The instrument panel (dashboard) on your
vehicle is divided into several different sections.
The illustrations on the following pages show
the major parts of the instrument panel that are
described in this chapter. Some items shown
may not be on all vehicles.

In your vehicle, the warning lights and gauges
are grouped together on the instrument panel.
We call this grouping a cluster. Your vehicle has
a mechanical cluster.

RWARNING
Do not place objects or mount equipment
on or near the steering wheel or in front
of the passenger dashboard area that may
come into contact with an inflating air
bag. Failure to follow these instructions
may increase the risk of personal injury in
the event of a collision.

RWARNING
Do not attempt to service, repair, or
modify the air bag Supplemental Restraint
System or its fuses. See your Ford or
Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

RWARNING
If you are close to an inflating air bag, it
could seriously injure you. Sit against the
seatback and position your seat such that
it is as far back from the steering wheel
as possible but still allows you to
properly control the vehicle.
