WARNING:If the parking brake is fully released, but the brake
warning lamp remains illuminated, the brakes may not be
working properly. See your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
Note:See your authorized dealer as soon as possible if this procedure is
used.
Use the brake-shift interlock lever to move the gearshift lever from theP
(Park) position in the event of an electrical malfunction or if your vehicle
has a dead battery.
Note:For some markets, this feature will be disabled.
Apply the parking brake and turn the ignition off before performing this
procedure.
1. Using a screwdriver (or similar
tool), remove the insert next to the
gearshift lever.
2. Insert the screwdriver (or similar
tool) into the hole and press the lever
forward while pulling the gearshift
lever out of position P and into the
position N.
3. Remove the tool and reinstall the
insert.
4. Start the vehicle and release the
parking brake.
