We have written this handbook to help you get to know all the features of your vehicle and use it in the best
possible way.
You are advised to read it right through before taking to the road for the first time. You will find information, advice
and important warnings regarding the use of your vehicle to help you get the most from the technological features of
your Fiat Strada.
Read the warnings and indications marked with the following symbols carefully:
personal safety;

The enclosed Warranty Booklet lists the services that Fiat offers to its Customers:

This Owner Handbook describes all Fiat Strada versions. As a consequence, you should
only consider the information which is related to the trim level, engine and
version that you have purchased.

REFUELLING
Refuel the vehicle exclusively with diesel for motor
vehicles in compliance with European specification
EN590.
The use of other products or mixtures may damage
the engine beyond repair and consequently
invalidate the warranty, due to the damage caused.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Make sure that the handbrake is engaged, set the
gear lever to neutral, fully depress the clutch
without pressing the accelerator, then turn the
ignition key to MAR and wait for the
mand Uwarning lights to switch off; turn the ignition key
to AVV and release it as soon as the engine has
started.
PARKING ON FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
The catalytic converter reaches high
temperatures during operation. Do not park on
grass, dry leaves, pine needles or other
flammable material: fire hazard.
RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
The vehicle is fitted with a system that allows
continuous diagnosis of the emission-related
components in order to help protect the
environment.ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES
If, after buying the vehicle, you wish to add
electrical accessories (with the risk of gradually
draining the battery), contact a Fiat Dealership.
They will calculate the overall electrical
requirement and check that the vehicle’s
electrical system can support the required load.
CODE card
Keep it in a safe place, not in the vehicle.
You are advised to keep the electronic code on
the CODE card with you at all times

SCHEDULED SERVICING
Correct maintenance enables the vehicle to
perfectly maintain performance and safety
characteristics, its environmentalfriendliness and
its low running costs over time.

Special coloured plates have been
attached near or on some of the
components of your Fiat Strada.
These plates bear symbols that draw
your attention to the precautions
required when handling the

The vehicle comes with a key A
(with remote control) or two keys B
(without remote control), according
to the version.
The keys can be used for:
– starting
– the doors
– fuel cap
– passenger airbag deactivation
– remote opening/closing
(key with remote control).

THE FIAT CODE SYSTEM
To increase protection against theft,
the vehicle is equipped with an
electronic immobiliser system
(Fiat CODE) which is activated
automatically when the ignition key
is removed. Each key grip contains
an electronic device which
modulates the radio-frequency signal
emitted during ignition by an aerial
built into the ignition switch. The
modulated signal is the “password”,
by means of which the control unit
recognises the key and, only in this
circumstance, enables the engine to
be started.

provided, the CODE card fig. 2 is
supplied together with the keys and
bears:
A – the electronic code
B – the mechanical key code to be
given to the Fiat Dealership
when ordering duplicate keys.

Button D should only
be pressed when the
key is away from the body, in
particular from the eyes and
from objects that can be spoilt
(e.g. clothes). Do not leave the
key unattended to avoid the
button being accidentally
pressed while it is being
handled, e.g. by a child.
WARNING
To put metal insert A back in the
grip, press device D, put back the
metal insert then release device D. Key with remote control fig. 3
A – retractable metal insert
B – door release button
C – door lock button (the roof light
switches off at the same time)
D – metal insert opening device.
The metal insert A operates:
– the ignition switch
– door opening/closing.
