essential information
fuel PumP shut-off switch – this device stops the electric fuel pump from sending fuel to
the engine when your vehicle has had a substantial jolt. after an accident, if you find that the
engine cranks, but does not start, this switch may have been activated. \
the fuel pump shut-off
switch is located in the front passenger’s footwell, behind a flip-up\
cover, by the kick panel
access cover.
location of sPare tire – Your vehicle is equipped with a temporary spare tire located under
the vehicle, just forward of the rear bumper. the temporary spare tire is designed for emergency
use only and should be replaced as soon as possible. the jack and tools are located under the
carpeted floor panel in the rear cargo area. for complete details on how to change your tire,
refer to the roadside emergencies chapter in your owner’s Guide.
tire Pressure – Your tire pressure is properly set at the dealership according to the r\
ecommended
specifications found on the safety compliance certification label or tire label located on the
B-Pillar or the edge of the driver’s door. check your tire pressure at least once a month and before
long trips (including spare). as an added safety feature, your vehicle has been equipped with a
tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that illuminates a low tire pressure warning light
in
the message center when one or more of your tires is significantly under-inflated. improperly
inflated tires can affect vehicle handling and can fail suddenly, possibly resulting in loss of vehicle
control. refer to the tires, wheels and loading chapter in your owner’s Guide for more details
and safety information.
easY fuel® fuel sYstem – Your vehicle has a fuel system which allows you to simply open
the fuel filler door, insert the nozzle and start fueling. wait about five seconds before pulling
out the nozzle in order to allow any residual fuel to drain into the tan\
k. the easy fuel
® system
is self-sealing and therefore protected against dust, dirt, water, snow \
and ice. if you need to
fill your fuel tank with a portable fuel container, use the fuel funnel \
which is located inside
the rear passenger side cargo compartment access door. slowly insert the funnel into the easy
fuel
® system and fill the tank with fuel from the container. when done, clean the funnel or
properly dispose of it. extra funnels can be purchased from your authorized dealer. Do not use
aftermarket funnels as they will not work with the easy fuel
® system and may cause damage.
fuel tank caPacitY/fuel info – Your vehicle has a fuel tank capacity of 17.5 gallons (66.2l). if
you have a V6 engine, you have a flex fuel vehicle. flex fuel vehicles have a yellow ring around
the top of the fuel filler inlet (tube) and can use either regular unleaded fuel, e85 ethanol
fuel or any mixture of the two. if you do not have a flex fuel vehicle, then only use “regular”
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87. Do not use e85 fuels because your vehicle was
not designed to run on fuels with more than 10% ethanol.
sos Post-crash alert sYstem™ – this system provides audible and visual alarms in the
event of a crash which causes the deployment of airbags or the activatio\
n of the safety belt
pretensioners. the turn signals will flash and the horn will sound. to deactivate the system,
press the hazard flasher control

equipped with an interior rear view mirror which has an auto-dimming fea\
ture. when the
mirror detects bright lights behind the vehicle, it automatically darken\

minimize glare. the mirror will automatically return to its normal state when the vehicle\
is
in r (reverse) to ensure that you have a clear view while backing up.

• To unlock the driver’s door, enter your five digit factory code.
• to unlock all doors and liftgate, enter your five digit factory code and,\
within five seconds, press 3-4.
• to open the liftgate glass, enter your five digit factory code and, withi\
n five seconds, press 5-6.
• To lock all vehicle doors and liftgate, press 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time (you do not need to
enter your factory code first).
moonroof – (if equipped) the moonroof is equipped with an automatic, one-touch, opening,
closing and venting feature. to open, press and release the rear portion of the control located
in the overhead console. to stop motion at any time during the one-touch opening, press the
control a second time. to close, press and release the front portion of the control until the gl\
ass
stops moving. to open the moonroof to the vent position, press the front portion of the\
control.
to close, press and hold the rear portion of the control until the glass \
stops moving.
amBient liGhtinG – (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with an ambient lighting
feature which, when activated, illuminates the footwells, cup holders an\
d console bin with
a choice of several colors. ambient lighting is operational when the ignition is on or in the
accessory position. Press
on the center console repeatedly to turn on, cycle through your
color choices, and turn off.

among others. Jukebox allows you to save
your favorite music to the system’s hard
drive for later access. You can then choose
to play specific artists, genres, tracks or
albums. You can even choose to create your
own playlists.
c. sounD – Press to access the sound menu
and make adjustments to Bass, treble,
Balance, fade, scV (speed compensated
volume), DsP and the visualizer.

(emergency listings such as Police and hospitals
or previously set favorite destinations),
standard destinations (address book, street
address, Previous destinations, etc.) or edit
route (allows you to make any adjustments to
the currently selected navigation route with
options such as cancel route, Detour, View
route, etc.).

order to
promote good driving habits. when mykey® is programmed:
• Belt-Minder® cannot be disabled and will sound continuously and the audio will be mu\

until the safety belt is buckled.

• Certain features cannot be turned off such as the reverse sensing system.

