CABIN AIR FILTER
Your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air
filter. It is located behind the center
console.
The particulate filtration system reduces
the concentration of airborne particles
such as dust, spores and pollen in the air
supplied to the interior of your vehicle.
Note:
Make sure you have a cabin air filter
installed at all times. This prevents foreign
objects from entering the system. Running
the system without a filter in place could
result in degradation or damage to the
system.
104
Fiesta (CCT) Climate ControlE72507
The particulate filtration system gives you
and your passengers the following
benefits:
•
It improves your driving comfort by
reducing particle concentration.
• It improves the interior compartment
cleanliness.
• It protects the climate control
components from particle deposits.
Replace the filter at regular intervals. See
Scheduled Maintenance (page 368).
For additional cabin air filter information,
or to replace the filter, see an authorized
dealer.

1 Failure to use the correct air filter element may result in severe engine damage. Your
warranty may be void for any damage to the engine if the correct air filter element is not
used.
2 Only use the specified replacement oil filter. The use of a non-specified oil filter can
result in engine damage. See Scheduled Maintenance (page 368).
3 For spark plug replacement, see an authorized dealer. Replace the spark plugs at the
appropriate intervals.
Note: Replace the spark plugs with ones that meet Ford material and design specifications
for your vehicle, such as Motorcraft or equivalent replacement parts. Your warranty may
be void for any damage to the engine if the correct spark plugs are not used.

Normal Scheduled Maintenance
Your vehicle is equipped with an oil minder
system that indicates when the engine oil
should be changed under normal operating
conditions.
This means you do not have to remember
to change the oil on a mileage-based
schedule; the vehicle lets you know when
an oil change is due by displaying ENGINE
OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE
REQUIRED in the information display. Every 10000 miles (16000 kilometers) or 12 months
Change engine oil and filter. **
Rotate the tires.
Perform a multi-point inspection (recommended).
Inspect the automatic transmission fluid level. Consult your dealer for requirements.
Inspect the brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
Inspect the cabin air filter.
Inspect the engine cooling system strength and hoses.
Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.
Inspect the half-shaft boots.
Inspect the steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tire-rod ends, driveshaft and U-
joints. Lubricate any areas with grease fittings.
Inspect the tires, tire wear and measure the tread depth.
Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or
drag.
* Do not exceed one year or 10000 miles (16000 kilometers) between service intervals.
** Reset the oil minder system after each engine oil and filter change. See
Engine Oil
Check (page 182). Additional Maintenance Items

Exceptions
There are some exceptions your Normal
Scheduled Maintenance:
California fuel filter replacement: If the
vehicle is registered in California, the
California Air Resources Board has
determined that the failure to perform this
maintenance item will not nullify the
emission warranty or limit recall liability
prior to the completion of the vehicle's
useful life. Ford Motor Company, however,
urges you to have all recommended
maintenance services performed at the
specified intervals and to record all vehicle
service.
Hot climate oil change intervals:
Vehicles operating in the Middle East,
North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa or
locations with similar climates using an
American Petroleum Institute (API)
Certified for Gasoline Engines (Certification
mark) oil of SM or SN quality, the normal
oil change interval is 5000 miles (8000
kilometers). If the available API SM or SN oils are not
available, then the oil change service
interval is 3000 miles (4800 kilometers).
Engine air filter and cabin air filter
replacement
: Engine air filter and cabin
air filter life is dependent on exposure to
dusty and dirty conditions. Vehicles
operated in these conditions require
frequent inspection and replacement of
the engine air filter and cabin air filter.
Engine Coolant Change Record
Initial change: Six years or 100000 miles
(160000 kilometers) (whichever comes
first).
After initial change: Every three years or
50000 miles (80000 kilometers).
