Windshield Washers Push the right lever up or down to
select a position.
The wipers run at high
speed until you release the lever.
The wipers are not activated. The wipers run at low speed.
The wipers run at high speed.
The length of the wiper
interval is varied automatically
according to the vehicle’s speed.
Vary the delay by turning the INT
TIME ring. If you turn it to the
shortest delay, the wipers will
change to low speed operation when
the vehicle speed exceeds 12 mph
(20 km/h). Pull the
wiper control lever toward you and
hold it. The washers spray until you
release the lever. The wipers run at
low speed, then complete one more
sweep after you release the lever.

High beams
FlashhighbeamsPush down on the
lef t lever to signal a lef t turn and up
to signal a right turn. To signal a lane
change, push lightly on the lever in
the proper direction and hold it. The
lever will return to center when you
release it or complete a turn. Turning the switch
on the lef t lever to the position
turns on the parking lights, taillights,
instrument panel lights, side-marker
lights, and rear license plate lights.
Turning the switch to the position turns on the
headlights. If you leave the lights on
with the ignition switch in
ACCESSORY (I) or LOCK (0), you
will hear a reminder chime when you
open the driver’s door.
When the light switch is in either of
these positions, the Lights On
indicator comes on as a reminder.

µIf you remove the key f rom the
ignition switch with the headlight
switch on, but do not open the door
and get out, the lights will turn of f
af ter 10 minutes.
The lights will turn on again when
you unlock or open the driver’s door.
If you unlock the door, but do not
open it within 15 seconds, the lights
will go of f . With the driver’s door
open, you will hear a lights-on
reminder chime.
To turn on the high
beams, push the lever f orward until
you hear a click. The blue high beam
indicator will come on (see page ).
To turn of f the high beams, pull the
lever back. To flash the high beams,
pull the lever f arther back, and then
release it. The high beams remain on
until the lever is released. This f eature turns of f the headlights,
parking lights, taillights, and license
plate light within 15 seconds of
removing the key from the ignition
switch and closing the driver’s door.
This feature activates if you leave
the headlight switch in the or
position, remove the key, then
open and close the driver’s door.

When you turn the ignition switch to
the ON (II) position and release the
parking brake, the high beam
headlights and the high beam
indicator come on at reduced
brightness if the headlight switch is
off.
The daytime running lights are of f
when the headlight switch is in theor position.
The Select/Reset knob on the
instrument panel controls the
brightness of the instrument panel
lights. Turn the knob to adjust the
brightness. The instrument panel will illuminate
with reduced brightness when you
unlock and open the driver’s door.
The brightness will increase slightly
when you insert the key in the
ignitionswitch,thengotonormal
brightness when you turn the
ignition switch to ON (II).
If you do not insert the key in the
ignition switch af ter opening the
driver’s door, the illumination turns
of f in about 30 seconds.
If you insert the key but do not turn
the ignition switch to ON (II), the
illumination turns of f in about 10
seconds.

Bef ore driving, make sure the rear
window is clear.
The rear window is equipped with
def ogger wires. The wires are
attached from inside the vehicle. To
clean the rear window, wipe it from
side to side to prevent the wires f rom
being damaged.
Turn on this def ogger to def og or
de-ice the rear window. The
indicatoronthebuttonisonwhen
the def ogger is on. The def ogger
turns of f when you turn of f the
engine.
Press the hazard warning button if
you need to bring your vehicle to an
emergency stop, or if it is disabled.
When you press the button, the turn
signal lights and the turn signal
indicators blink.

Make any steering wheel adjustment
bef ore you start driving.Push the lever under the steering
column all the way down. Insert the key in the ignition
switch, and unlock the steering
column. Move the steering wheel up or
down, and in or out to the desired
position. Make sure you can see
the instrument panel gauges and
the indicator lights.Push the lever up to lock the
steering wheel in that position.
Make sure you have securely
locked the steering wheel in place
by trying to move it up, down, in,
and out.

The master key fits all the locks on
your vehicle. The valet key works
only in the ignition and the door
locks. You can keep the trunk
release handle, rear seat trunk
access, and glove box locked when
you leave your vehicle and the valet
key at a parking f acility.Youshouldhavereceivedakey
number tag with your keys. You will
need this key number if you ever
have to get a lost key replaced. Use
only Honda-approved key blanks.
These keys contain electronic
circuits that are activated by the
Immobilizer System. They will not
work to start the engine if the
circuits are damaged.
Protect the keys f rom direct
sunlight, high temperature, and
high humidity. Donotdropthekeysorsetheavy
objects on them.
Keep the keys away f rom liquids.
If they get wet, dry them
immediately with a sof t cloth.

If the system repeatedly does not
recognize the coding of your key,
contact your dealer.
Do not attempt to alter this system
or add other devices to it. Electrical
problems could result that may make
your vehicle undriveable.
If you lose your key and you cannot
start the engine, contact your dealer.
The Immobilizer System protects
your vehicle f rom thef t. If an
improperly-coded key (or other
device) is used, the engine will not
start.
When you turn the ignition switch to
ON (II), the Immobilizer System
indicator should come on f or a f ew
seconds, then go out. If the indicator
starts to blink, it means the system
does not recognize the coding of the
key. Turn the ignition switch to
LOCK (0), remove the key, reinsert
it, and turn the switch to ON (II)
again.
The system may not recognize your
key’s coding if another immobilizer
key or other metal object (i.e. key
f ob) is near the ignition switch when
you insert the key.As required by the FCC:

The ignition switch has f our
positions: LOCK (0), ACCESSORY
(I), ON (II), START (III)
You can insert or
remove the key only in this position.
To turn the key, the shift lever must
be in Park, and you must push the
key in slightly. If the f ront wheels
are turned, the anti-thef t lock may
make it difficult to turn the key.
Firmly turn the steering wheel to the
left or to the right as you turn the key.
You can
operate the audio system and the
accessory power sockets in this
position.
This is the normal key
position when driving. Several of the
lights on the instrument panel come
on as a test when you turn the
ignition switch f rom ACCESSORY
(I) to ON (II).
Use this position
only to start the engine. The switch
returns to ON (II) when you let go of
the key. A reminder beeper sounds if the
ignition switch is in the the LOCK
(0) or ACCESSORY(I) position when
you open the driver’s door. Remove
the key from the ignition switch to
turn of f the beeper.
