4.Pull the yellow handle stop backwardout of the tailgate until it fully extends.
5.To lock the handle in place, rotate thehandle up from the horizontal to thevertical position until you hear a click.
Note:Do not tow with the step or grabhandle.
Replace the slip resistance tape or grabhandle molding if it appears as worn ordamaged.
To reduce the risk of falling:
•Only operate the step when yourvehicle is on a level surface.
•Only operate the step in areas withsufficient lighting.
•Make sure you use the grab handlewhen climbing on the step.
•Do not use the step with bare feet.
•Make sure the step is clean before use.
•Keep the step load below the totalmaximum load of 350 lb (159 kg).
STOWING THE TAILGATE STEP
1.Press the yellow button on the handleto lower and then press the yellowlever at the bottom of the handle tounlock. Rotate the handle down fromthe vertical to the horizontal positionand push it into the tailgate.
2.Rotate the step up until it is horizontal,then push it back into the tailgate untilthe step is secure.
Note:Make sure to close and fully latch thestep before moving your vehicle. Do notdrive with the step or grab handle open.
Note:The power tailgate cannot close ifthe step is open. A warning messageappears and a tone sounds. After stowingthe step the power close function isrestored.
BED EXTENDER (IF EQUIPPED)
BED EXTENDER PRECAUTIONS
Note:Do not use the bed extender whendriving off road.
Note:Make sure to engage the locking pinsand knobs fully before driving your vehicle.
Note:Make sure to secure all cargo.
Note:Do not exceed 150 lb (68 kg) on thetailgate when your vehicle is moving.
Note:Do not keep the bed extender in thetailgate mode when you are not using it forrestraining cargo. Always keep the bedextender in the grocery mode or the stowedposition with the tailgate closed.

POWER RUNNING BOARD
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: In extreme climates,excessive ice buildup may occur, causingthe running boards not to deploy. Makesure that the running boards havedeployed, and have finished movingbefore attempting to step on them. Therunning boards will resume normalfunction once the blockage is cleared.
WARNING: Switch off the runningboards before jacking or placing anyobject under your vehicle. Never placeyour hand between the extended runningboard and your vehicle. A moving runningboard may cause injury.
Do not use the running boards, front andrear hinge assemblies, running boardmotors, or the running board underbodymounts to lift your vehicle when jacking.Use proper jacking points.
The running boards could move slower incold temperatures.
POWER RUNNING BOARD
SETTINGS
1.Press Features on the touchscreen.
2.Press Power Running Board.
3.Press SETTINGS.
Power Boards Modes
Note:When the vehicle speed is more than3 mph (5 km/h), the option to select themodes disables, to avoid unintendedoperation.
Note:The power running boards reversedirection and move to the end of travel ifthey encounter an object when moving.Keep the power running boards andbrackets clean for optimum performance.
Off
The power running boards remain stowed,regardless of door position.
Auto
The power running boards deploy whenyou approach your vehicle with a remotecontrol, unlock the door or open the door.
The power running boards stow:
•After a few seconds when you closethe doors.
•Instantly after you close and lock thedoors.
•If you unlock the door but do not openit, after the timeout.
•If you have switched approachdetection on and do not open a doorbefore the auto timer setting expires.
•When the vehicle speed is more than3 mph (5 km/h).
Note:When you select this mode, an optiondisplays that allows you to select how longthe running boards stay deployed withoutopening the door.
Out
The power running boards remaindeployed, regardless of door position. Thepower running boards stow when thevehicle speed is more than 5 km/h, and themode changes to auto. You need to selectOut mode again if you want the powerrunning boards to stay deployed at the endof each trip.

Adjusting the Steering Wheel
WARNING: Do not adjust thesteering wheel when your vehicle ismoving.
Note: Make sure that you are sitting in thecorrect position. See Sitting in the CorrectPosition (page 193).
1.Unlock the steering column.
2.Adjust the steering wheel to theposition you prefer.
3.Lock the steering column.

WASHERS
WASHER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: If you operate yourvehicle in temperatures below 41°F(5°C), use washer fluid with antifreezeprotection. Failure to use washer fluidwith antifreeze protection in coldweather could result in impairedwindshield vision and increase the riskof injury or accident.
Do not operate the washers when thewasher reservoir is empty. This could causethe washer pump to overheat.
Keep the outside of the windshield clean.The rain sensor is very sensitive and thewipers may operate if dirt, mist or insectshit the windshield.
USING THE WINDSHIELD WASHER
Press and hold the button at theend of the lever to operate thewindshield washer.
Note:A courtesy wipe occurs a short timeafter the wipers stop to clear any remainingwasher fluid when switched on. SeeSwitching the Courtesy Wipe On and Off(page 145).

HEADLAMPS – FREQUENTLYASKED QUESTIONS
Why is there condensation in theheadlamps?
•Headlamps have vents toaccommodate normal changes in airpressure. Condensation can be anatural by-product of this design.When moist air enters the lampassembly through the vents, there is apossibility that condensation can occurwhen the temperature is cold. Whennormal condensation occurs, a finemist can form on the interior of thelens. The fine mist eventually clearsand exits through the vents duringnormal operation.
How much condensation isacceptable?
•The presence of a fine mist, forexample no streaks, drip marks or largedroplets. A fine mist covers less than50% of the lens.
How long may it take for theacceptable condensation to becleared?
•Clearing time may take as long as 48hours under dry weather conditions.
How much condensation isunacceptable?
•A water puddle inside the lamp.Streaks, drip marks or large dropletspresent on the interior of the lens.
What should I do if unacceptablecondensation is present?
•Have your vehicle checked as soon aspossible.
Why do my headlamps turn offwhen I have them switched onwhen I switch my vehicle off?
•The battery saver turns the headlampsoff after a short period of time after youswitch your vehicle off.
AUTOLAMPS
WHAT ARE AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You mayneed to override the system if it does notturn the headlamps on in low visibilityconditions, for example daytime fog.
Autolamps turn the headlamps on in lowlight situations or when the windshieldwipers operate.
AUTOLAMP SETTINGS
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Press Lighting.
4.Press Autolamp Delay.
5.Press a setting.