BlinD sPot mirrors – Your outside mirrors have an integrated convex mirror in the upper
corner. this increases visibility alongside the vehicle; thereby helping you see \
a vehicle which
may be in your blind spot. as the vehicle approaches, its image will transition from the
main mirror to the blind spot mirror in the upper corner. refer to your owner’s Guide for
more information.
rearView camera – (if equipped) this system provides a visual display of the area behind the
vehicle. the display automatically appears in the rearview mirror or on the naviga\
tion screen
(if equipped) when the vehicle is in reverse (r) and uses colors (green, yellow and red) to alert
you of your proximity to objects. Note: Visibility aids do not replace the need to watch where
the vehicle is moving. refer to your owner’s Guide for safety information, more detail
and limitations.
uniVersal GaraGe Door oPener – (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with the
car2u
® system located in the driver’s visor. the car2u® home automation system is a universal
transmitter that provides a way of opening your garage door and also for\
remotely activating
some devices within your home. the system works by learning the frequency codes that operate
garage doors and certain devices within the home. for more information, refer to the Driver

1. heaDlamP controls –
: turns the headlamps off.
: turns on parking, instrument panel, license plate and tail lamps.
: turns on low beam headlamps.
: autolamps (if equipped) automatically turns the exterior lamps on/off based on
available daylight.
: turns on fog lamps (if equipped) by pulling the control towards you.
2. multi-function leVer – rotate the end of the control up/down to increase/decrease the
speed of the wipers.
Push the end of the stalk:
• quickly for a single swipe without fluid.
• and hold briefly for three swipes with washer fluid.
• and hold for a longer wash cycle. To operate your rear window wiper, turn the rear wiper control to 1 (intermittent speed),
2 (normal speed) or o (off). for a rear wash cycle, rotate and hold the rear wiper control to
either

position.
Note: for optimal wiper performance, clean your blades and glass regularly. refer to your
owner’s Guide for more information.
3. Panel Dimmer control – rotate the control up or down to adjust the brightness of the
instrument panel when the headlamps and parking lamps are on. rotate to the full upright
position, past the detent to turn on the interior lights. rotate down past the detent to keep
the interior lights from illuminating when the doors are opened.
4. steerinG wheel controls – to set the speed:
1. Press on.
2. accelerate to the desired speed.
3. Press set + and take your foot off the accelerator.
instrument Panel• To set a higher speed, press and hold SET + or press SET + repeatedly until the desired
speed is reached.
• To set a lower speed, press and hold SET – or press SET – repeatedly until the desired speed
is reached.
• To return to a previously set speed, press RES.
• To turn off, press OFF or turn off the ignition.
VoL +/- : Press to increase/decrease volume levels.
: Press to access the previous/next radio station preset, cD track or preset satellite radio channel.
MEDIa: Press repeatedly to access all possible media sources.
: Press to access voice recognition, if equipped.
: Press to access sYnc® phone features, if equipped.
5. serVice enGine soon liGht –
the service engine soon light illuminates briefly when
the ignition is turned on. if it remains on or is blinking after the engine is started, the on-board\

diagnostics system (oBD-ii) has detected a malfunction. Drive in a moderate fashion and contact
your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
6. messaGe center – (if equipped) the message center displays important information through
a constant monitoring of vehicle systems. the system will also notify you of potential vehicle
problems with a display of system warnings followed by a long indicator \
chime. for more
information, please refer to your owner’s Guide.
7. hazarD flasher
8. aBs warninG liGht – the aBs light
illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on.
if the aBs light remains on or continues to flash, a malfunction has been detected\
. contact your
authorized dealer as soon as possible. normal braking (less aBs) is still functional unless the
brake warning light
is also illuminated.
9. aDVancetrac
® with roll staBilitY control™ (rsc®) staBilitY enhancement sYstem –
advancetrac® helps you maintain stability and steerability of your vehicle during a \
variety of
road conditions. if your vehicle becomes stuck in the snow, mud or sand, try turning off t\
he
advancetrac
® system (by pushing the tcs off button) to allow wheel spin and help increase
momentum to dig the vehicle out. the system defaults to on and the control will illuminate
when turned off. refer to your owner’s Guide for safety information and more details.
10. PassenGer airBaG off – the passenger airbag off indicator light will illuminate when
the passenger’s front airbag is off. Please see your owner’s Guide for safety information and
more details.
11. actiVe Park assist – (if equipped) the active park assist system can detect an available
parallel parking space and automatically steer the vehicle into that spa\
ce. the system instructs
the driver with visual and/or audible instructions with regard to brakin\
g, accelerating and
shifting gears in order to safely park the vehicle. to initiate active park assist, press the auto
P control and follow the system instructions as prompted by the message \
center. to stop
the parking procedure, grab the steering wheel or press the control agai\

