facing downhill) and
leave the wheels turned;
stop the engine and engage the
handbrake;
always remove the ignition key.
Block the wheels with a wedge or a
stone if the car is parked on a steep
slope.
On versions equipped with Dualogic
transmission, wait for the letter P to be
displayed before releasing the brake
pedal.
WARNING Never leave the car with the
gearbox in neutral (or, on versions
equipped with Dualogic transmission,
before putting the gear lever in the
P position).
Handbrake
194) 195) 196)
The handbrake lever is located between
the two front seats.
Handbrake engagement: pull lever A
fig. 77 upwards until the vehicle is
braked.
93

Natural Power versions
49)To access filler B fig. 90, open the flap
and undo cap A turning it
counterclockwise.
The profile of filler B for refilling is the
universal type, compatible with Italian
and NGV1 standards. In some
European countries adapters are
considered ILLEGAL (e.g. in Germany).
WARNING
128)Do not apply any object/plug to the
end of the filler which is not provided for
the car. The use of non-compliant
objects/caps could cause a pressure
increase inside the tank, resulting in
dangerous situations.
129)Do not bring naked flames or lit
cigarettes near to the fuel filler: fire risk.
Keep your face away from the fuel filler to
prevent breathing in harmful vapours.130)Do not use a mobile phone near the
refuelling pump: risk of fire.
WARNING
48)For diesel engines, only use diesel fuel
for motor vehicles in accordance with
EN 590 European specifications. The use
of other products or mixtures may damage
the engine beyond repair and
consequently invalidate the warranty, due
to the damage caused. If you accidentally
introduce other types of fuel into the tank,
do not start the engine. Empty the tank.
If the engine has been run for even an
extremely limited amount of time, you must
not only drain the fuel tank, but the rest of
the supply circuit as well.
49)The other plates (provided with the
vehicle documents) show the date when
the first cylinder inspection/test is due.
Methane refuelling stations are not
authorised to refill the cylinders when the
inspection date has expired.
TOWING TRAILERS
131) 132)
IMPORTANT
For towing motorhomes or trailers the
vehicle must be fitted with an approved
tow hook and an adequate electrical
system. Installation must be carried out
by a specialist.
Install any specific and/or additional
door mirrors as specified by the
Highway Code.
Remember that when towing a trailer,
steep hills are harder to climb, braking
distances increase and overtaking
takes longer depending on the overall
weight of the trailer.
Engage a low gear when driving
downhill, rather than constantly using
the brake.
The weight the trailer exerts on the
vehicle tow hook reduces the vehicle's
loading capacity by the same amount.
To make sure that the maximum
towable weight is not exceeded (given
in the vehicle registration document)
account should be taken of the fully
laden trailer, including accessories and
luggage.
Do not exceed the speed limits specific
to each country you are driving in, in
the case of vehicles towing trailers.
In any case, the top speed must not
exceed 100 km/h.

NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS
To replace the bulbs proceed as
follows:
remove lens A fig. 106;
replace the bulb A fig. 107, releasing
it from the side contacts;
Insert the new bulb and make sure
that it is correctly clamped between the
contacts, then refit the lens A fig. 107.
WARNING
133)Modifications or repairs to the electric
system that are not carried out properly
or do not take the system technical
specifications into account can cause
malfunctions leading to the risk of fire.
134)Halogen bulbs contain pressurised
gas; in the case of breakage they may
burst.
135)Before replacing the bulb, wait for the
catalytic converter to cool down: RISK
OF BURNS.
WARNING
50)Halogen bulbs must be handled by
holding the metallic part only. Touching the
transparent part of the bulb with your
fingers may reduce the intensity of the
emitted light and even reduce the lifespan
of the bulb. In the event of accidental
contact, wipe the bulb with a cloth
moistened with alcohol and let the bulb
dry.
51)If possible, we recommend to have
bulbs replaced by a Fiat Dealership. The
correct operation and alignment of the
external lights are absolutely essential for
the safety of the vehicle and of compliance
with the law.

or anything else.
138)Never replace a fuse with another
with a higher amp rating; DANGER OF
FIRE.
139)If a general fuse (MEGA-FUSE,
MIDI-FUSE, MAXI-FUSE) blows contact a
Fiat Dealership.
140)Before replacing a fuse, make sure
that the ignition key has been removed and
that all the other services are switched off
and/or disengaged.
141)Contact Fiat Dealership if a safety
system (airbags, brakes), engine system
(engine, gearbox) or steering system
general protection fuse blows.
WARNING
52)If you need to wash the engine
compartment, take care not to directly hit
the fuse box and the window wiper motors
with the water jet.

