You cannot start the engine. Set the power mode to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK), then select the ON mode
again.
●Repeatedly blinks - The system may be
malfunctioning. Have the vehicle checked by a
dealer.
●Do not attempt to alter this system or add other
devices to it. Electrical problems can occur.

Information Display
The information display shows the fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter, engine oil life
and maintenance service item codes, and other gauges.
Press the (select/reset) kn ob to change the display.

Shows the instant fuel economy as a bar gr aph in mpg (U.S.) or l/100 km (Canada).
Shows the total number of miles (U.S.) or ki lometers (Canada) that your vehicle has
accumulated.
Shows the total number of miles (U.S.) or kilometers (Canada) driven since the last
reset. TRIP A and B can be used to measure two separate trips.
■Resetting a trip meter
To reset a trip meter, display it, then pr ess and hold the knob. The trip meter is
reset to 0.0 .
Shows the estimated distance you can travel on the remaining fuel. This distance is
estimated from the fuel economy of your previous trips.
Shows the estimated average fuel economy of each trip meter in mpg (U.S.) or l/100
km (Canada). The display is updated at set intervals. When a trip meter is reset, the
average fuel economy is also reset.

Shows the outside temperature in Fahr enheit (U.S.) or Celsius (Canada).
■Adjusting the outside temperature indicator
Adjust the temperature reading up to ± 5°F or ± 3°C if the temperature reading
seems incorrect.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON
(w*1.
2. Press and hold the (Select/Reset) knob for 10 seconds or more while the
outside temperature is shown on the information display.
u The information display goes into temp erature adjustment mode. The display
starts showing from -5°F to +5°F (U .S.) or -3°C to +3°C (Canada).
3. Release the knob when the right adjustment amount is shown.
u The adjustment is complete.

The temperature sensor is in the front bumper.
Road heat and exhaust fr om another vehicle can
affect the temperature reading when your vehicle
speed is less than 19 mph (30 km/h).
It may take several minutes for the display to be
updated after the temperature reading has stabilized.
When the engine oil life is shown on the information
display, you cannot adjust the outside temperature.
Push the knob to select the other display.

NOTICE
You should refuel when the reading approaches .
Running out of fuel can cause the engine to misfire,
damaging the cata lytic converter.
The actual amount of remain ing fuel may differ from
the fuel gauge reading.E

Adjusting the Clock
You can adjust the time in the clock display with the ignition switch is in ON (w*1.

Settings .

■Locking the doors
Press the lock button.
Once: u Some exterior lights flash, all the doors
and tailgate lock, and the security system
sets.
Twice (within five se conds after the first
push): u A beeper sounds and verifies the security
system is set.
■Using the Remote Transmitter1Using the Remote Transmitter
If you do not open a door within 30 seconds of
unlocking the vehicle with the remote transmitter,
the doors will auto matically relock.
If the interior light switch is in the door activated
position, the interior light s come on when you press
the unlock button.
No doors opened: The li ghts fade out after 30
seconds.
Doors relocked with the remote transmitter: The
lights go off immediately.
The remote transmitter us es low-power signals, so
the operating range may vary depending on the
surroundings.
The remote transmitter will not lock the vehicle when
a door or tail gate is open.
The remote transmitter will not work when the key is
in the ignition switch.
You can lock or unlock doors using the remote
transmitter or smart entry system only when the
power mode is in VEHICLE OFF.

■Lockout prevention system
The doors and the tailgate cannot be locked when the key is in the ignition switch.
The doors and the tailgate cannot be locked when the smart entry remote is inside
the vehicle.

When you lock the driver’s door, all the other doors
and tailgate lock at the same time.
Make sure you have the key in your hand before
locking the door to prevent it from being locked in
the vehicle.

Pull the front door inner handle.
u The door unlocks and opens in one
motion.
Unlocking and opening the driver’s door from the inner handle unlocks all the other
doors.
To prevent all the doors unlock ing, use the lock tab on the driver’s door to unlock,
then lock again before opening the door. u This setting works for one time only. If you do not want all the doors to unlock
all the time, customize the Auto Door Unlock setting to Off using the master
door lock switch.

The front door inne r handles are designed to allow
front seat occupants to open the door in one motion.
However this feature requires that front seat
occupants never pull a front door inner handle while
the vehicle is in motion.
Children should always ride in a rear seat where
childproof door locks are provided.