12. usB Port – (if equipped) the usB port allows you to plug in media playing devices, memory
sticks, and also to charge devices if they support this feature. for more information, please refer

auxiliarY inPut Jack – the auxiliary input jack provides a way to connect your portable
music player to the in-vehicle audio system. this allows the audio from a portable music
player to be played through the vehicle speakers. for more information, please see your
owner’s Guide.
reVerse sensinG – (if equipped) the reverse sensing system may warn you if there is an object
behind the vehicle. the system will sound a warning tone that increases in frequency as the
object gets closer and will sound continuously when the object is less t\
han 10 inches away. the
system is active when the vehicle is in r (reverse) and traveling less than 3 mph (5 km/h). Note:
Visibility aids do not replace the need to watch where the vehicle is mo\
ving. refer to your
owner’s Guide for safety information, more details and limitations.
oVerDriVe control/cancel with GraDe assist – (if equipped) Drive with the vehicle in
D (Drive) with overdrive for the best fuel economy. You can deactivate\
overdrive by pressing
the transmission control switch on the side of the shift handle. Your ve\
hicle is equipped with a
special grade assist feature which is automatically activated when overd\
rive is turned off. Grade
assist helps to provide optimal gear selection and additional engine bra\
king on hilly terrain. it
is recommended that you return to D (overdrive) once you return to flat terrain. to return to
overdrive, simply press the transmission control switch again.
Power siDe View mirrors – rotate the control clockwise to adjust the right mirror, and
counterclockwise to adjust the left mirror. then move the control in the direction you wish to
tilt the mirror. return to the center position to lock the mirror in place.
four-wheel DriVe (4wD) sYstem – (if equipped) Your vehicle may be equipped with an
intelligent 4wD system that continuously monitors vehicle conditions and automatically\
adjusts
the power distribution between the front and rear wheels. the 4wD system is always active,
requires no input and is capable of handling many road conditions, including street and highway
driving as well as off-road and winter driving. in-Dash cD/mP3 raDio

k. sounD – Press repeatedly to access settings
for: Bass, treble, fade, Balance, speed
compensated volume (if equipped)
and all
seats (occupancy mode, if equipped). when
the desired selection appears in the display,
press it seek/track ui to make adjustments.
l. clock – Press to set the time. the
display will read set time. use the memory
presets (0-9) to enter in the desired time,
hours and minutes and press ok. the clock
will then start from that time.
m. tune/ok – in radio mode, turn to go
up/down the frequency band in individual
increments. if your vehicle is equipped with
sYnc
® and/or satellite radio, you may need to
press ok to confirm menu selections.
n. eJect – Press to eject a cD from the system.
hD raDio – (if equipped with navigation) is
the digital evolution of analog radio. Your
system has a special receiver which allows it
to receive digital broadcasts (where available)
in addition to the other broadcasts it already
receives. Digital broadcasts provide a better
sound quality than analog broadcasts with free,
crystal clear audio and no static or distortion.

Dual automatic temPerature control
with heateD seats (if eQuiPPeD)
a. auto/DriVer temPerature – Press to
activate/deactivate full automatic operation.
the system will automatically determine fan
speed, airflow distribution, a/c on or off and
either outside or recirculated air to heat or
cool the vehicle to reach the desired temperature.
turn to increase/decrease the temperature
on the driver side of the vehicle. Note: this
control will also determine the temperature
for the entire vehicle cabin when the
passenger temperature control (Pass temP)
is not engaged.
B. floor anD Defrost
– Distributes
air through the windshield defroster vents,
demister vents, floor vents and rear seat
floor vents.
c. Defrost – Distributes outside air
through the windshield defroster vents and
demister vents. can be used to clear the
windshield of fog and thin ice.
D. DriVer heateD seat
– Press to activate
or deactivate the driver heated seat.
e. rear Defroster
– Press to clear the
rear window of thin ice and fog. Press again
to deactivate. the rear window defroster will
turn off automatically after a predetermined
amount of time, if a low battery condition is
detected, or when the ignition is turned off
or to the accessory position.
f. a/c – Press to activate/deactivate air
conditioning. use with recirculated air
to
improve cooling performance and efficiency. G. max a/c – Press to distribute recirculated
air through the instrument panel vents to cool
the vehicle. this mode is more economical
and efficient. Press again to return to normal
a/c operation.
h. recirculateD air
– Press to
activate/deactivate air circulation inside the
vehicle cabin. recirculated air may reduce
the amount of time needed to cool down
the vehicle and may also help reduce
undesirable odors from entering the vehicle.
recirculated air engages automatically when
max a/c is selected.
i. Power
anD fan – Press to turn
the system on/off. turn the control to
increase/decrease the fan speed.
J. Panel , Panel anD floor ,
floor – Press the desired control for
airflow to be directed through the
(instrument panel vents), (instrument
panel vents, demister vents, floor vents and
rear seat floor vents) or the
(demister
vents, floor vents and rear seat floor vents).
k. PassenGer heateD seat – Press to
activate or deactivate the passenger
heated seat.
l. Pass temP – Press to activate passenger
side temperature control. turn the control
to decrease/increase the temperature setting
for the passenger side of the vehicle. Press
again to deactivate (the driver side settings
will then determine the temperature for the
entire vehicle cabin).