JACK
Important notes:
the jack weight is 1.76 kg;
the jack requires no adjustment;
the jack cannot be repaired and in
the event of a fault it must be replaced
by another original one;
no tool other than its cranking
device may be fitted on the jack.
Jack maintenance
prevent any dirt from depositing on
the "worm screw";
keep the "worm screw" lubricated;
never modify the jack.
Conditions in which not to use the
jack
temperature below -40°C
on sandy or muddy ground
on uneven ground
on steep roads
in extreme weather conditions:
thunderstorms, typhoons, hurricanes,
blizzards, storms, etc.
in direct contact with the engine or
to carry out repairs under the vehicle
on boats.CHANGING PROCEDURE
Proceed as follows:
stop the car in a position that is not
dangerous for oncoming traffic where
you can change the wheel safely. The
ground must be flat and sufficiently
compact;
switch off the engine, pull up the
handbrake and engage the 1stgear or
reverse. Wear the reflective safety
jacket (compulsory by law) before
getting out of the vehicle;

115
144)The vehicle's driving characteristics
will be modified with the space-saver wheel
fitted. Avoid violent acceleration and
braking, abrupt steering and fast cornering.
The overall duration of the space-saver
wheel is about 3000 km, after which the
relevant tyre must be replaced with another
one of the same type. Never install a
traditional tyre on a rim designed to be
used as a space-saver wheel. Have the
wheel repaired and refitted as soon as
possible. Using two or more space-saver
wheels at the same time is forbidden.
Do not apply grease to the bolt threads
before fitting: they could come unscrewed.
145)The jack is a tool developed and
designed only for changing a wheel, if a
tyre gets punctured or damaged, on the
vehicle with which it is supplied or on other
vehicles of the same model. Any other
use, e.g. to jack up other vehicle models or
different things, is strictly prohibited. Never
use for maintenance or repair activities
under the car or to exchange the
summer/winter wheels and vice versa.
Never go under the raised vehicle. If any
work under the vehicle is necessary,
contact the Fiat Service Network. Incorrect
positioning of the jack may cause the
raised vehicle to fall: use only in the
positions indicated. Do not use the jack for
loads higher than the one shown on its
label. Never start the engine with vehicle
raised. If the vehicle is raised more than
necessary, everything can become more
unstable, with the risk of the vehicle
dropping violently. Thus, lift the vehicle only
as needed in order to access the spare
wheel.146)If the hub cap is not fitted correctly, it
may come off when the car is travelling.
Never tamper with the inflation valve. Never
introduce tools of any kind between rim
and tyre. Check tyre and space-saver
wheel pressures regularly, complying with
the values given in the "Technical
specifications" chapter.
WARNING
53)When turning the jack handle make
sure that it can turn freely without scraping
your hand against the ground. The moving
components of the jack ("worm screw"
and joints) can also cause injuries: avoid
touching them. If you come into contact
with lubricating grease, clean yourself
thoroughly.
54)Contact a Fiat Dealership as soon as
possible to have the correct tightening
of the wheel bolts checked.
“Fix&Go Airflat” kit
The kit is located in the luggage
compartment under the load platform
cover.
The kit is composed of:
a spray bottle A fig. 115 with the
sealant, equipped with filling pipe B,
separated by the compressor C;

TYRE REPAIRING AND
PRESSURE RESTORING
PROCEDURE
55) 56)
147)
Proceed as follows:
Position the vehicle in a safe and
suitable area and engage the
handbrake. Take the kit. Open the
cover D (fig. 116) of the compressor B
and insert the sealant cartridge A in
its compartment, pressing firmly
downwards. Remove the adhesive
speed label and apply it in a visible
position. Wear the protective gloves
provided. Remove the valve cap E from
the punctured tyre and connect and
firmly tighten the transparent sealing
fluid tube C.
Ensure that the on-off button A (fig.
117) is in the off0position. Insert the
electrical connector D fig. 115 in the
car’s 12V socket.
Move the on-off button A fig. 117 to
the onIposition to switch on the
compressor. When the pressure gauge
F fig. 116 indicates the right pressure
for the car, switch off the compressor
by moving the on-off button A to the
0position. If the pressure gauge F
indicates a pressure lower than 1.8 bar
/ 26 psi 5 minutes after starting the
compressor, switch off the compressor,
disconnect the sealing fluid tube C
(fig. 116) from the tyre valve, retighten
the valve cap and move the car about
10 metres to distribute the sealing
fluid in the tyre. Stop the car safely and
repeat the operation above until the
required pressure is reached. If after
other 5 min. from the compressor
ignition, the pressure gauge F
still indicates a pressure lower than 1.8
bar / 26 psi, the TYRE IS TOO
DAMAGED AND CANNOT BE
REPAIRED. Disconnect, put the kit
back in its compartment and call
roadside assistance.
