ABS SYSTEM
FAILURE (amber)
When the key is turned to MAR, the
warning light switches on but should
switch off after a few seconds.
The warning light will switch on
when the system is either not
working or not available. In this case
the braking system maintains its own
efficiency unaltered, but without the
advantage of the ABS system.
Drive carefully and contact a Fiat
Dealership as soon as possible.
On some versions, the display shows
a dedicated message. BATTERY CHARGE
LOW (red)
The warning light switches
on when the ignition key is turned
to MAR, but it should switch off as
soon as the engine has started (with
the engine idling a brief delay before
switching off is acceptable).
If the warning light stays on, contact
a Fiat Dealership immediately.
On some versions, the display shows
a dedicated message.

EBD FAILURE
(red - amber)
(for versions/
markets, where
provided)
If the
xand >warning lights
switch on simultaneously with the
engine running, this indicates that
there is a fault in the EBD system or
that the system in unavailable.
In this case, the rear wheels may
suddenly lock and the vehicle may
swerve when braking sharply. Drive
very carefully to a Fiat Dealership to
have the system inspected
immediately.
On some versions, the display shows
a dedicated message.

EXTERIOR LIGHTS
FAULT (amber)
(for versions/markets,
where provided)
The warning light will switch on, on
some versions, when a fault with
one of the following lights is
detected:
– side lights
– brake lights
– rear fog lights
– direction indicators
– number plate lights.
The fault relating to these lights
could be: one or more blown bulbs,
a blown protection fuse or a break
in the electrical connection.
On some versions, the display shows
a dedicated message.The presence of water in
the fuel supply circuit
may cause severe
damage to the injection system
and irregular engine operation.
If the
cwarning light switches
on (on some versions together
with the message on the
display), contact a Fiat
Dealership as soon as possible
to have the system bled. If this
problem is indicated
immediately after refueling,
water may have entered the fuel
tank. In this case, stop the
engine immediately and contact
a Fiat Dealership.

WATER IN DIESEL
FILTER (amber)
When the key is turned to MAR, the
warning light switches on but should
switch off after a few seconds.
The cwarning light switches on
when there is water in the diesel
filter.
On some versions, the display shows
a dedicated message.

E-LOCKER SYSTEM

The warning light switches on (on
some versions together with a
dedicated message on the display) as
follows:
– flashing when the system is
activated;
– flashing more rapidly to indicate
that the speed of the vehicle is
approaching 20 km/h;
– constantly if there is a fault with

intermittent)
The warning light switches on when
the direction indicator control stalk
is moved upwards or, together with
the left indicator, when the hazard
warning light button is pressed.

MAIN BEAM

The warning light switches on when
the main beams headlights are

IMPORTANT With the air
distribution knob at -air also
comes out of the central and side
diffusers. To optimise demisting
/defrosting (also on side windows)
stop the air flow at the central
diffusers (specific control knob
turned down to
Op) and open the
side diffusers (specific control knob
turned up to
¥).
After demisting, operate the
controls to maintain optimum
visibility conditions.
EXTERIOR LIGHTS
The left stalk operates most of the
external lights.
The ignition key has to be at MAR
for the exterior lights to switch on.
The instrument panel and the
various dashboard controls will
switch on with the external lights.

DIRECTION

Up = right indicator.
Down = left indicator.
The
¥or Îwarning light flashes on
the instrument panel.
The direction indicators are
switched off automatically when the
steering wheel is straightened.
If you want the indicator to flash
briefly to show that you are about
to change lane, turning the wheel
only slightly, move the stalk up or
down without clicking into position
(unstable position).
When released the stalk will return
to its initial position.“FOLLOW ME
HOME” DEVICE fig. 62
This device lights up the space in
front of the vehicle for a short time.
Activation
With ignition key at STOP or
removed, pull the stalk towards the
steering wheel and move it within
2 minutes after the engine stops.
Each time the stalk is moved, the
lights stay on for a further 30
seconds up to a maximum of 210
seconds; then the lights are switched
off automatically.
The display shows the time set.Deactivation
Pull the lever towards the steering
wheel for more than 2 seconds or
turn the key to MAR in the ignition
switch.

