If your vehicle is equipped witha push-button start, place the intelligentaccess key fob into the backup slot. Thelocation of your backup slot is in anotherchapter. See Starting and Stopping theEngine (page 138).
2. Switch the ignition on.
3. Access the main menu on theinformation display controls, and selectSettings then MyKey by pressing OK orthe > button.
4. Press OK or the > button to selectCreate MyKey.
5. When prompted, hold the OK buttonuntil you see a message informing you tolabel this key as a MyKey. The key will berestricted at the next start.
MyKey is successfully created. Make sureyou label it so you can distinguish it fromthe admin keys.
You can also program configurablesettings for the key(s). SeeProgramming/Changing ConfigurableSettings.
Programming/ChangingConfigurable Settings
Use the information display to access yourconfigurable MyKey settings.
1.Switch the ignition on using an adminkey or fob.
2.Access the main menu on theinformation display controls, and selectSettings, then MyKey by pressing OKor > button.
3.Use the arrow buttons to get to afeature.
4.Press OK or > to make a selection.
Note:You can clear or change your MyKeysettings at any time during the same keycycle as you created the MyKey. Once youhave switched the vehicle off, however, youwill need an admin key to change or clearyour MyKey settings.
CLEARING ALL MYKEYS
You can clear or change your MyKeysettings using the information displaycontrol on the steering wheel. SeeInformation Displays (page 86).
Switch the ignition on using an admin keyor fob.
To clear all MyKeys of all MyKey settings, press the left arrow button to accessthe main menu and scroll to:

INTERIOR LAMPS
The lamps will turn on when you have metone of the following conditions:
•You open any door.
•You press a remote control button.
•You press button A on the front interiorlamp.
Front Interior Lamp
Note:The front interior lamp buttons areon the overhead console. The exact locationof each button on the overhead consoledepends upon which roof, moonroof, andwindow shade features are equipped on thevehicle.
Note:Press button C to switch the doorfunction off when you open any door. Theindicator lamp will light amber when thedoor function is off. When the door functionis off and you open a door, the courtesy anddoor lamps will stay off. Press button Cagain to switch the door function back on.The indicator lamp will light blue when thedoor function is on. When the door functionis on and you open a door, the courtesy anddoor lamps will light.

You can control various systems on yourvehicle using the information displaycontrols on the steering wheel.
The information display shows thecorresponding information.
Information Display Controls(Type 1 and 2)
•Press the up and down arrow buttonsto scroll through and highlight theoptions within a menu.
•Press the right arrow button to enter asubmenu.
•Press the left arrow button to exit asubmenu.
•Press and hold the left arrow button atany time to return to the main menudisplay (escape button).
•Press the OK button to choose andconfirm settings or messages.

Note:You can reset your trip information by pressing and holding the OK button on the lefthand steering wheel controls.

Auto StartStop
•Inst Fuel Economy - shows a visual graph of your instantaneous fuel economy.
•Fuel History - shows a bar chart of your fuel history.
•Average Speed - shows your vehicles average speed since the function was last reset.
•Auto StartStop - available Auto Start-Stop messaging will provide details about whatis happening with your system. See Information Messages (page 96).
Note:You can reset your average fuel economy by pressing and holding the OK button onthe left hand steering wheel controls.

Air distribution control: Adjust the control to turn airflow from the windshield,instrument panel, or footwell vents on or off. You can distribute air through anycombination of these vents.

Note: At least one of these buttons illuminates on when the system is on.
Heated seats (if equipped): Press the button to switch the heated seats onand off. See Heated Seats (page 133).I
Recirculated air: Press the button to switch between outside air andrecirculated air. The air currently in the passenger compartment recirculates.This can reduce the time needed to cool the interior and reduce unwanted odorsfrom entering your vehicle.

Note: Recirculated air may also turn on and off automatically in instrumentpanel or instrument panel and floor airflow modes during hot weather to improvecooling efficiency.
Fan speed indicator: Illuminates to indicate fan speed.K

Press the button to clear theheated rear window of thin iceand fog. The heated rear windowwill automatically turn off after a shortperiod of time. Start the engine before youswitch the heated rear window on.

To program the fuel operated parking heater, scroll to:

Select one of the following:
Allows you to program a heating cycle for each day of theweek. These times remain stored and the system warms upyour vehicle at the programmed times.
Time 1
Allows you to program a second heating cycle for each dayof the week. These times remain stored and the systemwarms up your vehicle at the programmed times.
Time 2
Select to set a second heating cycle, for example differenttimes on different days or twice on the same day.
Allows you to program one heating cycle for a specific day.Once
Switches the system on immediately.Heat now
Programming the Time Functions
Set the time you want your vehicle to bewarm and ready to drive. Use theinformation display controls on thesteering wheel. See InformationDisplays (page 86).
1.Select the desired days you want thesystem to warm up your vehicle.Highlight each desired day and pressthe OK button.
2.Highlight the time at the top of themenu and press the OK button. Thehours flash.
3.Set the hours using the up and downarrow buttons.
4.Press the right arrow button. Theminutes flash. Set the minutes usingthe up and down arrow buttons. Pressthe OK button.
Programming the Once Function
Selecting this function allows you toprogram one heating cycle for one specificday.
Set the time you want your vehicle to bewarm and ready to drive. Use theinformation display controls on thesteering wheel. See InformationDisplays (page 86).
1.Highlight the time at the top of themenu and press the OK button. Thehours start to flash.
2.Set the hours using the up and downarrow buttons.

Switching the Heat Now Function On
WARNING
Do not use the fuel operated parkingheater at fuel filling stations or nearsources of combustible vapors, dustor in enclosed spaces. This could result inserious personal injury or death.
Selecting this function allows you to switchthe system on immediately.
Use the information display controls onthe steering wheel. See InformationDisplays (page 86).
To switch the heat now function on, scroll to:

Adjusting the Head Restraint
Adjust the head restraint so that the topof it is level with the top of your head.
Raising the Head Restraint
Pull the head restraint up.
Lowering the Head Restraint
1.Press and hold button C.
2.Push the head restraint down.
Removing the Head Restraint
1.Pull the head restraint up until itreaches its highest position.
2.Press and hold buttons C and D.
3.Pull the head restraint up.
Folding the Head Restraint
Note:The rear seat center head restraintmay fold forward for improved visibility.
Note:If your vehicle has a dog guard, makesure the folding center head restraint is inthe upright position before installing the dogguard. See Load Carrying (page 207).
1.Press and hold button E.
2.Pull it back up to reset.
Installing the Head Restraint
Align the steel stems into the guide sleevesand push the head restraint down until inlocks.
