WHAT IS THE POWER OUTLET
The power outlet can power devices usinga 12 V outlet adapter.

PRECAUTIONS
When you switch the vehicle on, you canuse the socket to power 12 V applianceswith a maximum current rating of 15 A. Donot use the power point over the vehiclecapacity of 12 V DC 180 W or a fuse couldblow. Do not plug in any device thatsupplies power to the vehicle through thepower points. This could result in damageto vehicle systems. Do not hang anyaccessory from the accessory plug. Alwayskeep the power point caps closed whennot in use. Do not insert objects other thanan accessory plug into the power point.
To prevent the battery from running out ofcharge:
•Do not use the power point longer thannecessary when the vehicle is off.
•Do not leave devices plugged inovernight or when you park your vehiclefor extended periods.
•Using devices for extended periodsmay require starting and running theengine to recharge the battery.

OUTLETS
Power outlets may be in the followinglocations:
•On the lower instrument panel.
•Inside the center console.
•On the front of the center console.
•On the rear of the center console.
•In the cargo area.
•On the passenger side floor panel.
•3rd row on the quarter trim panels.

RUNNING OUT OF FUEL
FILLING A PORTABLE FUELCONTAINER
WARNING: Flow of fuel through afuel pump nozzle can produce staticelectricity. This can cause a fire if you arefilling an ungrounded fuel container.
Use the following guidelines to avoidelectrostatic charge build-up, which canproduce a spark, when filling anungrounded fuel container:
•Only use an approved fuel container totransfer fuel to your vehicle. Place thecontainer on the ground when filling it.
•Do not fill a fuel container when it isinside your vehicle (including the cargoarea).
•Keep the fuel pump nozzle in contactwith the fuel container when filling it.
•Do not use a device that holds the fuelpump nozzle lever in the fill position.
ADDING FUEL FROM A PORTABLEFUEL CONTAINER
WARNING: Do not insert the nozzleof a fuel container or an aftermarketfunnel into the fuel filler neck. This maydamage the fuel system filler neck or itsseal and cause fuel to run onto theground.
WARNING: Do not pry open thefuel tank filler valve. This could damagethe fuel system. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in fire, personalinjury or death.
WARNING: Do not dispose of fuelin the household refuse or the publicsewage system. Use an authorized wastedisposal facility.
When refueling the vehicle fuel tank froma fuel container, use the fuel filler funnelincluded with your vehicle. See Locatingthe Fuel Filler Funnel (page 172).
Note:Do not use aftermarket funnels asthey may not work with the capless fuelsystem and can damage it.
When refueling the vehicle fuel tank froma fuel container, do the following:
1.Fully open the fuel filler door.
2.Fully insert the fuel filler funnel into thefuel filler inlet.
3.Add fuel to your vehicle from the fuelcontainer.
4.Remove the fuel filler funnel.
5.Fully close the fuel filler door.
6.Clean the fuel filler funnel and place itback in your vehicle or correctly disposeof it.

PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: When your vehicle isstationary, keep the brake pedal fullypressed when shifting gears. Failure tofollow this instruction could result inpersonal injury, death or propertydamage.
WARNING: Do not apply the brakepedal and accelerator pedalsimultaneously. Applying both pedalssimultaneously for more than a fewseconds limits vehicle performance,which may result in difficulty maintainingspeed in traffic and could lead to seriousinjury.
WARNING: Apply the parkingbrake, shift into park (P), switch thevehicle off and remove the key or remotecontrol before you leave your vehicle.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury or death.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
POSITIONS
PARK (P)
WARNING: Shift into park (P) onlywhen your vehicle is stationary.
In park (P) power is not transmitted to thedriven wheels.
Note:A tone sounds if you attempt to exityour vehicle without the vehicle in park (P).
Note:Your vehicle may not shift out of park(P) if the 12 V battery has run out of charge.
Note:Your vehicle may not shift out of park(P) if a fuse is blown.
Note:Your vehicle may not shift out of park(P) unless the key or remote control is insideyour vehicle.
Note:The electronic parking brake couldapply when you power your vehicle on withthe selector in park (P).
Note:The electronic parking brake couldapply if you shift to park (P) without fullypressing the brake pedal.
Note:The electronic parking brake couldapply if you shift to park (P) on a slope.
Note:Do not manually release the parkingbrake when the selector is in park (P). SeeAutomatically Releasing the ElectricParking Brake (page 195).
Note:Your vehicle could shift into park (P)if you attempt to exit your vehicle withoutthe transmission in park (P). See How DoesAutomatic Return to Park (P) Work (page184).
Note:A tone could sound when you selectpark (P).
REVERSE (R)
WARNING: Shift into reverse (R)only when your vehicle is stationary.
In reverse (R) power is transmitted to thedriven wheels.
NEUTRAL (N)
WARNING: In neutral (N) yourvehicle is free to roll.
In neutral (N) power is not transmitted tothe driven wheels.

FUSE PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Always disconnect thebattery before servicing high currentfuses.
WARNING: To reduce risk ofelectrical shock, always replace thecover to the power distribution boxbefore reconnecting the battery orrefilling fluid reservoirs.
WARNING: Always replace a fusewith one that has the specifiedamperage rating. Using a fuse with ahigher amperage rating can cause severewire damage and could start a fire.