Do not use the
windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow
or ice from the windscreen. In
these conditions, the windscreen
wipers may be submitted to
excessive effort resulting in the
motor protection cutting in and
wiper operation being inhibited
for a few seconds. If operation is
not subsequently restored,
contact a Fiat Dealership.

HAZARD WARNING

They are turned on by pressing
switch A, regardless of the position
of the ignition key.
With the device activated, the
switch flashes and the warning
lights flash on the instrument panel
at the same time.
To switch off, press the switch again.The use of hazard
warning lights is
governed by the highway code
of the country you are in.
Drivers must therefore comply
with the regulations that the
code contains.

Rear fog lights
Switch A: to activate these lights, the
dipped headlights and/or front fog
lights must be switched on. The rear
fog lights are deactivated when the
ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.
Fog lights
Switch B: to activate these lights, the
external lights must be switched on
(not the main beam headlights). The
front fog lights are deactivated when
the ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.Driving lights
Switch C. To activate these lights,
the mean beam headlights must be
switched on. The driving lights are
deactivated when the ignition key is
turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.

FRONT ROOF LIGHTS

The roof light is switched on using
the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;
pressed to 2: always onWith switches

The roof light switches on in 2
different situations according to the
position of switch A:
1: always on (ON) even with doors
closed;
2: switches on when a door is
opened;
3: always off (OFF).
Spot light
Switch B controls the spot light,
depending on the position:
1: spot light on (ON);
2: spot light off (OFF).Roof light timing
On some versions, to facilitate
getting into/out of the vehicle,
especially at night or with poor
lighting, 2 different timing modes are
available.
Entrance timing
The roof lights switch on as follows:
– for a period of 15 seconds when
the front doors are unlocked;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;

– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed
(within 3 minutes).
The timed period is interrupted if
the ignition is turned to MAR.
Exit timing
After removing the key from the
ignition switch, the roof lights switch
on as follows:
– for a period of 3 minutes within 2
minutes of the engine stopping;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;
– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed (within
3 minutes).
Timing will stop automatically when
the doors are locked.REAR ROOF LIGHT fig. 71

The rear roof light is switched on
using the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;
pressed to 2: always on.POWER SOCKET fig.72
This is present only on certain
versions and operates when the
ignition key is turned to MAR.
To use, lift cap A.
It can be used with devices /
accessories with a maximum power
of 180 W.
Before connecting any
electrical accessories,
contact a Fiat Dealership to
check whether this is possible.

If you wish to carry a
reserve of fuel in a can,
observe the legal restrictions
and only use a can that is type-
approved and properly secured
to the load anchorage
eyebolts. However, the risk of
fire in the event of a collision is
still increased.
WARNINGIMPORTANT
1) The flap can bear stable loads
(vehicle stationary) of up to 300
kg; using it to support greater
loads damages the hinges.
2) The load must be secured firmly
using cords and the appropriate
rings, to prevent it from sliding
lengthways, moving from side to
side or bouncing (see paragraph
“Loading advice” in the “Correct
use of the vehicle” section).
3) When transporting a heavy load
at night, you are advised to check
and adjust the beam of the dipped
headlights as appropriate.
Do not open the flap
completely when a tow
hook is fitted; it may be
damaged.
LOAD COMPARTMENT
COVER CANVAS
Some versions come with a canvas
to protect objects which are
transported in the load
compartment.
To wind it up:
– turn the mechanical stop
A-fig. 84 in the direction of the
arrow, releasing locking device B;
– open the closing devices
A-fig. 85 then loosen the straps B;
– release the straps from the
anchoring devices
(3 per side) built into the body;