Push the lever up or down toswitch the turn signal lamps on.
Set the lever to the middle position toswitch the turn signal lamps off.
Note:Tap the lever up or down to make theturn signal lamps flash three times.
Turn Signal Lamp Indicator
It flashes when you switch theturn signal lamps on.
Note:An increase in the rate of flashingwarns of a failed turn signal lamp.
HOW DO CORNERING LAMPSWORK (If Equipped)
The cornering lamps illuminate the insideof a corner when you are turning thesteering wheel or when you switch the turnsignal lamps on. They turn on when thevehicle speed is below 25 mph (40 km/h).
Note:Only the cornering lamp on the sideyour vehicle is turning illuminates.
Note:Cornering lamps do not operate ifyou switch the front fog lamps on.

3.Press Lighting.
4.Switch Daytime Running Lights on oroff.
The daytime running lamps turn on whenall of the following occur:
•You switch the system on.
•You switch your vehicle on.
•The vehicle is not in park (P).
•The lighting control is in the autolampsposition.
•The headlamps are off.
Note:Other lighting control positions donot turn on the daytime running lamps.
SWITCHING THE DAYTIMERUNNING LAMPS ON AND OFF -VEHICLES WITH: DAYTIMERUNNING LAMPS (DRL)
WARNING: The daytime runninglamps system does not activate the rearlamps and may not provide adequatelighting during low visibility drivingconditions. Make sure you switch theheadlamps on, as appropriate, during alllow visibility conditions. Failure to do somay result in a crash.
Daytime running lamps are always onunless you switch on the headlamps oryour vehicle is in park (P).
USING THE FRONT FOG LAMPS
To switch the lamps on or off:
1.Set the lighting control to the parkinglamps, headlamps or autolampsposition.
Note:When the lighting control is in theautolamps position, you cannot switch thefog lamps on unless the low beamheadlamps are on.

Press the button on thelighting control to switch the front foglamps on or off.
Note:Only switch the front fog lamps onduring reduced visibility.
Note:The brightness of the daytime runninglamps may decrease when the front foglamps are switched on.
Note:The front fog lamps lights switch offautomatically when high beams areactivated.
Front Fog Lamps Indicator
It illuminates when you switchthe front fog lamps on.
SWITCHING THE CARGO LAMPSON
Press the button in the lightingcontrol or in the rear cargo box.
SWITCHING THE SPOT LAMPS ONAND OFF (If Equipped)
The spot lamp buttons are near the lightingcontrol.
Press the button to switch on theleft-hand spot lamp.
Press the button to switch on theright-hand spot lamp.
Move the position of the exterior mirrorsto adjust the aim.
Note:Make sure you switch your vehicle on,with the vehicle in accessory mode orrunning.
Note:The spot lamps turn off after 6 mph(10 km/h).

Note:The spot lamps illuminate the areain front of and to the side of your vehicle.
SWITCHING OFF ROAD DRIVINGLAMPS ON AND OFF - RAPTOR
The off-road driving lamps switch isconnected to the AUX 1 switch on theauxiliary switch panel. When the switch isturned on, the indicator light on the switchilluminates and the circuit provides powerto the off-road driving lights
Note:Off-road driving lamps are foroff-road use only. Use on public roads mayviolate local laws.
Note:Only switch the off-road drivinglamps on during reduced visibility in off-roadconditions.
Note:The off-road driving lamps onlyoperate when accessory mode is active, andthe engine is in the on or off position. Leavethe engine running to maintain batterycharge when using the off-road drivinglamps.
EXTERIOR LAMP INDICATORS
Front Fog Lamp
It illuminates when you switchthe front fog lamps on.
Turn Signal Lamp
It flashes when you switch theturn signal lamps on.
Note:An increase in the rate of flashingwarns of a failed turn signal lamp.
EXTERIOR LAMPS ON AUDIBLEWARNING
Sounds when you open the driver door andthe exterior lamps are on.
EXTERIOR ZONE LIGHTING (IF
EQUIPPED)
WHAT IS EXTERIOR ZONELIGHTING
Exterior zone lighting divides the exteriorlighting into zones and allows you to switchthem on and off to provide lighting aroundthe perimeter of your vehicle.
USING THE EXTERIOR ZONELIGHTING

2.Press Zone Lighting.

AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMCONTROL PRECAUTIONS

WARNING: The system may notswitch the high beams off if the lights ofoncoming vehicles are hidden byobstacles, for example guard rails.
WARNING: Do not use the systemin poor visibility, for example fog, heavyrain, spray or snow.
WARNING: You may need tooverride the system when approachingother road users.
WARNING: You may need tooverride the system during inclementweather.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMCONTROL REQUIREMENTS
The system turns the high beams on if allof the following occur:
•You switch the system on.
•You set the lighting control to theautolamps position.
•The ambient light level is low enoughthat you require high beams.
•There is no traffic in front of yourvehicle.
•The vehicle speed is greater thanapproximately 32 mph (52 km/h).
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMCONTROL LIMITATIONS
The system turns the high beams off if anyof the following occur:
•You switch the system off.
•You set the lighting control to anyposition except autolamps.
•The ambient light level is high enoughthat you do not require high beams.
