The use of correct oil viscosities for diesel
engines is important for satisfactory
operation. Determine which oil viscosity
best suits the temperature range you
expect to encounter for the next service
interval from the following SAE viscosity
grade chart.
Note:
For severe duty service, use SAE
5W-40 API CK-4. Note:
For bio-diesel fuel blends (B20 max),
use SAE 5W-40 API CK-4.
Note: An engine block heater is
recommended at temperatures below -9°F
(-23°C).
Note: Do not use supplemental engine oil
additives because they are unnecessary and
could lead to engine damage that your
vehicle warranty does not cover.
